RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WILL BE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY FROM 800 METRES TO 500 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WILL BE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1 (145) – THE RACE MIRROR CUP: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS -  6

 

Soon after the start, GALLOPING GLORY (Bhawani Singh) leaned outwards and went across FANTASTIC FLARE (K. Nazil) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (GALLOPING GLORY) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After questioning, Jockey Bhawani Singh stated that his mount was hanging out despite his efforts and that he used the whip as a corrective measure, as such, Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STOLE MY HEART was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (146) – THE INDIARACE.COM TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, ENDURANCE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 11:00 a.m. on 13th March, 24 at the stables and was found to be sore by left fore with swelling on left tendon, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

                                                                                                                

KIMIKO (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, EL GRECO (C. Umesh, dr.2) jumped outwards onto KIMIKO (C. S .Jodha, dr.3) who was marginally slow to begin thereby carrying the latter outwards.

 

It was observed that Jockey S. Sunil (RUSH) dropped his hands before passing the winning post thereby losing fourth position. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey S. Sunil has been Rs.3,000/- and has been severely cautioned for the future.

 

After the race, EL GRECO was trotted and found to be sound and RUSH was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (147) – THE TIMES OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  11

 

At the start, DORON (J. Chinoy, dr.3) jumped and veered outwards thereby bumping and boring SILVER BRAID (C. S. Jodha, dr.4) who in turn shifted out onto STAR IMPACT (S. Saqlain, dr.5) and EXPEDITE (T. S. Jodha, dr.6) causing them to jostle resulting in them to be steadied, thereafter, DORON shied inwards and brushed the railings. After being interviewed on 16th March, 24 the explanations tendered by Trainer P. Shroff and Jockey J. Chinoy were noted, however, in view of the Colt’s behavior, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

                                                                                                          

Passing the 1200 metres, EXPEDITE (T. S. Jodha) shifted inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing SILVER BRAID (C. S. Jodha) causing the latter to brush the rails, check and drop back. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 400 metres, INVERNESS (Santosh G.) shifted in despite the riders efforts thereby tightening and inconveniencing EXPEDITE (T. S. Jodha) causing the latter to be checked. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (OCEAN) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.

 

After the race, BAKLAVA & DORON were trotted and found to be sound and SILVER BRAID was found to have an injury on left fore cannon.

 

RACE NO.4 (148) – THE HINDU TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS- 8

 

At the start, PORTOFINO BAY (P. Trevor) lost its footing and stumbled.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. S. Chouhan rider of REMINISCENCE placed 4th by the Judge against Jockey R. Ajinkya rider of OUTLANDER placed 1st by the Judge reason being, 100 metres after the jump, the winner shifted in and pushed him in thereby causing him to slow down his horse to save the Jockey on his inside due to which he lost his early position. Further, coming into the straight in the last 250 metres, the winner shifted in due to which he had to check his mount and stop riding which cost him a certain place.

 

After considerations the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own observations of the race, The Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

However, they found Jockey R. Ajinkya guilty for careless riding on his mount OUTLANDER.

 

After the race, REMINISCENCE & ESPERANZA were trotted and found to be sound and CIPHER was found to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5 (149) – THE RACINGPULSE.IN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

ECLAIRAGE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

THE GENERAL (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) took a fly jump as the start was effected.

 

PURE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.1) lost about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, BREGO (C. S. Jodha) was observed to have dropped back thereby inconveniencing BALENCIAGA (P. Trevor) racing on its haunches causing the latter to check and drop back. On being questioned, Jockey C. S. Jodha stated that it was his mounts first run and was running a bit erratic, further, in his effort to settle his mount he may have dropped back.

 

After the race, Jockey Imran Chisty (ATTAINED) reported that passing the 300 metres his mount lost a stride.

 

After the race, ATTAINED was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.6 (150) – THE MID-DAY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

TARZAN (J. Chinoy, dr.6) was refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starters order. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 200 metres, TOSCANA (R. Ajinkya) shifted in under urgings and went across LIGHTNING BLAZE (M. S. Deora) causing the latter to be checked, thereafter, approaching the 100 metres, TOSCANA further shifted in under the use of whip and went across LIGHT OF LIFE (S. Saqlain) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey R. Ajinkya has been suspended for two race days i.e. on 6th & 7th April, 2024. (permitted to ride work / mock race) for careless riding.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd & 6th race, viz. GALLOPING GLORY, BAKLAVA & MI ARION, and the special samples of EL GRECO (2nd race) & REMINISCENCE (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:

 

RE: MOCK RACE HELD ON 14TH MARCH 2024:

 

EMPEROR RODERIC was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the horse has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
