RACE NO.1 (133) – THE PENNYWISE PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 4 Runners

 

SABIQ (G. Amit) lost about a length at the start.

 

After the race, OLLY BOY was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.2 (134) – THE ANTONIOS TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

 

At the start, VISION OF ROMANCE (S. Mosin, dr.3) jumped inwards unbalancing the rider and thereafter shifted in on to SUMAAQ (C. S. Jodha, dr.2) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening INDIAN SERENADE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.1) along the rails. 

 

At the start, ZANZIBAAR (J. Chinoy, dr.5) jumped inwards on to NIGHT OF STARS (Kavraj Singh, dr. 4) forcing the latter to be checked.

 

After the race, VISION OF ROMANCE and NIGHT OF STARS (checked at the stables for soundness) were trotted and found to be sound. NIGHT OF STARS had an abrasion at the left hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.3(135)  – THE STAR TRAINER PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, BULLION EXPRESS (D. S. Daman, dr.3) jumped inwards on to WAY AHEAD (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2) who in turn shifted in and tightened CARE FREE (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.1) along the rails.

 

At the start, PRETTY ANGEL (Bhawani Singh, dr.6) jumped awkwardly throwing its head and at the same time BLAVATSKY (S. Mosin, dr. 7) shifted in on to PRETTY ANGEL, who in turn shied inwards on to CLEMENTI (N. S. Parmar, dr. 5).

 

At the start, JEENA (G. Amit, dr.10) jumped inwards on to ALFONSO (App. S. A. Amit, dr.9) who had to be steadied. Thereafter, JEENA further shifted in and went across ETTIHAAD (Kishore Kadam, dr.8). Jockey G. Amit has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 200 metres, CLEMENTI (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under urgings on to ETTIHAAD (Kishore Kadam) who had to be checked. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that BULLION EXPRESS was examined at the stables in the morning on 25/09/2016 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.4 (136) – THE NIRMAL RUIA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

 

At the start REMEMBER ME (J. Chinoy) jumped inwards.

 

After the race, STARISTOCRAT and BULLRUN were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(137)  – THE MENORAH PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 6 Runners

 

At the start, RISING BRAVE (Kishore Kadam, dr. 4) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head.

 

In the final stages of the race SPARKLING EYES (Y. S. Srinath) shifted in under pressure and had to be checked so as to avoid colliding with ARTISTIC (A. Sandesh).

 

After the race, SILVER BEAUTY, SPARKLING EYES and ANTEROS (examined on 25/09/2016) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(138)  – THE GOURMET RENAISSANCE INDIAN ST.LEGER (GR.1): (About) 2800 Metres – 7 Runners

COLOMBIANA (Suraj Narredu) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey A. Sandesh (DESERT GOD) has been cautioned for having raised his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post.

 

After the race, UNCLE SCROOGE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.

 

SEVERUS (P. Trevor) was placed fifth and PHENOMENAL MEMORY (Y. S. Srinath) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.7(139) – THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Nosher Cama, AN JOLIE was examined at 0955 hours on 24/09/2016 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg due to hoof injury. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SHIELD OF ACHILLES (A. Sandesh, dr. 4) jumped inwards and made contact with TURF DANCER (C. S. Jodha, dr. 3)

 

At the start, DENNY CRANE (P. S. Chouhan, dr.9) jumped inwards and bumped SYDNEY HARBOUR (S. Zervan, dr.8) unbalancing the latter.

 

Approaching 700 metres, SYDNEY HARBOUR (S. Zervan) shifted in and went across DRACO (Santosh G.) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, TURF DANCER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MERCHANTOFVENICE, SHIELD OF ACHILLES, DRACO, SYDNEY HARBOUR and DENNY CRANE were trotted and found to be sound. DRACO had a gum injury. 

 

RACE NO.8(140) – THE  BEYOND BELIEF PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, ORLA (R. Ajinkya, dr.3) jumped outwards and bumped STAR ONE (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.4).

 

Approaching 600 metres, ORLA (R. Ajinkya) shifted in thereby inconveniencing STAR ONE (App. Vishal N. Bunde).

 

After the race, SILK BABY was observed to have a cut injury at the left hock and LUCKY STRIKE had an abrasion at the left hind pastern. CRACKLIN’ ROSIE, STAR ONE, ORLA and SCARLET PRINCE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(141) – THE  STAR TRAINER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

FORTUNA (Santosh G) planted in the stall thereby losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

In the final stages of the race, SOVEREIGNSKY (Suraj Narredu) shifted in and collided with BULLDOZER (S. Sunil) thereby unbalancing the latter and forcing him to be checked and drop back. On questioning, Jockey Suraj Narredu said that his mount had hung in despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race before next accepting with him to race.

 

After the race, NEVER SAY NEVER and SOVEREIGNSKY were trotted and found to be sound. BULLDOZER had a gum injury.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. JORDANA (1st race), TEMERITY (2nd race), ANGEL GIRL (3rd race), INTELLIGENCE (4th race), ARTISTIC (5th race), DESERT GOD (6th race), CRITICS CHOICE (7th race), POWER SHADOW (8th race) and ETERNALINSPIRATION (9th race), as also that of COLOMBIANA, JIGSAW and B FIFTY TWO (6th race), and the special sample of SUMAAQ (2nd race), AIRLIFT (5th race), CRACKLIN’ ROSIE (8th race) and BULLDOZER (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, master of App. Vishal N. Bunde who he declared on his charge WINGS OF GLORY, and not Rs. 2,000/- as published in the Race Day Report of 18th September, 2016.

 

RACE NO.128  – THE ELOISE PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 18th SEPTEMBER, 2016

 

Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to submit  on time, the consent from Trainer H. J. Antia, master of App. N. Nadeem who he declared on his charge SHAPE THE SCAPE, and not Rs. 2,000/- as published in the Race Day Report of 18th September, 2016.

 

RACE NO.132 – THE  ELOISE PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 18th SEPTEMBER, 2016

 

Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, master of App. Raghuveer Singh who he declared on his charge SUPER BOLT, and not Rs. 2,000/- as published in the Race Day Report of 18th September, 2016.

 

RE :  POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT  OF b g “CAPTAIN” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.74 – THE MARIINSKY PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON SATURDAY, 27th AUGUST, 2016 - IN CHARGE OF TRAINER FAISAL A. ABBAS :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 24th September, 2016 interviewed Tr. Faisal A. Abbas regarding the positive report dated 20th September, 2016  from QuantiLAB, Mauritius, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge CAPTAIN (Winner) in Race No.74 – The Mariinsky Plate (Div.II)  run on 27th August, 2016  which read as under :-

 

 “THE SAMPLE WAS FOUND TO CONTAIN GUAIFENESIN, NORKETAMINE AND DEHYDRONORKETAMINE”

 

At this meeting, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample, i.e. latest by 29th September, 2016, whether he wished to send the split sample to 1) LGC, New Market, UK, 2) Hong Kong Jockey Club Laboratory, 3) L C H, France, or 4) RASL, Australia, for Confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the Primary laboratory as conclusive.

 

Tr. Faisal A. Abbas was asked to conduct his own enquiries and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr. V.O. of the Club, as and when he would be required to.
