RACE NO.224 – THE STAR SHINE PLATE: (About)1600 Metres – 10 Runners

ADAMS WING (Kavraj Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. DREAM YUGA (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Jockey Dashrath Singh (DREAM YUGA) reported that he could not follow his Instructions which were to go to the front as the mare jumped out slowly.

Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge ADAMS WING in this race which the filly won as compared to its previous runs. The Trainer stated that he did not expect the win since he had not given the filly a chance considering her performance in the previous starts and also there were some horses who had some form coming into this race. He added that this was a weaker set as the 2nd placed horse, GUNS N ROSES, was an 8 year old. He said that probably the going suited his filly and since she was close to the front runners, it was to her advantage as the horses found it difficult to come from behind. He further added that he had run the filly as it was last of the Race days and the filly was available at longer odds. The explanation was noted.

Trainer Rehanullah Khan was questioned regarding the performance of his charge GUNS N ROSES coupled with the drift in odds. The Trainer said that his instructions were to go to the front. He stated that according to him this was the best run of the gelding. He added that the gelding should not have been a favourite as there were some other horses with form in this race. He said that the winner galloped better today. Also, there was kick back near 800 metres which may have affected the running of his horse which the Jockey had also stated after the race. To another question, the Trainer stated that the odds were beyond his control. The explanation was noted.

ADDITIONAL REPORT/S:

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “ZAAN” IN RACE NO 183 RUN ON 4TH OCTOBER 2014 AS COMPARED TO ITS PERVIOUS RUNS DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2014  – TRAINER ALTAMAASH A AHMED

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed regarding the captioned subject matter. The Trainer stated that ZAAN was a maiden coming into this race. He added that he had been trying to win with this horse and has tried all possible ways in an effort to win. He said that as compared to its previous start, the gelding ran 400 metres more this time and that there was no common horse  Also, in Race No.166 which was run over 1600 metres, thought the gelding had finished 6th, he was about 7 lengths behind the winner. To another question, the trainer stated that he had given the gelding a chance.

The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 25th October, 2014 considered the above report and having deliberated the matter, decided that no action was called for.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “HUDSON HAWK” IN RACE NO 197 RUN ON 11TH OCTOBER 2014   – TRAINER SK SUNDERJI :

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer SK Sunderji with regard to the captioned subject matter. The Trainer stated that after its race in Race No 84, the gelding had a sore back for which he was treated. He said that after giving sufficient rest he has raced the gelding in this race and due to the back problem he had taken care to declare his Apprentice Rider so as to take 5 kg off the gelding’s back. He added that the gelding did not show back problem after its race in Race no 197. He further stated that in the previous race the gelding was poorly drawn i.e. Draw 14 and had travelled wide throughout the race which may have contributed to his poor performance.

The explanation was noted for future reference.

-------------

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “TAMMY O” IN RACE NO 212 RUN ON 17TH OCTOBER 2014 AS COMPARED TO ITS PREVIOUS START IN RACE NO 170 RUN ON 27TH SEPTEMBER 2014 – TRAINER ADIL DAJEE

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer  Adil Dajee as also App.Yash Narredu (Rider in Race No.170), along with his Master, Trainer M.Narredu, with regard to the captioned subject matter.

Trainer Adil Dajee stated that his Instructions in the previous start were to take a good jump, be in well up position and it would be acceptable if the filly goes to the front but if someone else disputes the lead then to be 2nd, 3rd or 4th position. The Trainer said that the filly met with interference soon after the start, and lost position and was practically last. He said that being an Apprentice, Mr.Yash Narredu panicked and used up the filly in the early part and thereafter the filly had to travel wide as the Jockey did not get a chance to bring her close to the rails and also, ZENOFIC had forced his filly to travel further out rounding the bend and in the straight and she had to cover more ground. He added that the timing clocked by the horses on 17th October, 2014 for races run along the inner rails was about 2-3 seconds faster than the horses travelling wide out i.e. on the new Track. He said that TAMMY O had travelled on the New track and the timing clocked by the filly was much slower as she raced on the comparatively softer part of the Track. He further added that if his filly had the chance to race on the inner Track, then she would have definitely placed. The Trainer stated that in Race No.212 Jockey A.Sandesh was able to position her as instructed and had ridden her well. The Trainer contended that the interference after the start had cost the filly some lengths and she was practically last due to which she had to travel wide and then had to travel in the softer part of the Track.

App.Yash Narredu confirmed the instructions and added that due to the interference he lost position and then ZENOFIC forced him to travel wide at the bend and coming into the straight.

The matter was reported to the Stewards for action as they deem fit to take.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 25th October, 2014 considered the above report and having deliberated the matter, decided that no action was called for.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “MOUNTAIN SONG” IN RACE NO 197 RUN ON 11TH OCTOBER 2014 AS COMPARED TO ALL THE PERVIOUS RUNS DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2014  – TRAINER HJ ANTIA

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer HJ Antia with regard to the captioned subject matter. The Trainer stated that in the first three outings the mare did not show any form but had performed creditably in the previous outing i.e. Race No 148 over 1200 metres where she finished 6th, being 4 ˝ lengths behind the winner and she was in contention till the 200 metres after which she fizzled out. Considering this run, he had run the mare over 1000 metres and hoped that the mare would run better. He added that the mare was ridden by the same Jockey i.e. S.G.Prasad and she was available at 10/1 or longer. To another question, he stated that he had run the mare over 1200 metres as she has won over this distance twice in her career and this was the first time that she has won over 1000 metres.

The explanation was noted.

------------------

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “FALCON” IN RACE NO 192 RUN ON 11TH OCTOBER 2014   – TRAINER M. NARREDU

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer M Narredu with regard to the captioned subject matter. The Trainer stated that the gelding was sluggish in the early part of the race and also the pace was fast. Further, Jockey D.K.Ashish had lost his whip in the straight. He added that the gelding had lost form, may be, due to the sharp Pune Track which the gelding may not have enjoyed. He went on to say that the gelding had returned with a sore back and has been under treatment since 13th October 2014. He opined that the gelding should do better on the Mumbai Track.

The explanation was noted.
