RE : NEGLIGENCE IN THE YARD OF TRAINER B.PRAKASH:

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 1st August, 2015 considered note dated 30th July, 2015 from the Stipendiary Stewards in reference to the above incident. They interviewed Trainer B.Prakash and having heard him, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him. The Stewards noted that despite being aware of the Notice in the Racing Calendar “Re : Tampering with Electrical Fitting, etc. in the Stable area” Tr.B.Prakash carried out changes in the electrical fitting in his stable through a private electrician without informing the Club Authorities. This act of his led to an incident wherein a horse lost its life. Hence the Stewards viewed this incident very seriously and held him guilty of gross negligence in discharge of his duties as a Trainer. However, keeping in mind that he had admitted his mistake and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.50,000/- and to warn him for the future.

They interviewed Trainer B.Prakash and Apprentice K.Nazil and having heard them, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App.K.Nazil. However, since the Trainer withdrew his complaint and this involves the livelihood of App.K.Nazil, the Stewards decided to give him one last chance and did not initiate action against him on this occasion. He was advised that in future if he is not able to attend work for any reason,  he must inform the Trainer and the Club Authorities. He was warned that on a repetition of a similar behavior, severe action may be initiated against him which may involve withdrawal of his Apprentice Jockey’s license.
