RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1 (54) – THE PLEASURES PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

Trainer Arif Patel has been cautioned for having saddled his charge MAGIC VISION (C. S. Jodha) outside the Saddling Enclosure without prior permission.

Approaching 100 metres, PORTO BANUS (J. Chinoy) was observed to have shifted in thereby inconveniencing SAIL PAST (Dashrath Singh). On questioning, Jockey J. Chinoy stated that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and ridding of SAIL PAST and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, SAIL PAST, QUATRO and PORTO BANUS were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2 (55) – THE SAINT EMILION PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 7 Runners

Soon after the start, KOMANDANT (Yash Narredu) shifted out thereby taking the ground of UNCLE SCROOGE (P. Trevor). After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu stated that his mount had shifted out, not giving him sufficient time to react. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

After the race, Jockey D. S. Daman (SQUARE MOON) reported that his reins had slipped in the last 50 metres and he had to gather the same. This being his first offence, no action has been initiated.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of UNCLE SCROOGE and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, STARRY BROOK was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(56) – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners

At the start, COMMANDER (Santosh G., dr. 4) jumped outwards and made contact with BULLRUN (Dashrath Singh, dr. 5)

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of AIRCO and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, AIRCO was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4 (57) – THE PUNE MIRROR SALVER: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

At the start, AURORA AUSTRALIS (N. S. Parmar, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing LIPPE (Shrikant Kamble, dr. 5).

Soon after the start, NEVER SAY NEVER (P. S. Chouhan, dr.7) shifted in and went across AURORA AUSTRALIS (N. S. Parmar, dr.6) who had to be checked and steadied. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Passing 1100 metres, due to a tightly packed field, Jockey Yash Narredu (UNFORGETTABLE YOU) had to check his mount and dropped back.

Approaching 1000 metres, AURORA AUSTRALIS (N. S. Parmar) shifted in on to DOUBLE NINE (J. Chinoy), who in turn shifted in on to SHERLOCK (S. Zervan), forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. On questioning, Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount had hung in. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Approaching 500 metres, NEVER SAY NEVER (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in, due to which FURIOSA (S. Sunil) had to be checked. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

In the last 50 metres, NEVER SAY NEVER (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have shifted out under pressure.

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the request of the Stipendiary Stewards, NEVER SAY NEVER was examined after the race and found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the filly had an abrasion at both hind hock and left fore knee. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, FURIOSA was trotted and found to be sound. AURORA AUSTRALIS had a gum injury.

RACE NO.5(58) – THE THANDA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners

There was a dual declaration in this race wherein App. S. A. Amit was declared to ride SUPER BOLT by Tr. Mansoor Shah and DAZZLE N DAZE by Tr. Magansingh P. Jodha. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring App. S. A. Amit on his charge DAZZLE N DAZE without his consent.. He was subsequently permitted to declare Apprentice Parbat Singh.

At the start, JACKNIFE (D. S. Daman, dr.7) shifted in on to MANO NA MANO (R. Shelar, dr. 6) and thereafter further shifted in on to WONDER STORY (Shrikant Kamble, dr.5) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. App. D. S. Daman has been cautioned.

Soon after the start, SUPER BOLT (App. S. A. Amit, dr.10) shifted in thereby tightening the field on his inside, due to which ROMAN GOLD (David Breux) had to be checked and drop back. App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey Santosh G. (ENSIGN) reported that his reins had slipped in the last 50 metres and he had to gather the same. This being his first offence, no action has been initiated.

After the race, STRIKING STORY was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(59) – THE D.K.ASHISH TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

At the start, VIA AMORIS (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped outwards.

Soon after the start, SPEAR OF TRIUM (Dashrath Singh, dr.5) shifted in on to PALACE GIRL (App. Shahrukh Khan, dr.4) and CEZANNE (D. S. Daman, dr.3) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back, due to which VIA AMORIS (P. Trevor) was inconvenienced. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

Approaching 800 metres, DON CORLEONE (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in on to DESERT RAGE (App. Vishal), who in turn shifted in forcing Jockey Dashrath Singh (SPEAR OF TRIUM) to check his mount and change course thereby inconveniencing CEZANNE (D. S. Daman). App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.

Passing 800 metres, PALACE GIRL (App. Shahrukh Khan) shifted in and went across STORMY PRINCESS (App. H. Zeeshan) forcing the latter to be checked. App. Shahrukh Khan has been cautioned.

After the race, CEZANNE and STORMY PRINCESS (examined on 21/08/2016) were trotted and found to be sound. HUNT FOR HEADS had lost its left fore plate.

RACE NO.7(60) – THE A.J.WADIA PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

GALTERO (D. A. Naik) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner previously, Trainer C. Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

ANVILL STAR (P. S. Chouhan) also played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order. THERE SHE GOES (App. Parbat Singh) and MAGICAL DANCER (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 6 lengths and 4 lengths respectively. Trainers Sanjay Kolse and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge/s more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, SEACAUCUS (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.12) jumped outwards on to BIDSTONE HILL (Abhishek Habbu, dr.13)

Passing 800 metres, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (SCARLET PRINCE), in an effort to settle his mount, jostled with SEACAUCUS (App. N. B. Kuldeep).

Approaching 200 metres, LUCKY STRIKE (T. S. Jodha) shifted out and at the same time PASS THE GLORY (S. Joseph) shifted in, due to which BIDSTONE HILL (Abhishek Habbu) who was racing between them, was tightened for room and dropped back.

After the race, BIDSTONE HILL and LUCKY STRIKE were trotted and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. SEACRETS (1^st race), SQUARE MOON (2^nd race), CHEF D’OEUVRE (3^rd race), UNFORGETTABLE YOU (4^th race), JACKNIFE (5^th race), DON CORLEONE (6^th race) and MAGICAL DANCER (7^th race), and the special sample of SAIL PAST (1^st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
