RACE DAY REPORTS

False Rails were placed 3 metres wide from 1400 Metres till 1000 Metres and thereafter 4.5 Metres wide till the Winning Post. False rails were also placed about 8 metres wide from 1200 Metres Chute till 1000 Metres.

On a request from Trainer Faisal A Abbas, permission was granted to Trainer Altamash A Ahmed to saddle his charges ZEN (1^st race) and BONNY LIGHT (5^th race) respectively at his (Trainer Faisal A Abbas’) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (81) - THE ALOUETTE PLATE:  (About) 1200 Metres - Runners - 7

COURAGE UNDER FIRE (R.Shelar) played up after being stalled. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. Veterinary Officer who certified him unfit to race, as such COURAGE UNDER FIRE was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s order. Tr.S.K.Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that after being loaded, COURAGE UNDER FIRE played up and kicked over the rear gate and in the process, got stuck between the gate partition and the flap. On examination, the gelding was found unfit to race and hence was withdrawn.

BLACK PHANTOM (Hamir Singh) was sluggish, losing about a length at the start.

SHABDEEZ (R.Biramne) tried to veer out at the start and continued to lug out till entering the straight. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the filly.

Jockey Zameer Sayyed (HI DOLLY), R.Biramne (SHABDEEZ) and Hamir Singh (BLACK PHANTOM) have been cautioned for traveling wide during the race.

Jockey C Rajendra (BLUE JAY) has been cautioned for changing course on more than one occasion in the straight.

After the race SHABDEEZ was observed to have an abrasion on her left hind fetlock and pastern.

RACE NO.2 (82) - THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres -   Runners –4 – NO REPORT

RACE NO.3 (83) - THE AL DENTE PLATE:  (About) 2000 Metres -   Runners - 6

RAGE OF ANGELS (T.S.Jodha) jumped out slowly, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Tr. Amjad Khan has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of FLASHING FLAME and a report to be submitted shortly.

After the race, STAR OF THE SEASON was observed to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race ELUSIVE TRUST was observed to have an abrasion on her left hind coronet.

RACE NO.4 (84) - THE APE TRUK EVE  CHAMPION TROPHY (GRADE 3) :  (About) 2000 Metres -

At the request of the Owner, the Stewards permitted the change of Jockey to ride YANA.

After being loaded, ORPHEUS (Zameer Sayyed) tried to duck the front gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O who certified him fit to race.

After the race, GOBELIN was observed to go short by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race ORPHEUS was observed to have an abrasion on his left hind pastern.

SILVER TERN (Nirmal Jodha) was placed fifth and GOBELIN (Samuel Fargeat) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

RACE NO.5 (85) - THE DR. P. K. SARDESHMUKH MAHARAJ TROPHY:  (About) 1400 Metres -

Soon after entering the straight, PINE CREST (Hanumant Singh) shifted out and carried PARTY CELEBRATION (T.Bernard) outwards with the rider making no effort whatsoever to prevent an interference being caused to any other horse. As such, Jockey Hanumant Singh was reported for careless riding. The matter has been deferred to next week.

Jockey T. Bernard (PARTY CELEBRATION) has been fined Rs.5000/- for incompetent riding wherein he shifted in for no apparent reason and tried to take an insufficient gap between FANTASY LAKE (Zameer Sayyed) and ABSOLUTE REALITY (S.N. Chavan) whereby PARTY CELEBRATION (T. Bernard) was held up for a run and in the final stages shifted in and hampered the running of CANTON CAPER (Nirmal Jodha).

In the final stages of the race, CARAMEL (Vikram Jodha) was hampered for run when ABSOLUTE REALITY (S. N. Chavan) shifted in. Jockey S.N.Chavan reported that his mount ABSOLUTE REALITY was inclined to lug in, as such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

After the race CANTON CAPER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race BONNY LIGHT was observed to have an abrasion on his right fore coronet.

RACE NO.6 (86) - THE SNOWSTORM PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres - Runners - 9

At the start, SCHNELL (L.Prashant) was observed to have jumped out improperly with the Jockey losing his balance and both his stirrups, which he could not regain through out the race. Also, Jockey L.Prashant reported the loss of his whip in the straight. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of SCHNELL and a report will be submitted shortly.

Jockey K.P.G.Appu (STAR ALWAYS, dr.9) has been cautioned for shifting in soon after the start.

After the race SCHNELL was observed to have an abrasion on his right hind fetlock.

RACE NO.7 (87) - THE ZEPHYR BAY PLATE:  (About) 1000 Metres - Runners - 11

Jockey SS Rathore was declared to ride on two horses in this race by Trainers Sangramsinh N. Joshi and Rehanullah Khan. After an enquiry, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.1000/- for declaring Jockey SS Rathore to ride his charge HOLD THE THOUGHT without the consent of the Jockey.

At the start, ADDICTION (KPG Appu) shifted outwards due to which HOLD THE THOUGHT (Nirmal Jodha) shifted out and at the same time HIGHLAND FLAME (Aadesh Kumar) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with HOLD THE THOUGHT. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

At the start, CYCLADES (M Narredu) shifted in and went across HOLD THE THOUGHT (Nirmal Jodha) and further shifted in and inconvenienced ADDICTION (KPG Appu). Jockey M Narredu has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

At the start, CHAK DE (R Shelar) jumped out awkwardly and went on to GLOBAL SPIRIT (Neeraj Rawal). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

Near 800 meters, GLOBAL SPIRIT (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in, forcing CHAK DE (R Shelar) to be checked by its Rider who in turn shifted in and hampered the running of SIR TAJ (R Biramne). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

The post race urine sample of the winners of the 1^st, 3^rd and 4^th viz. SECRET GLORY, FLASHING FLAME and YANA as also that of PERSONIFIED & AQUILO (4^th race) and the special sample of CANTON CAPER & RAGHUVANSH (5^th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
