PUNE MEETING 2015, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 25TH OCTOBER, 2015.

(PENETROMETER: 3.7; GOING: GOOD TO FIRM)

 

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM 2000 METRES TO 1300 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY FROM 1300 METRES TO 500 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY PASSING THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Tr.Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges EMERALD FORTUNE and GYAHANA in the 1st race, at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Vinesh, permission was granted to Tr.Vishal Gaikwad to saddle his charge PLAN B in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Vinesh’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(225) – THE ASSESSED PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Soon after the start, MAKE IT SHINE (App.D.M.Ayyar, dr.4) shifted out and at the same time MT TIANMEN (App.D.S.Daman, dr.8) shifted in, as a result GYAHANA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) and WILD SEA (Shrikant Kamble, dr.7) were tightened.

 

Approaching 800 metres, MAKE IT SHINE (App.D.M.Ayyar) shifted in on to EMERALD FORTUNE (Altaf Sayyed) forcing the latter to check and drop back.

 

Passing 800 metres, PEZZONOVANTE (App.R.Ajinkya) leaned on to GLORIOUS CROWN (App.S.J.Sunil) who was steadied.

 

App.R.Ajinkya (PEZZONOVANTE) reported the loss of whip passing the 300 metres. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit a report.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MAKE IT SHINE (App.D.M.Ayyar).

 

RACE NO.2(226) – THE STAR SHINE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

ORIENTAL RULE (J.Chinoy) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

WAJOOD (Dashrath Singh) was observed to maintain an erratic course in the straight while under pressure.

 

Jockey S. Zervan (AARON’S) reported that the filly had grabbed on to the bit from the left side and on turning for home drifted out. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that the filly had returned sound, but had a wolf tooth on the right side. Trainer C. Rajendra has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey J.Chinoy (ORIENTAL RULE) reported that soon after the start he felt that his mount was uncomfortable and was not willing to raise a gallop.

 

After the race, ORIENTAL RULE and  WAJOOD were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(227) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Soon after the start, CEASARINA (Dashrath Singh) stopped momentarily and veered to the outside resulting in the rider being dislodged. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 100 metres, SEVEN SEAS (C.S.Jodha) shifted in on to POLAR ZONE (App.S.J.Sunil). On questioning, Jockey C.S.Jodha stated that his mount was hanging in. Trainer B.Prakash has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of ALECTAR (P. Trevor) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, NICANORA was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(228) – THE  DEMOCRATICUS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, AEOLUS MAXIMUS was examined at 0830 hours on 25/10/2015 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg with swelling at the right fore fetlock. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

SHIVALIK SKIES (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to PURPLE PARADE (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.7).

 

The rein of Jockey P.Trevor (SILVANO) was observed to have slipped passing 200 metres. On questioning, Jockey P.Trevor confirmed the same and added that the filly was hanging in badly. Trainer B.Prakash has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Passing 100 metres, SURPRISE (App.D.M.Ayyar) was observed to have stumbled and fell. The Sr.V.O. reported that on examination, the filly was observed to have broken its right fore cannon bone, hence she was euthanized on humane grounds..

 

RACE NO.5(229) – THE  SMT.SHANTIDEVI GOYAL MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

HEART OF THE CITY (Neeraj Rawal dr. 7) was slowly off and in an effort to cover lost ground, the Jockey brushed the horse and found himself behind a wall of horses, as such, he had to steady his mount in order to make room for himself.

 

 RACE NO.6(230) – THE GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI MILLION: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

                                                                                                                                                                  

PHENOMENAL MEMORY (S.Zervan) was placed fifth and DAYTONA (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.7(231) – THE SHAMU CHAVAN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

PALACE GIRL (A.Sandesh) was restless in the stall.  ROCK THE TURF (J.Chinoy) planted, losing considerable ground at the start. Trainers Rehanullah Khan and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (PALACE GIRL, dr.3) reported that PRETTY HOT (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.2) shifted out on to him soon after the start.

 

Approaching 200 metres, PALACE GIRL (A.Sandesh) shifted out on to WINDS OF CHANGE (N.S.Parmar).

 

The rein of App.R.Ajinkya (MR MORRISON) was observed to have slipped passing 150 metres.. App.R.Ajinkya has been asked to be more careful in the future. 

 

After the race, PALACE GIRL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(232) – THE IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING & GOFFS R.W.I.T.C. LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

REMEMBER ME (S.Zervan) lost about 3 lengths at the start.

 

Approaching 500 metres, STARISTOCRAT (App.Yash Narredu), who was racing between SHIVALIK STORM (Neeraj Rawal) and AGOSTINI (P.Trevor), was tightened for room and dropped back. Subsequently App.Yash Narredu reported that his mount felt uncomfortable and was tiring in the straight.

 

After the race, STARISTOCRAT was found to be sound. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, STARISTOCRAT was scoped at the Equine Hospital and found to be EIPH (Gr.2).

 

RACE NO.9(233) – THE SMT.SHANTIDEVI GOYAL MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

NUSH (N.S.Parmar) whipped around after the start and did not take part in the race. Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (INDIAN SERENADE) has been fined Rs.500/- for failing to wear his racing goggles.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race LUCKY PINEAPPLE was observed to be in distress. Cold water bath was given and the gelding was treated symptomatically and after recovery was sent to the stables.

 

After the race, INDIAN SERENADE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left fore cannon.  FLANKER and LUCKY CHARM (examined on 26/10/2015) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(234) – THE DEMOCRATICUS  PLATE (DIV.I):: (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

CRITICAL STRIKE (S.G.Prasad) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

App.S.J.Sunil (ROMANO) was observed to have dropped his hands passing 100 metres, thereby losing the fourth place.. After questioning App.S.J.Sunil and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, his  Apprentice Jockey’s license was suspended for 19th November 2015 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, MONEYWISE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, B FIFTY TWO and ROMANO (examined at the stables) were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. MT TIANMEN (1st race), ICE CUBE BABY (2nd race), ALECTAR (3rd race), SOLANGE (4th race), ALDERLEY EDGE (5th race), COSTA DEL SOL (6th race), SINDBAAD (7th race), SHIVALIK SHOWERS (8th race), INVINCIBLE (9th race) and SEA LAGOON (10th race), as also that of BOOKER JONES & SNOWING (8th race), and the special sample of INDIAN SERENADE (9th race) and MONEY WISE (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
