RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT.
RACE NO.1 (181) – THE RAPIER MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
At the start, CHARMING STAR (S. Zervan, dr.7) jumped inwards and made contact with ZIP ALONG (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) causing the latter to be steadied.
After the race, App. N. Bhosale (RECIPROCITY) reported loss of whip passing the 250 metres. This being the second instance during the Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, App. N. Bhosale has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, MOONLIGHT KISS & CHARMING STAR were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that ETOILE had right eye injury with ulcer (sore).
RACE NO.2 (182) – THE MAHARAJA SIR HARISINGHJI TROPHY (GRADE 3) POWERED BY MR. ZAVARAY S. POONAWALLA: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 10
Passing the 400 metres, SUPERNATURAL (P. Trevor) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing PRANA (Antony Raj S.) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.10,000/- for careless riding.
After the race, Akshay Kumar (DE VILLIERS) reported that he was held up for room in the straight until passing the 300 metres.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GEOGRAPHIQUE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
The Sr. V.O. reported that KNOTTY CHARMER was declared to run with bandages on both hind but ran without bandages. As such, Trainer Prasanna Kumar P. has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.
After the race, MOJITO was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have a gum injury, KNOTTY CHARMER & COUNT OF SAVOY were trotted and found to be sound and PRANA was found to have an injury on left fore coronet.
RACE NO.3 (183) – THE BOMBAY CLUB MULTI - MILLION: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
At the request of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, BALTHAZAR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:15 a.m. on 6th April 2024, at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore with swelling on right fore fetlock, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
There was a dual declaration in respect of Jockey A. Sandesh by Trainer H. J. Antia on EXPEDITE and by Trainer Faisal A. Abbas on THALASSA. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas was permitted to declare Jockey A. Sandesh on his charge THALASSA and Trainer H. J. Antia was permitted to declare Jockey S. Zervan on his charge EXPEDITE. In this connection, Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring Jockey A. Sandesh without his consent.
At the start, MANSA MUSA (P. Trevor, dr.3) jumped and veered outwards and had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (MANSA MUSA) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
It was observed that passing the 400 metres, MIGHTY SPARROW (P. S. Chouhan) drifted out and finished the race on the extreme wide outside. After questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race and that the colt drifted out in the straight despite his efforts. In view of the Colt’s behavior, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
At the start, COME SEPTEMBER (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact with ODYSSEUS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7) and thereafter COME SEPTEMBER shifted out and made contact with THALASSA (A. Sandesh, dr.10) causing the latter to be steadied.
After the race, STAR IMPACT was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, at the request of Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, AERODYNAMIC was endoscoped at Equine Hospital and was found to have epiglottic entrapment.
RACE NO.4 (184) – THE C. N. WADIA GOLD CUP (GRADE 2) POWERED BY MR. ZAVARAY S. POONAWALLA: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES –RUNNERS- 5
After the race, JENDAYI was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, TRULY EPIC was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, JULIETTE was found to have an abrasion on right shoulder.
RACE NO.5 (185) – POONAWALLA STUD FARMS AUCTION SALE STAKES: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 5
Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to declare his charge CREDENCE.
RACE NO.6 (186) – THE ACT IN TIME MILLION: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
After morning track work held on 4th April 2024, at the request of Trainer M. K. Jadhav, WILD THING was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was observed to have broken a blood vessel, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
BALENCIAGA (A. Sandesh, dr.8) lost about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, FLASHING FAMOUS jumped outwards and had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey Vivek G. (RUSH) reported that in the straight his whip got entangled with his reins, as such, he could not use the whip in the race. After viewing the replay of the same and not being entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered, the Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.
RACE NO.7 (187) – THE NATIVE KNIGHT MILLION: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
ESPERANZA (P. Shinde, dr.1) was fractious in the stall. Trainer Shazaan Shan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, MIRAE (App. S. Saba, dr.9) lost its footing and stumbled.
Passing the 900 metres, QUEENS PRIDE (P. Trevor) leaned outwards at the same time FIERY RED (P. S. Chouhan) leaned inwards, thereby tightening MIRAE (App. S. Saba) racing between them causing the latter to be steadied, thereafter, MOJO (Amyn Merchant) shifted in thereby tightening FIERY RED causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out due to which MILLI (Vishal N. Bunde) racing on its haunches further shifted out thereby carrying FIERY RED (P. S. Chouhan), MIRAE (App. S. Saba), MOJO (Amyn Merchant) & MOMENT OF MADNESS (Prashant P. Dhebe) outwards. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st & 6th race, viz. ARIYANA STAR & CHRISTOPHANY, and the special samples of STAR IMPACT (3rd race) & JENDAYI (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
The urine and blood samples of SUPERNATURAL (Winner - 2nd race), GEOGRAPHIQUE (2nd place – 2nd race), THALASSA (Winner – 3rd race), JULIETTE (Winner – 4th race), DYF (2nd place – 4th race), SANTISSIMO (Winner – 5th race) and ESPERANZA (Winner – 7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: RACE NO.6 (26) – THE B FIFTY TWO TROPHY: RUN ON 10TH DECEMBER 2023:
After the race, on being weighed in, Jockey R. Shelar (ALPHA GENE) exceeded his declared weight by 2 kgs. i.e. he had weighed out at 51.5 Kgs. and weighed in at 53.5 kgs. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey R. Shelar was fined a sum of Rs.5,000/- and was asked to be more careful in the future.

RE: JOCKEY C. S. JODHA FAILED TO REPORT ON 18TH JANUARY 2024:
Jockey C. S. Jodha had failed to report at the weighing room for his riding engagements of the day, hence, the respective Trainers were permitted to declare the change of Jockeys on their respective charges. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey C. S. Jodha has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

RE: RUNNING AND RIDING OF OTELLO (R. SHELAR) IN RACE NO.88 RUN ON 3RD FEBRUARY 2024.
After interviewing Trainer H. J. Antia, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to keep the enquiry open until such time the gelding runs again.

RE: LOOKING INTO THE LOSS OF WHIP BY JOCKEY S. SAQLAIN (MOJO) IN RACE NO.89 RUN ON 3RD FEBRUARY 2024:
After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (MOJO) reported loss of whip at the 400 metres. After interviewing Jockey S. Saqlain and viewing the race multiple times in his presence it was established that the incident was accidental. As such, this being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, no action has been initiated.

RE: BIT USED ON COIN EMPRESS (MUSTAKIM ALAM) IN RACE NO.137 RUN ON 10TH MARCH 2024
COIN EMPRESS (App. Mustakim Alam) was brought into the paddock sporting a Rubber D Bit instead of a Rubber Egg Butt Bit, for which prior permission was not obtained. Since the said equipment was not available, the filly was permitted to run with the Rubber D Bit. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

RE: LOOKING INTO THE INCIDENT OF GIANT KING (YASH NARREDU) IN RACE NO.140 RUN ON 10TH MARCH 2024:
Passing the 250 metres, GIANT KING (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing ANGELO (Vivek G.) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and change course due to which EATON SQUARE (Neeraj Rawal) racing on its haunches had to be check and change course. After questioning Trainer M. Narredu and Jockey Yash Narredu, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

RE: LOOKING INTO THE INCIDENT OF AZRINAZ (HARIDAS GORE) IN RACE NO.144 RUN ON 10TH MARCH 2024:
Approaching the 900 metres, AZRINAZ (App. Haridas Gore) leaned inwards onto SUPREME SPIRIT (Anthony Raj S.) who further shifted in due to which WANDERLUST (P. S. Chouhan) racing behind had to be checked, as a result, MOONLIGHT KISS (App. Mustakim Alam) racing on its haunches clipped the heels of the former and stumbled. After questioning, App. Haridas Gore has been severely cautioned for the future.

RE: ASSISTANT STARTER REPORTED JOCKEY YASH NARREDU (RUNNING STAR) REGARDING HIS BEHAVIOUR IN RACE NO.154 AT THE STARTING GATES ON 17TH MARCH 2024:
The Assistant Starter reported Jockey Yash Narredu (RUNNING STAR) regarding his behavior at the staring gates. Jockey Yash Narredu apologized to the Assistant starter and assured that he would not repeat the same in the future.

RE: LOOKINIG INTO THE RIDING OF J. CHINOY (GOOMAH) IN RACE NO.171 RUN ON 31ST MARCH 2024:
After interviewing Jockey J. Chinoy (GOOMAH) and viewing the replay of the race, it was observed that in the final stages of the race, his reins slipped momentarily. Jockey J. Chinoy was severely cautioned and was asked to be more careful in the future.
