On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer Vinay Lagad to saddle his charges MADAMME BIJOUX (1st race), BREZHNEV (2nds race), BEACON LIGHT, PALME DOR and RUBAIYAT (3rd race), APPRECIATE (4th race) and INCREDIBLE BEAUTY (7th race), at his (Tr.Narendra Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (33) - THE SPARKLING CYANIDE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres.   Runners - 8

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that while parading in the paddock JUST BLESSINGS was observed to have splayed her right fore plate. After correction, the filly was examined and found to be sound and hence was permitted to race. The filly returned sound after the race. 

 

Soon after the start, CHARGING RHINO (S.S.Baria) shifted out with the rider making no effort to control the outward movement of his mount and jostled with MADAMME BIJOUX (App.Shammi Khan)  who was forced to shift out and jostle with LIVERPOOL (Riyaz Shaikh) whereby App.Shammi Khan lost his balance. Jockey S.S.Baria was reported to the stewards for careless riding on his mount.

 

The Stewards having interviewed Jockey S.S.Baria and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount CHARGING RHINO.  The Stewards noted that Jockey S.S.Baria’s license already stands suspended upto and inclusive of 23rd August, 2008 for an earlier offence. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 24th August, 2008 to 30th August, 2008 (both days inclusive) for careless riding on his mount CHARGING RHINO. Further, he was warned to be more careful in the future. (permitted to ride work/mock race).

                                          

Near 800 meters, LIVERPOOL (Riyaz Shaikh)  shifted in and inconvenienced MADAMME BIJOUX (App.Shammi Khan) who in turn inconvenienced CHARGING RHINO (S.S.Baria.). Further, passing 600 metres, LIVERPOOL (Riyaz Shaikh) again shifted in and hampered the running of CHARGING RHINO (S.S.Baria). Jockey Riyaz Shaikh has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockey Aadesh Kumar (MELBA) has been cautioned for traveling wide in the middle stages of the race and rounding the final bend.

 

MELBA (Aadesh Kumar) was inclined to lug-in in the concluding stages of the race. Trainer Nana Raghunath has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Passing 600 metres, JUST BLESSINGS (S.S.Rathore) shifted in, forcing Jockey J.Pradeep (MERCEDES)  to steady his mount and shift out to make his bid. Jockey S.S.Rathore has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that LIVERPOOL was examined after the race and found to be sound. The gelding had an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.

 

After the race, CLASSIC SPIRIT was observed to have an abrasion on medial aspect of the right hind pastern, JUST BLESSINGS had an abrasion on the right fore canon and CHARGING RHINO had an injury on the left fore coronet..

 

 

 

RACE NO.2 (34) - THE VIBRANT PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 7

 

Tr.Bezan Chenoy submitted a letter requesting permission to withdraw his charge ALECTRONA from this race as the filly suffered from colic and was treated by the Club’s Vet at 0530 hours on the race day (9/8/2008). The said permission was granted and ALECTRONA was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

RACE NO.3 (35) - THE MONICA PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres.  Runners – 14

 

RUBAIYAT (H.G.Rathod) was fractious on the way to the start. Also, the filly kept shying away each time attempts to stall her were made, as such, RUBAIYAT was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Considering the overall behavior of the filly, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting with her to race.

HIGHLAND FLAME (Aadesh Kumar) was restless in the stall and swayed her head as the start was affected, as such the filly jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. In view of the above, Tr.S.K.Sunderji has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting with her to race.

 

Jockey Aadesh Kumar (HIGHLAND FLAME) has been asked to be more alert in the Gates since he was observed not to have straightened the neck of his mount which resulted in the horse jumping out tardily.

 

AMERICAN IDOL (Zameer Sayyed) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer D.J.Surti has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

PALME DOR (Anil Baandal) started to hang outwards and while negotiating the final bend, drifted out and raced along the outer rails. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with her to race.

 

LECHWE (M.Narredu) ran green during the race.

 

 The Sr.V.O. reported that AMERICAN IDOL and BLADE RUNNER were examined after the race and both were found to be sound. AMERICAN IDOL was found to have a wolf tooth on the right side and BLADE RUNNER had an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.4 (36) - THE AMAZING BAY TROPHY:  (About) 1000 Metres.   Runners - 8

 

APPRECIATE (Riyaz Shaikh, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and made contact with ENCELADUS (P.Kamlesh, dr.5) and the two were involved in constant touch with each other for a brief period. Soon thereafter, the inside field shifted out i.e. MAJOR ROBERTS (Samuel Fargeat dr.2), OYSTER PEARL (Suraj Narredu dr.3), COVENANT (M.Narredu dr.4) and ENCELADUS (P.Kamlesh dr.5)  who went on to APPRECIATE (Riyaz Shaikh) who in turn was tightened onto RIVER DANCER (Neeraj Rawal). As a consequence of the  chain reaction, APPRECIATE (Riyaz Shaikh) and COVENANT (M.Narredu) lost their positions and dropped back. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

 

SCHUBERT (S.P.Ranjane) was steadied near 600 metres due to lack of room.

 

After the race, PAMPERED PRINCESS was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind canon and OYSTER PEARL was observed to have lost his left fore plate.

 

RACE NO.5 (37) - THE P. HADOW TROPHY: (About) 1600   Metres.  Runners - 7

 

At the start, SURAJ (Riyaz Shaikh, dr.7) shifted in and went across KINGDOM OF LOVE (Samuel Fargeat, dr.6) and TIGRESS NOIRE (Wayne Smith, dr.5) causing both the horses to be checked by their respective riders. Jockey Riyaz Shaikh has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Soon after entering the straight, AQUADISIAC (C.Rajendra) shifted in and made contact with KINGDOM OF LOVE (Samuel Fargeat). Jockey C.Rajendra has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

 

RACE NO.6 (38) - THE LONDONDERRY PLATE:  (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 9

 

BIG RED (Khalander) was sluggish at the start.

 

RACE NO.7 (39) - THE PRINCESS GOMBOS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres.   Runners - 14

 

Soon after the start, SPLENDID MONARCHY (C.S.Jodha) whipped around and stopped galloping and took no practical part in the race. In view of the above, Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting with her to race.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd and 6th race viz. LECHWE & RIYASAT and the special sample of BLADE RUNNER (3rd race), IL DIVO (6th race) and EXCELLENT STORY (7th race) was collected for detection of prohibited substance.

OMISSION :

R.NO.21 – THE SO SMITTEN PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON SATURDAY, 2ND AUGUST, 2008 :

 

WIND STORM (Nirmal Jodha) veered to the left soon after the start and joined the field at the 100 metres. In view of this behaviour, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the horse in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with him to race.
