RACE NO.1 (26) - THE ELEGANCE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres.  Runners - 7

THUNDERING HERO (I Shaikh) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

After the race, UBER ALLES was observed to have an abrasion on the right fore fetlock and LATEST NEWS had an abrasion on the right fore pastern.

RACE NO.2 (27) - THE MANGAL PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres.  Runners - 7

FIRECRACKER (Hamir Singh) threw its head up at the start and was ridden in check in the early part of the race. On questioning, Tr.Narendra Lagad informed that the Jockey was instructed to be 5th/6th position and to follow the instructions the Jockey has ridden in check.

Approaching 600 meters, STAR SPARKLE (Nirmal Jodha) shifted out due to having made contact with ITEM BOMB (P Belose) and went on to FIRECRACKER (Hamir Singh) who in turn inconvenienced STARLITE EXPRESS (Akash Agarwal). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

Passing 200 meters, STARLITE EXPRESS (Akash Agarwal) hung in and carried FIRECRAKER (Hamir Singh) inwards and in the process went across ITEM BOMB (P Belose) who was hampered for a run. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey Akash Agarwal were questioned regarding the running and riding of STARLITE EXPRESS. The Jockey was instructed to be in 2nd or 3rd position but if the horse goes to the front, then the horse can be ridden from the front. It was observed that after a slow start, STARLITE EXPRESS was unnecessarily checked soon after and again approaching 1000 meters for no apparent reason and then traveled wide and soon after entering the straight, the Jockey lost his whip, which was the second instance of the Jockey losing his whip. The Trainer was dissatisfied with the Jockey’s riding.  The matter was reported to the Stewards.

The Stewards interviewed the Trainer and the Jockey in this regard and after the preliminary recording of their statements decided to issue a Show Cause notice to Jockey Akash Agarwal as to why action should not be initiated against him for not permitting his mount to run on its merits. Also, the Stewards directed the Stipendiary Stewards to conduct further enquiries into the matter.

Jockey Hamir Singh (FIRECRACKER) has been cautioned for traveling wide during the middle stages of the race and also while negotiating the final bend for no apparent reason.

RACE NO.3 (28) - THE POTENTIAL CHAMPION TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres.

      -   Runners - 14

HIGHLAND MUSIC (Zameer Sayyed) hung out during the race, more so while negotiating the final bend. Trainer CD Katark has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, GIFT OF GRACE was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind pastern.

After the race, FURTHER AWAY was found to have an abrasion on the right hind pastern and was sore by that leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.4 (29) - THE LUFTHANSA AUGUST HANDICAP:  (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 8

SPITZ (Samuel Fargeat) was fractious and reluctant to proceed to the Starting gates and was reluctant to be stalled, as such, the colt was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to show the colt in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

After being stalled, TROMOS (C.S.Jodha) hooked his hind on the side platform. As such, the colt was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. VO who certified him fit to race.

Approaching the 1200 metres, SENTINEL (C.Rajendra) shifted in and went across NORA (Wayne Smith) causing the latter to be checked and lose position. Jockey C.Rajendra has been fined Rs.5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

After the race, LONE SENTINEL was observed to have an abrasion on the right hind coronet and was sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.5 (30) - THE HER MAJESTY TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres.   Runners - 9

Jockey C.S.Jodha was declared to ride by Trainers Subhag Singh and Mrs. Nina M. Lalwani on SILVER TERN and SAIL AWAY respectively. On questioning, it was established that Trainer Subhag Singh had declared Jockey C.S.Jodha without his consent, as such Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs.1000/-

Near 1400 meters, BALTHAZAAR (Nirmal Jodha) was steadied due to lack of room and dropped back resulting in SILVER TERN (Samuel Fargeat), who was racing directly behind, being checked. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

After the race, SAIL AWAY was observed to have an abrasion on the right hind pastern.
