RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 METRES CHUTE, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT AT 2200 METRES UP TO 1600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer D. J. Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charge LAS SALINAS in the 5th race, at his (Trainer D. J. Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (124) – THE ENAKSI PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
Soon after the start, JARAMA (S. Sunil, dr.1) shifted outwards on to BAY OF LOVE (Vikram Jodha, dr.2), who in turn shifted out and brushed the haunches of TIME OF MY LIFE (App. K. Nazil, dr.3) and stumbled. Jockey S. Sunil has been cautioned.
Soon after the start, SPEEDO (App. Parbat Singh, dr.7) shifted in and went across SWARAJ (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.6) who had to be steadied. App. Parbat Singh has been cautioned.
Approaching 400 metres, SPEEDO (App. Parbat Singh) shifted out on to FLASHY WINGS (Bhawani Singh) inconveniencing the latter.
Approaching 100 metres, TIME OF MY LIFE (App. K. Nazil) was observed to have maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing BAY OF LOVE (Vikram Jodha) who was racing directly behind him.
In the last 50 metres, JARAMA (S. Sunil) shifted out under pressure and had to be steadied.
Jockey Bhawani Singh (FLASHY WINGS) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, JARAMA, TIME OF MY LIFE, BAY OF LOVE, REDS REVENGE (examined on 19/9/2016) and QUEEN THEA (examined on 19/9/2016), were trotted and found to be sound
RACE NO.2 (125) – THE MYSORE RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 4 Runners
After the race Jockey P. S. Chouhan (SUPREME REGIME) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, AGELESS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CAPTAIN COURAGE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. SUPREME REGIME was found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(126) – THE NEONA PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners
After the race, SAVAGE BEAUTY, JUNE and IMPERIAL HERITAGE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (127) – THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, master of App. Vishal N. Bunde who he declared on his charge WINGS OF GLORY.
Soon after the start, SEACRETS (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening STAR OF BABYLON (T. S. Jodha) and WINGS OF GLORY (App. Vishal N. Bunde). On questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha stated that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Passing 1000 metres, ZAMBIAN (J. Chinoy) shifted in on to STAR OF BABYLON (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. On questioning, Jockey J. Chinoy said that his mount was inclined to run out and he had steadied the gelding, due to which his mount shifted in thereby tightening the field on his inside.
In the final stages of the race, SEACRETS (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening NATURE BOY (C.Umesh) along the rails.
After the race, NATURE BOY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, VIXEN, ZAMBIAN, ESSENCE OF LOVE and SEACRETS were trotted and found to be sound
RACE NO.5(128) – THE ELOISE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge STAR ACE in this race while the filly was on Veterinary Ban. The filly was struck out at the acceptance stage.
Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge TOUGH ENOUGH.
Trainer C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge NAME OF THE GAME.
Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer H. J. Antia, master of App. N. Nadeem who he declared on his charge SHAPE THE SCAPE.
At the start, JABBLE (App. Shahrukh Khan, dr.8) jumped outwards on to DEVOTED (R. Shelar, dr.9), who in turn shifted out on to DECCAN KING (C. Umesh, dr.10). The Stipendiary Stewards will be further looking into the above incident.
Approaching 900 metres, SHAPE THE SCAPE (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in and went across LAS SALINAS (Zameer Syed) who had to be checked and change course, due to which SYNCHRONICITY (C. S. Jodha) was tightened along the rails and dropped back on to MADEIRA (S. J. Sunli). App. N. Nadeem has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 100 metres, SHAPE THE SCAPE (App. N. Nadeem) was observed to have shifted out under urgings. App. N. Nadeem has been cautioned.
At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards’ Enquiry was held in this race. The reason being, passing 100 metres SYNCHRONICITY (C. S. Jodha, Placed First) shifted in and made contact with JABBLE (App. Shahrukh Khan, Placed Second). Thereafter, SHAPE THE SCAPE (App. N. Nadeem, Placed Third) shifted out thereby tightening JABBLE (App. Shahrukh Khan) and it was a close verdict between the first three placed horses.
After considering the submissions made by Jockey C. S. Jodha, App. Shahrukh Khan who was accompanied Trainer Rehanullah Khan as also App. N. Nadeem, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to revise the order of placing of the above race, as under :-
JABBLE - FIRST; SHAPE THE SCAPE - THIRD;
SYNCHRONICITY - SECOND; TOUCH ENOUGH - FOURTH
The Stewards after the last race interviewed Tr. Rehanullah Khan In the above connection and having heard him the Stewards were not entirely satisfied with his explanation, he was told that it was a matter of concern for the Stewards that he chose not to lodge an objection in this race despite his horse being tightened in a very close finish.
After the race, JABBLE was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore bulb of heel. SYNCHRONICITY was found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(129) – THE VILLOO C.POONAWALLA GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
Trainer Himmat Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge HUNAYN.
SHOGUN (A. Sandesh) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. HUNAYN (T. S. Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled and thereafter jumped out awkwardly. Trainers Altaf Hussain and Himmat Singh have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, MINSTREL HEIGHTS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.11) shifted in and went across IDEALIST (S. Sunil, dr.10) and tightened ETERNAL DANCER (App. Shahrukh Khan, dr.9) forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.
At the start, SHOGUN (A. Sandesh, dr. 3) jumped outwards and made contact with COUNTRY MUSIC (Suraj Narredu, dr.4) forcing the latter to shift out thereby inconveniencing the field drawn on his outside. On questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh stated that his mount had veered out despite his efforts. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and to show his charge to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.
An objection was lodged by Jockey Suraj Narredu, rider of COUNTRY MUSIC (Placed Third) against SHOGUN (A. Sandesh, Placed Second). The reason being, after the start SHOGUN shifted out and bumped his horse badly whereby the horse lost his footing and momentum due to which he could not take a favourable position. If not for this interference, he would have run second.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.
After the race, CENTURIO was observed to have lost its right fore plate.
RACE NO.7(130) – THE S.A.POONAWALLA MULTI-MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners
Approaching 100 metres, ARAK (C. S. Jodha) shifted out inconveniencing MAGICAL MEMORY (S. Zervan). Jockey C. S. Jodha Has been cautioned.
The saddle on SILKEN EYES (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to have shifted forward during the race. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.
After the race, ETERNAL SUNSHINE was observed to have an abrasion at the fight fore shoulder.
CHEERLEADER (Suraj Narredu) was placed fifth and MAGICAL MEMORY (S. Zervan) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.8(131) – THE ENAKSI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
GLORIOUS EYES (Suraj Narredu) was reluctant to reach the starting point thus delaying the start. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
At the start, DIVINE ANGEL (Altaf Sayyed, dr.5) jumped inwards on to LADISLAUS (P. Trevor, dr.4), who in turn went on to ARAKAWAH (Kavraj Singh, dr.3).
Passing 200 metres, BOOK THIEF (J. Chinoy) drifted out and raced in the middle of the course. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, DIVINE ANGEL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SOCHI and DIVINE ANGEL were trotted and found to be sound
RACE NO.9(132) – THE ELOISE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge CRITICAL STRIKE.
Trainer C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge JORDEN PRINCE.
Trainer Himmat Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge WAR PRINCESS.
Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to submit on time, the consent from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, master of App. Raghuveer Singh who he declared on his charge SUPER BOLT.
Approaching 800 metres, SUPER BOLT (App. Raghuveer Singh) who was racing alongside WAR PRINCESS (App. Parbat Singh), was tightened along the rails and had to be checked. App. Parbat Singh has been cautioned.
Jockey Altaf Sayyed (SUPER ICON) has been Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount
After the race, SUPER BOLT was trotted and found to be sound.

SWARAJ (1st race), CAPTAIN COURAGE (2nd race), ASPEN (3rd race), FAST LADY (4th race), JABBLE (5th race), MINSTREL HEIGHTS (6th race), GERMANICUS (7th race), BOOK THIEF (8th race) and WONDER STORY (9th race), as also that of SILKEN EYES & ETERNAL SUNSHINE (7th race), and the special sample of JARAMA (1st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:
RACE NO. 2(87): THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY: RUN ON 3RD SEPTEMBER, 2016.
Jockey Suraj Narredu who was declared to ride AGELESS in the above race was unable to fulfill his riding engagement as he had accepted rides at R.C.T.C. on the said day. On enquiring, from Trainer Dallas Todywalla and Jockey Suraj Narredu, it was noted that the error was due to misunderstanding. As such, both were fined Rs.1,000/- each for the lapse.
