RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 9 METRES WIDE FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT ON THE ROUND COURSE.

RACE NO.1(10) – THE ACCADEMIA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 8 Runners

THEORY (Neeraj Rawal) jumped out awkwardly scrapping the gates.

Near 1200 metres SOUL CENTRIC (S.Mosin)) shifted in and inconvenienced SAVAGE GARDEN (Dashrath Singh). Jockey S.Mosin has been cautioned.

After the race, SAVAGE GARDEN was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and right fore coronet and SOUL CENTRIC had a cut injury at the left hind coronet.

RACE NO.2(11) – THE SAINT EMILION PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

MIGHTY SPLENDOR (Dharmendar) hung in throughout the race in spite of the Jockey’s best efforts and hampered WIND OF THE HILLS (App.N.Nadeem) near 1200 metres. Trainer S Mangalorkar has been asked to take remedial measures and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

After the race, WIND AND RAIN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, MIGHTY SPLENDOR was found to be sound. The mare had lost its right hind plate.

RACE NO.3(12) – THE AMOROUS KNIGHT TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

SILVANO (Kishore Kadam) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer B.Prakash has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, VELVET AMARI was found to be sound. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, VELVET AMARI was scoped at the Equine Hospital and found to be EIPH (Gr.I).

RACE NO.4(13) – THE CLASSIC TALK PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

After the race, CHRISTMAS EVE was found to be sound. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, CHRISTMAS EVE was scoped at the Equine Hospital and found to be EIPH (Gr.II). An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of CHRISTMAS and a report will be submitted shortly.

RACE NO.5(14) – THE AIR DASH PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

At the request of Trainer S.Waheed, HOME ADVANTAGE was examined at 0700 hours on 24/07/2015 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg with swelling at the right fore fetlock. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for using a snaffle bit on her charge DOMINGO without taking prior permission from the Stipendiary Stewards.

After the race, INVINCIBLE was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon. HOLY BULL was found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(15) – THE A.J.WADIA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 18 Runners

MAKE WAY FOR ME (A.Sandesh) ducked the front gates, breaking the same. Considering the awkward casting, MAKE WAY FOR ME was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. IMPERIAL PRINCESS (App.Yash Narredu), ROCKING (Vikram Jodha) and IN MY LIFE (S.Mosin) were restless in the stall. Trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha, Altaf Hussain, H.J.Antia and S.S.Shah have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

QUIZICAL (App.D.M.Ayyar) stood awkwardly in the gate and was not allowing the rider to settle. Also, the filly jumped out awkwardly throwing her head, thus losing about 5 lengths at the start. Since the filly had behaved in the similar manner previously, Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race.

Jockey R.Shelar (DIVINE SPARK) reported that his saddle had slipped during the race. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Jockey P.Trevor (BIDSTONE HILL) reported that his mount ran green during the race and turning for home the filly inconvenienced VENI VIDI VICI (App.N.Nadeem).

At 600 metres BLUE FLAME (S.P.Ranjane) hung in and jostled with ALDERLEY EDGE (C.S.Jodha) who held position. Subsequently ALDERLY EDGE shifted in and made contact with BLUE FLAME. On questioning Jockey S.P.Ranjane, he stated that his mount was hanging-in. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, MILLENIUM FALCON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, IMPERIAL PRINCESS and SUNNY SEA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(16) – THE P.HADOW TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

REMEMBER ME (S.Zervan) jumped out awkwardly, losing about 3 lengths.

When questioned, Jockey P.Kamlesh (EGYPTIANA) reported that his mount did not respond to his urgings in the straight. The Sr.Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the filly and he reported that no abnormality was detected. The Stipendiary Stewards will be questioning the Trainer regarding the poor performance of the filly and will submit a report.

HIDDEN ASSET (A.J.Nilesh) hung out in the straight. Instead of changing his whip hand and correcting his mount, the Jockey continued using the whip with the right hand thereby aggravating the outward movement of the mare thereby taking APACHE (P.Trevor), who was travelling behind, outward. Jockey A.J.Nilesh’s license has been suspended for 8^th August,2015 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, PEPITO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, FORTUNE HUNTER found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, GOLD BAG was observed to have a cut injury at the right stifle. EGYPTIANA was found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(17) – THE A.J.WADIA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 18 Runners

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, SNOW BLAST was examined at 1015 hours on 24/07/2015 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg with swelling at the left knee area. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

QUARTZ (App.Yash Narredu) was fractious in the stall and ROYAL WISH (C.Umesh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Rehanullah Khan and H.J.Antia have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Passing 1000 metres, DEVOTED (R.Shelar) was tightened due to crowding of the field and lost position.

After the race, NATIONAL GOLD was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon and SUPER ICON had a gum injury. ROYAL SAPPHIRE, REALITY, ROYAL WISH and YARDSTICK (examined on 25/07/2015) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.9(18) – THE ORIENTAL EXPRESS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 14 Runners

ADMISSION (App.S.Joseph) reared up as the start was given.

TRUE HEIR (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) took an awkward jump.

VICTORY DANCER (C.Umesh) hung-in during the race. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of BIG BANG and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, VICTORY DANCER, ADMISSION, MOUNTAIN TREASURE and BIG BANG (examined at the stables) were found to be sound.

BLAVATSKY (1^st race), STAR OF BABYLON (2^nd race), FEARLESS NADIA (3^rd race), ANOTHER CONQUEST (4^th race), ZODIAC (5^th race), LUCKY CHARM (6^th race), GOLD BAG (7^th race), STRATEGIC MOVE (8^th race) and ALETA (9^TH RACE), and the special sample of WIND AND RAIN (2^nd race), CHRISTMAS EVE (4^th race), MILLENIUM FALCON (6^th race) and EGYPTIANA & PEPITO (7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
