PUNE MEETING 2016, SPECIAL RACE, SUNDAY, 21st AUGUST, 2016.

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE UP TO 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO 800 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1 (61) – THE FINE ARROW PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, PEONY (R. Shelar, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with BLAZE THE TRACK (R. Ajinkya, dr. 8), who in turn shifted out on to STAR ACE (Kavraj Singh, dr. 9).

 

Soon after the start, RACHEL (Yash Narredu, dr.6) shifted in thereby inconveniencing DECCAN KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.5). Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

Passing 800 metres, RICH N RARE (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in, as a result AMAZON CAT (Kishore Kadam) shifted in on to TAREEF (Bhawani Singh) forcing the latter to be checked. App. H. Zeeshan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing 800 metres, OSCILLATION (App. S. A. Amit) who was racing on the haunches of TAREEF (Bhawani Singh), had to be steadied and thereby shifted out and made contact with DECCAN KING (Amyn Merchant), who in turn went on to PEONY (R. Shelar).

 

HOPE SPRINGS (S. Mosin) hung out in the straight. Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, App. Parbat Singh (GLORIOUS GIFT) reported that his mount was tentative due to the kick back and had shied out at  about 600 metres.

 

After the race, PEONY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PEONY, GLORIOUS GIFT (examined on 22/08/2016) and STAR ACE (examined on 22/08/2016) were trotted and found to be sound.  STAR ACE had an abrasion on the right nose, DECCAN KING had an abrasion at the left fore coronet and TAREEF had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.2 (62) – THE AURORA AUREALIS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 5 Runners

 

At the start, RIDER ON THE STORM (A. Sandesh, dr.2) jumped inwards and made contact with HARVEY (Dashrath Singh, dr.1).

 

About 100 metres after the start, Jockey Dashrath Singh (HARVEY), in an effort to take a gap along the rails, was hampered for room and had to check his mount.

 

Approaching 600 metres, NASCAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing RIDER ON THE STORM (A. Sandesh) and MERCHANTOFVENICE (R. Ajinkya) App. Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing 600 metres, MERCHANTOFVENICE (R. Ajinkya) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled thereby unbalancing its rider.

 

After the race, RIDER ON THE STORM and HARVEY were trotted and found to be sound. HARVEY had an abrasion at the left hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.3 (63)  – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – 5 Runners

 

VULCAN (Kavraj Singh) was fractious and refused to be stalled, as such, the colt was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order.  Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

MOVING STAR (J. Chinoy) trailed the field. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to ensure that his charge runs with the field next time.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (EIGER’S TIGER) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race due to which he was unable to ride out in the last 50 metres. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, EIGER’S TIGER and MOVING STAR were trotted and found to be sound. MOVING STAR had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.4 (64) – THE STAR WISH PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, MEKONG DELTA (A. Sandesh, dr.9) jumped outwards and made contact with SHIVALIK PRINCESS (Altaf Sayyed, dr.10).

 

Soon after the start, SIMON SAYS (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) shifted out and made contact with MASTER OF TRINITY (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2).

 

ARLENE (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have drifted out at the top of the straight and finished the race along the outer rails. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, GENERAL’S SONG was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. ARLENE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (65)  – THE PANCHSHIL MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

 

KHAYYAM (P. S. Chouhan) jumped out throwing its head.

 

Soon after the start, ANCIENT GLORY (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.2) shifted out and went across  EXODUS (Santosh G, dr.3.), forcing the latter to be checked and drop back.

 

Passing 1200 metres, due to a tightly packed field, DANCING LORD (C. S. Jodha) was tightened along the rails and dropped back.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, the bridle used on KHAYYAM (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have been displaced whereby the Jockey lost control over his mount and the gelding drifted out and finished detached from the field. Trainer P. Shroff has been fined Rs.2,000/- for lapse on his part,  being the first offence.

 

RACE NO.6(66)  – THE MOHAMMED RASHEED BEG & RAHAT BEG TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

DEMOCRAT (Shrikant Kamble) played up in the stall.  The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have a cut injury on the right knee. As such, DEMOCRAT was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.  Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures and to show his charge to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race. Further, the Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

TREVELYAN (Neeraj Rawal), NOBLE CHIEFTAIN (S. Sunil) and KISS FROM A ROSE (J. Chinoy) played up in their stall and in the process Jockey J. Chinoy was hurt and unable to ride. The three horses were withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainers P. Shroff, Mansoor Shah and Nina M. Lalvani have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trial, before next accepting to race.  

 

After the race, FORWARD THRUST and GREY FLANNEL were trotted and found to be sound. TRAVIESO had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.7(67) – THE DINKOO N. CHENOY TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – 17 Runners

 

SWEEP ASIDE (Amyn Merchant) lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, MAD HATTER (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.13) jumped outwards and made contact with MOHEGUN SUN (Kishore Kadam, dr.14).

 

Soon after the start, ROYAL SAPPHIRE (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) was inclined to run outwards and had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, NAME OF THE GAME (Sandeep Jadhav, dr.9) shifted out and made contact with MT TIANMEN (App. Parbat Singh, dr.10 ), who in turn shifted out and made contact with ALFREDO (Santosh G., dr.12).

 

Approaching 800 metres, SPEEDO (Kavraj Singh) shifted out thereby inconveniencing ALFREDO (Santosh G.).

 

Passing 200 metres, HUNTING PLEASURE (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in, thereby inconveniencing ROYAL SAPPHIRE (R. Ajinkya) and SMART CHOICE (Shrikant Kamble).

 

After the race, ZADORA, ALFREDO, SWEEP ASIDE and RESILIENT were trotted and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz.  HOPE SPRINGS, (1st race), NASCAR (2nd race), COSTA SMERALDA (3rd race), ARLENE (4th race), MAGNIFICENCE (5th race), ETERNALINSPIRATION (6th race) and MIND OF MADNESS (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
