RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

On a request from Trainer Vinay Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer Narendra Lagad to saddle his charges CEASARINA & PEZZONOVANTE in the 1^st & 8^th race respectively, at his (Trainer Vinay Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge LADYBIRD in the 2^nd race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(348) – THE K.J.K. IRANI PLATE:(About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, DREAM YUGA was examined at 1700 hours on 18/04/2014 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

At the start, PRINCE ARIUS (Nirmal Jodha, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and went across and took the running of NEW STAR (I.Pasha), who was also slow to begin.

At the start, CEASARINA (B.Nikhildr.4) shifted out and went on to THUNDER STAR (S.Mosin, dr.5) who was forced to travel wide. Further, CEASARINA kept an erratic course under the use of the whip in the straight. Jockey B.Nikhil has been suspended for 2^nd August 2014 for Incompetent riding. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

ANCIENT WORLD (S.G.Prasad) lugged out while negotiating the bend. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey S.G.Prasad (ANCIENT WORLD) reported the loss of his whip near 300 metres. This being the 4^th occasion of him losing his whip, his Jockey’s License has been suspended w.e.f. 24^th July 2014 to 25^th July 2014 (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

After the race, NEW STAR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, ANCIENT WORLD and CEASARINA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(349) – THE JIMMY BHARUCHA TROPHY:(About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7

Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to produce the registered Racing Colours in respect of his charge WHITESOX (Kavraj Singh). The Jockey wore the Emergency Colours i.e. All Black.

ZEDA (C.S.Jodha) commenced to lug out from 300 metres and carried LADYBIRD (Akshay) outwards. Since the filly was reported to be sore, no action has been initiated in the matter.

The saddle on LADYBIRD (Akshay) was observed to have slipped sideways, as such, Trainer Vinesh, who had deputized for Trainer Janardhan, has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

After the race, ZEDA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. Also, the filly had a wolf tooth on the left side. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, HIGH EXPECTATION and VENI VIDI VICI were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(350)– THE CURSETJEE DHUNJISHAW TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 6

At the start, TRANCE (J.H.Christopher) tried to veer outwards.

Approaching 1000 metres, RUNNING SUN (T.S.Jodha) shifted in and tightened KNIGHT OF KE (P.Trevor) and then took the running of the latter and after taking the lead, slowed down the pace thereby further hampering the running of KNIGHT OF KE. Jockey T.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

TRANCE (J.H.Christopher) lugged out in the final 200 metres and went across BARRINGO (App.Yash Narredu). Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, KNIGHT OF KE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that RUNNING SUN was examined at the stables in the morning on 21/04/2014 and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(351) – THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

Jockey P.Trevor (PROTECTOR OF PARIS) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

Approaching 200 metres, SHINING PATH (A.Sandesh) shifted in under the use of the whip and made contact with PROTECTOR OF PARIS (P.Trevor). Jockey A.Sandesh has been reprimanded.

Jockey N.S.Parmar (VASCO DA GAMA) reported that his mount did not respond when he asked for an effort near 400 metres and was also uncomfortable. He opined that the gelding was choking and therefore may not have responded. Trainer M.K.Jadhav opted to scope the horse. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer M.K.Jadhav, VASCO DA GAMA was scoped after the race at the Equine Hospital and reported to be having EIPH (Grade I).

After the race, MIGHTY KING and VASCO DA GAMA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(352) – THE DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

At the request of Trainer Nirad Karanjawala, DIVALATHA was examined at 1900 hours on 18/04/2014 and was found to be sore by the right hind leg, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After being stalled, ARRIVEDERCI (P.Trevor) started lashing out at the rear gates. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have cut injury at the left hind cannon and left hock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. In view of this behavior, the Starting Stall Certificate of ARRIVEDERCI has been revoked. Further, the Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O., before next accepting with her to race.

At the start, SUNNY SEA (Deep Shanker, dr.6) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to DUSK N DAWN (D.A.Naik, dr.7).

DREAMZ UNLIMITED (Ishwar Pardeshi) ran erratic in the straight.

SUNNY SEA (Deep Shanker) was inconvenienced near 100 metres while racing between MALZIE (D.K.Ashish) and DREAMZ UNLIMITED (Ishwar Pardeshi).

After the race, SUNNY SEA and DUSK N DAWN were found to be sore by the right fore leg and left fore leg respectively. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.6(353) – THE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 14

SCALANAYA (App.Bhawani Singh) was slow in the stride, losing about 3 lengths at the start.

Near 1400 metres, WORD OF HONOUR (I.Pasha) shifted inwards, due to which SWORD OF HONOUR (Kavraj Singh) shifted in and inconvenienced FEAST OF LOVE (P.Trevor).

Near 1400 metres, ARGYLE PINK (Vikram Walkar) was inconvenienced due to a tightly packed field.

Near 700 metres, FEAST OF LOVE (P.Trevor) was unbalanced and as the filly regained balance, she shifted out and travelled wide.

While negotiating the final bend, FLEETFOOT MAC (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and tightened SWORD OF HONOUR (Kavraj Singh). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been reprimanded.

Near 400 metres, SAMBA WARRIOR (J.H.Christopher) was held up for a stride or two while racing on the inside of SAVAGE GARDEN (B.Nikhil).

Jockey C.S.Jodha (FLEETWOOD MAC) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in near 300 metres due to which SAMBA WARRIOR (J.H.Christopher) shifted out in anticipation of the former shifting in.

After the race, WINGED KING, SAVAGE GARDEN, WORD OF HONOUR and ZAAN (examined on 21/04/2014) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(354) – THE DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 12

ACT OF VALOUR (C.S.Jodha) hung out in the straight. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

SOMETHING SPECIAL (Kavraj Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, ACT OF VALOUR was found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(355) – THE ATMOSPHERE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 15

Jockey S.Mosin (YARDSTICK) reported that his mount lugged-in during the race. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

After the race, BETHLEHEM was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, MIRACLE OF MERCY was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 4^th, 5^th and 8^th race, viz. ESSENCE OF LOVE, PROTECTOR OF PARIS, CEZANNE and SMALL TREASURE, and the special sample of KNIGHTOF KE (3^rd race), VASCO DA GAMA (4^th race), DUSK N DAWN (5^th race) and ACKER BILK (7^th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
