RACE DAY REPORTS

(EVENING RACING)

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  3 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. 

 

At the request of Trainer S. S. Shah, GRACE AND MERCY was examined at 08:00 a.m. on 30th January, 2016 and was found to have developed a painful swelling on his left fore tendon. As such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race. 

 

On a request from Trainer Vinay Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer Narendra Lagad to saddle his charge CHIVALROUS KNIGHT & MOONDROPS in the 2nd race & AZALEA in the 4th race respectively, at his (Trainer Vinay Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(158) - THE SANTORINI STAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES -

 

Soon after the start, EMERALD FORTUNE (App. Vishal) shifted out due to which AMAZON CAT (Kishore Kadam) shied outwards on to NOBLE LADY (C. S. Jodha) who in turn went on to LOVEABLE LOCKS (S. P. Ranjane) who was tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey Kishore Kadam has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, POLAR ZONE (App. S. J. Sunil dr. 8) shifted in and went across LIGHT OF ARABIA (App. H. Zeeshan dr. 7) thereafter passing the 900 metres, POLAR ZONE (App. S. J. Sunil) further shifted in on to ROYAL SAPPHIRE (App. R. Ajinkya) who in turn went on to BE COOL (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. App. S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

Passing the 900 metres, AMAZON CAT (Kishore Kadam) shifted in on to EMERALD FORTUNE (App. Vishal) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 800 metres, NOBLE LADY (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to EMERALD FORTUNE (App. Vishal) who had to be checked.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of LOVEABLE LOCKS (S. P. Ranjane) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, LIGHT OF ARABIA, LOVEABLE LOCKS & BE COOL were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(159) - THE DARTMOUTH COLLEGE TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES -

 

Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not being present during the saddling of his charge ROYAL ÉCLAIR.

 

Soon after the start, ROYAL WISH (S. P. Ranjane) shifted out and went on to ARMEL (Hanumant Singh) who had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, MOONDROPS (App. H. Zeeshan) was observed to have lost its footing thereby unbalancing the rider. Thereafter, approaching the 600 metres the mare once again lost her footing.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, GOLDEN GLORY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby inconveniencing TERRIFIC (App. Yash Narredu).

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar (PRACS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence with regard to the use of the whip during the Mumbai Meeting, his Jockey’s license has been suspended with effect from 20th February 2016 to 21st February 2016 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, JAQK was observed to have a cut injury on the left fore coronet. ARMEL, CHIVALROUS KNIGHT & MOON DROPS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(160) - THE CORNELL UNIVERSITY TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES -

 

Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.2,000/- for producing his charge ELEKTRA KING and PRETTY IN PATPONG with the wrong saddle in the paddock subsequently the same was rectified before the horses left the paddock.

 

ASHWA ADITEE (App. S. Joseph), SEACRETS (App. Bhawani Singh) and JOY OF LIFE (S. Mosin) jumped out slowly at the start, losing about two lengths each.

 

At the start, ASHWA ADITEE (App. S. Joseph dr. 3) jumped outwards and bumped SECRET OATH (C. S. Jodha dr. 5) both horses were slowly off.

 

At the start, JOY OF LIFE (S. Mosin dr. 9) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Soon after the start, SEACRETS (App. Bhawani Singh) shifted in on to PRETTY IN PATPONG (Hanumant Singh) who had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, SHADES OF GLORY (P. Trevor) shifted in and went across SEACRETS (App. Bhawani Singh) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 600 metres, ASHWA ADITEE (App. S. Joseph) hung out despite the rider’s efforts as a result bumped and cut across JOY OF LIFE (S. Mosin) who clipped its heels and fell. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey V. R. Jagadeesh (GLORIOUS GIFT) reported that his mount hung out under pressure. Trainer has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 600 metres, JOY OF LIFE (S. Mosin) stumbled and fell. On examination, painful swelling on the left fore shoulder and elbow was noticed and the horse was unable to get up. First aid treatment was given immediately, however after the Trainer’s consent the horse was euthanized on humanitarian grounds. Equine Hospital reported complete rupture of the radius after postmortem.

 

After the race, SEACRETS was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WINDS OF CHANGE, SILVER EDGE & GLORIOUS GIFT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(161) - THE DARTMOUTH COLLEGE TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES -

 

Soon after the start, MILITARY GIRL (S. P. Ranjane) shifted out.

 

Passing the 200 metres, THE OTHER SONG (Dashrath Singh) was hampered for room and had to shift out.

 

After the race, App. R. Ajinkya (COLEY) reported that he lost his whip at about 150 metres. This being his third offence, the matter has been referred to the stewards for necessary action.

 

After the race, App. Yash Narredu (QUATRO) reported that his mount hung-in in the initial stage of the race and in the straight, hung out under pressure. Trainer Mallesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MILITARY GIRL was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CRACKLIN ROSIE, SAMURAI, AZALEA & SPEED MAGIC were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(162) - THE HARVARD UNIVERSITY TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES -

 

At the start, DHISHOOM (Dashrath Singh dr. 3) shifted in on to RIDGEWOOD STAR (A. Sandesh dr. 2) who in turn went on to EXCLAMATION (T. S. Jodha dr. 1).

 

At the start, SILKEN EYES (Suraj Narredu dr. 6) jumped outwards at the same time ANTEROS (P. Trevor dr. 7) also jumped outwards and went on to ABU AL BUKHOOSH (Akash Agarwal dr. 8).

 

After the race, GOOD THING was observed to have a cut injury on the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.6(163) - THE CORNELL UNIVERSITY TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES -

 

At the start DANCING PRINCE (App. Yash Narredu dr.4) shifted out, at the same time SEACAUCUS (Altaf Sayyed dr.6) shifted in inconveniencing CUT DIAMOND (Shrikant Kamble dr.5)

 

Soon after the start, IMPERIAL PRINCESS (App. S. J. Sunil) shifted in tightening the field due to which ROMANTIC LASS (A. Sandesh) had to be checked and as a result went on to VENI VIDI VICI (Amyn Merchant) who in turn went on to DANCING PRINCE (App. Yash Narredu dr.4) forcing the latter to bump THEN AND NOW (Vikram Jodha) App. S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 300 metres, VENI VIDI VICI (Amyn Merchant) shifted in due to which IMPERIAL PRINCESS (App. S. J. Sunil) shied in and went across THEN AND NOW (Vikram Jodha) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 200 Metres VENI VEDI VICI (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby inconveniencing IMPERIAL PRINCESS (App. S. J. Sunil)

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the Running & Riding of SEACAUCUS (Altaf Sayyed) in this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, IMPERIAL PRINCESS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(164) - THE YALE UNIVERSITY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES -

 

At the start, CHOTE NAWAB (R. Shelar dr. 4) shifted out on to MIZILLA GOLD (App. N. B. Kuldeep dr. 5) at the same time TOUGH ENOUGH (S. G. Prasad dr.6) shifted out and made contact with MAGICAL DANCER (App. Raghuveer Singh dr.7).

 

After the race, App. S. J. Sunil (RUNNING STORM) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer S. Mangalorkar has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that after the race, RUNNING STORM showed symptoms of distress in the paddock. The gelding was washed with cold water in the Saddling Enclosure after which he recovered and was sent to the stables.

 

After the race, CHOTE NAWAB & STAR HIGHNESS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(165) - THE BROWN UNIVERSITY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES -

 

Trainer P. Shroff has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for error in starting declaration in respect to the shoes worn by his charge STATEIRA, wherein he had declared “Aluminium plates” and the shoes put on were “Aluminium, both fore bonded shoes”.

 

At the request of Jockey R. Vaibhav (AINRA), the saddle on his mount was readjusted at the starting gate.

 

At the start, SPEAR OF TRIUM (T. S. Jodha dr. 11) was observed to have stumbled.

 

At the start, NASCAR (C. S. Jodha dr. 6) jumped inwards and went on to UNDISPUTED (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5).

 

Soon after the start, AINRA (R. Vaibhav) shifted in and went on to VALENTINO (App. S. J. Sunil) who had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, STATEIRA (P. Trevor dr. 15) shifted in and went across SPEAR OF TRIUM (T. S. Jodha dr. 11) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 800 metres, BLITZKRIEG (Dashrath Singh) racing between STAR (App. Bhawani Singh) and ICE AGE (App. G. Amit) was tightened for room and had to be checked.

 

Passing the 100 Metres, STAR (App. Bhawani Singh) shifted in due to which BLITZKREIG (Dashrath Singh) was hampered for room and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, NASCAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ICE AGE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BASIC LIFE & AINRA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(166) - THE COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES -

 

HOLY BULL (Hanumant Singh) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, CHA CHA CHA (Dashrath Singh dr.3) shifted in on to PAPPILLON (N. S. Parmar dr.2)

 

Passing 300 metres, MULTIGLORY (P. Trevor) shifted out thereby inconveniencing DRACO (Colm O’Donoghue) who had to be checked.

 

After the race, HOLLY BULL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PAPPILLON was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.10(167) - THE HARVARD UNIVERSITY TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES -

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, TEMERITY (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to have shifted out, going across DIBABA (Dashrath Singh). On questioning jockey Neraj Rawal stated that the filly shied and shifted outwards.

 

Passing the 400 metres, PURE SIN (A. Sandesh) shifted out inconveniencing DIBABA (Dashrath Singh)

 

After the race, EIGER’S TIGER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.11(168) - THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES -

 

At the start, GAABRRIO (App. Bhawani Singh dr.4) jumped out and whipped around and refused to raise a gallop. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 150 Metres, N. S. Parmar (KOMANDANT) made his run between ANOTHER ACE (App.S.J.Sunil) and FLYING DRAGON (A.Sandesh) but was hampered due to insufficient room.

 

After the race Jockey Suraj Narredu (EXCELONCE) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight despite his efforts to correct the same. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the gelding to race.

 

Jockey J. Chinoy (NIGHT OF STARS) has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, KOMANDANT, MAGIC IN THE AIR, EXCELONCE & GUNGA DIN were found to be sound.

NOBLE LADY (1st race), RESILIENT (2nd race), SHADES OF GLORY (3rd race), QUATRO (4th race), GOOD THING (5th race), ROMANTIC LASS (6th race), KOROL (7th race), HIROHAMA (8th race), KANDINSKY (9th race), ST. ANDREWS (10th  race) and GRAND VITESSE (11th race), as also that of LOVEABLE LOCKS (1st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
