RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

 

 RACE NO.1(150) – THE IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING MULTI-MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

At the start IRIDESCENCE (Neeraj Rawal dr.3) shifted out on to LANCELOT (C. S. Jodha dr.4) who in turn went on to STARRY MOMENT (R. Vaibhav dr.5) who was tightened for room. 

 

Soon after the start, HOLY SMOKE (Colm O’Donoghue) shifted out thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which FEARLESS NADIA (Dashrath Singh) and SPIRIT AND TRUTH (David Allan) had to be checked.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of PERSIAN PRINCE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PERSIAN PRINCE, BABYLON, SPIRIT AND TRUTH and STARRY MOMENT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(151) – THE BREEDERS’ OF INDIA CHAMPIONSHIP STAKES: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6

 

AL SHAMSHEER (App. Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey A. Sandesh, rider of SHIVALIK SHOWERS (Placed Third) against BOOKER JONES (P. Trevor, Placed Second). The reason being, at 300 metres when he was gaining ground, BOOKER JONES (P. Trevor) shifted in and took his ground whereby he had to stop riding and pull his horse out and this interference had cost him certain second place.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

Jockey P. Trevor (BOOKER JONES) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, the Jockey stated that he had used the whip as a corrective measure as his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer S. S. Attaollahi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, QUASAR, BARACCHUS and BOOKER JONES were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(152)  – THE GOOL S. POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 8

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that on the way to the Saddling Enclosure, SAFFIRE SONG reared up and fell and sustained injuries. Also, bleeding from the nostrils was noticed. Hence, SAFFIRE SONG was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the filly from the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start CATALEYA (App. Yash Narredu) shifted out at the same time HONEY DEW (P. Trevor) shifted in due to which SAFDAR (N. S. Parmar) had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 800 Metres FROSTY (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in and went across SAFDAR (N. S. Parmar) who had to be steadied. Thereafter, FROSTY (P. S. Chouhan) further shifted in inconveniencing CATALEYA (App. Yash Narredu) and MESOPOTAMIA (Suraj Narredu) jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned.

   

After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (MESOPOTAMIA) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Tr. C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

CATALEYA (App. Yash Narredu) was placed fifth and SAFDAR (N. S. Parmar) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.4(153) – THE TRM MULTI-MILLION SPRINT CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  7

 

At the start, BRAHMACHARI (P. Trevor, dr. 4) shifted in and bumped SUPER SUNSHINE (Suraj Narredu, dr. 3), who in turn went on to MALEFICENT (App. R. Ajinkya, dr. 2).

 

At the start, GOLDBERG (David Allan, dr. 6) was observed to have shifted in sharply.

 

Jockey David Allan (GOLDBERG) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (SUPER SUNSHINE) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount

 

After the race, MALEFICENT and MERCHANTOFVENICE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(154) – THE VILLOO POONAWALLA INDIAN OAKS (GR.1): (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 17

 

At the start, SOLANGE (Akshay, dr. 6) shifted in on to NIFTY (S. Zervan, dr. 5) who in turn went on to HEAVEN IS HERE (David Allan dr.4).

 

At the start, AVANT GARDE (C. Alford, dr. 14) jumped outwards due to which the rider was unbalanced momentarily.

 

Soon after the start, JEANNINE (Dashrath Singh, dr. 7) shifted in and went across SOLANGE (Akshay, dr. 6) and then went on to HEATHER (Jim Crowley, dr. 3) and MYRTLEWOOD (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 1), causing both the horses to be checked . Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Soon after the start NIFTY (S. Zervan) and SWEEPING STAR (C. S. Jodha) were inconvenienced due to a tightly packed field.

 

Approaching the 600 Metres HEAVEN IS HERE (David Allan) racing between CAMERON (P. Tervor) and WAVEAFTERWAVE (Colm O’DONOGHUE) was tightened for room. Thereafter, HEAVEN IS HERE (David Allan) had to shifted out to avoid clipping the heels of HEATHER (Jim Crowley).

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CHEF D’OEUVRE) reported the loss of whip at about 200 metres from the winning post.

 

After the race jockey Suraj Narredu (STAR FORMATION) reported that his saddle had shifted forward during the race. Trainer Bipin Salvi has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

 

Jockey David Alan (HEAVEN IS HERE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. However as his mount hang-in in the straight the same was used as a corrective measure. Trainer S. Padmanabhan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, CAMERON and NOSTALGIC MEMORIES were found to be sound, CAMERON had lost its left fore plate.

 

HEAVEN IS HERE (David Allan) was placed fifth and CAMERON (P. Trevor) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.6(155) – THE  AT THE RACES CHAMPIONSHIP STAKES:  (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9 

 

Passing 1200 metres, PERFECTIONIST (App. Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across APACHE (Dashrath Singh) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, RULE DOWNUNDER was observed to have an injury at the right nostril.

 

RACE NO.7(156) – THE ASIAN RACING FEDERATION TROPHY:  - (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 14 

 

SIR DESMOND (Dashrath Singh) played up in the stall and hooked one of its hind legs on the side platform. The colt was taken out and examined by the Club’s V. O. who certified him fit to race. However, after being re-stalled, SIR DESMOND again behaved in a similar manner, as such, he was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.

BOLD MARCH (A. Sandesh) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle.  SOVEREIGNSKY (App. Yash Narredu) and STAR COUNCILLOR (S. John) were reluctant to be stalled.  Trainers S. K. Sunderji, Karthik G. and M. Narredu have been asked to give their respective charge/s more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter, at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, THOMAS MORE (Jim Crowley, dr. 8) shifted in on to ANGEL GIRL (A. Imran Khan, dr. 7), who in turn went on to NEVER SAY NEVER (C. Alford, dr. 6).

 

At the start, SANG ROYAL (David Allan, dr. 5) shifted in and bumped KRIEGER (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 4). Thereafter, SANG ROYAL further shifted in and tightened. KRIEGER (Neeraj Rawal), forcing the latter to drop back, due to which ENGLAND (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 3) was inconvenienced.

 

Soon after the start, STAR COUNCILLOR (S. John, dr. 15) shifted in on to ACCOLADE (P. Trevor, dr. 13) who went on to ANGEL GIRL (A. Imran Khan, dr. 7). Thereafter, STAR COUNCILLOR further shifted in on to SANG ROYAL (David Allan, dr. 5) who was tightened for room. Jockey S. John has been fined Rs.5,000/- for cutting across the field.

 

Passing the 200 Metres NEVER SAY NEVER (C. Alford) shifted in thereby inconveniencing SANG ROYAL (David Allan) along the rails.

 

Jockey S. John (STAR COUNCILLOR) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Jockey C. Alford (NEVER SAY NEVER) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, Jockey Imran Chisty (SPIRITED REGENT) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.

 

After the race, ACCOLADE and SPIRITED REGENT were found to be sound.

 

ENGLAND (P. S. Chouhan) was placed fifth and NEVER SAY NEVER (C. Alford) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.8(157) – THE AmTOTE  INTERNATIONAL HANDICAP MILLION: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners –16

 

Trainer C. D. Katrak has been fined 2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge EXODUS wherein the gelding was declared to have “Aluminium, both hind high heels” but on examination was found to have “plain Aluminium shoes”.

 

EXODUS (App. Yash Narredu) was reluctant to reach the starting point thus delaying the start. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to school his charge during a mock race to proceed to the start and ensure that the gelding reaches the starting point in time, in the future.

 

At the start PEARL SECRET (A. Sandesh dr.5) shifted out on to ANCIENT GLORY (App. N. B. Kuldeep dr.6) who in turn shifted out taking the ground of SNOW BLAST (Vikram Jodha dr. 7).

 

Approaching the 800 Metres GODSENT (T. S. Jodha) shifted in tightening PEARL SECRET (A. Sandesh) who had to be checked. Jockey T. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 800 Metres PARAMOUR (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in due to which CARRALISA (P. Trevor) had to be checked and in the process shifted out and went wide taking BATMAN (Suraj Narredu) and BAY OF LOVE (Imran Chisty) along. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been asked to be more careful in the future.   

 

Approaching the 200 Metres ALISHAS PET (A. Imran Khan) Shifted out and went across SNOW BLAST (Vikram Jodha) who had to be checked and thereafter ALISHAS PET (A. Imran Khan) went on to SPEED OF SOUND (Dashrath Singh) forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey A.Imran Khan has been fined Rs.2000/-

 

In the final stages of the race PARAMOUR (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out under urgings on to ALISHAS PET (A. Imran Khan) who in turn went on to GODSENT (T. S. Jodha) jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2000/- 

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (CARRALISA) reported that his mount was trying to run out at the bend. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the filly to race.

 

After the race, CARRALISA and PARAMOUR were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. HOLY SMOKE (1st race), QUASAR (2nd race), SERENITA (3rd race), BRAHMACHARI & GOLDBERG (Dead-heat - 4th race), MYRTLEWOOD (5th race), YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (6th race), DEVOTED EYES (7th race) and PEARL SECRET (8th race), as also that of HONEY DEW & LADY DANEHILL (3rd race) and CHEF D’OEUVRE, WAVEAFTERWAVE and SHIVALIK HEROINE (5th race), and the special sample of  PERSIAN PRINCE (1st race) and MALEFICENT (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : MERCY PETITION FROM APP. S. J. SUNIL IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS APPRENTICE JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 14/01/2016 TO 06/02/2016 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) FOR DANGEROUS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “COMMITMENT” IN RACE NO.80 – THE POLISH PATRIOT PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 26th DECEMBER, 2015 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 24th January, 2016 considered Mercy Petition from App. S. J. Sunil in the above connection and having heard him/his Master, Mr. Sanjay Kolse and having deliberated the matter, decided to to reduce the period of his suspension to four race days i.e. up to and inclusive of 24th January, 2016. However, App. S. J. Sunil was told that the balance period of two race days has been kept as a suspended sentence till the end of the Pune Meeting 2016 i.e. if he is again found guilty of dangerous riding till the end of the Pune Meeting 2016, then the aforesaid suspended sentence of two race days would immediately come into force and effect and which aforesaid punishment would be in addition to any other punishment which the Stewards may impose on him for dangerous riding.
