TRY YOUR LUCK (J.Pradeep) was slow

At the behest of the
Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards’ Enquiry was held in this race. The reason
being that approaching the 800 meters RAGING CHENB (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in
causing a chain reaction wherein ENCOURAGEMENT (T.S.Jodha) who was on the
inside of RAGING CHENB (P.S.Chouhan) was forced to shift in as result VICEROY
(L.Prashant) shifted in and hampered the running of CLASSIC SPIRIT (Dashrath
Singh) and in the process VICEROY was tightened and was squeezed out. RAGING
CHENB (P.S.Chouhan) continued to shift in, forcing ENCOURAGEMENT (T.S.Jodha) to
shift in and take the running of CLASSIC SPIRIT (Dashrath Singh) who clipped
the hind heels of ENCOURAGEMENT (T.S.Jodha)
and stumbled, dislodging its Rider. Jockey P.S.Chouhan was reported to
the Stewards for Careless Riding on his mount. The Stewards interviewed Jockey
PS Chouhan and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, held
him guilty of Careless Riding and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License
w.e.f. 14th April 2008 to 20th April 2008 (both days
inclusive). (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).
Due to the fall of Jockey
Dashrath Singh near 800 meters, ADJUSTMENT (S.P.Ranjane) and TRY YOUR LUCK (J.Pradeep)
were checked by their respective Riders.
Jockey J.Pradeep (TRY YOUR
LUCK) has been reprimanded for failing to persevere with his mount till past

ride work/ Mock race).
Trainer Faisal A. Abbas was
questioned regarding the comparative performance of TEARAWAY in this race which
the gelding won as compared to his earlier run in Race no 268 in a gap of 7
days. The Trainer stated that in the previous race the horse carried top weight
and the going being slightly heavier along the inner rails the horse was tired
towards the end. He said that although the horse had finished 6th in
that race he was only 4 lengths from the winner. This time, the horse carried
7.5 kgs. less, albeit in a higher class, however, being a light frame horse, it
suited him better this day. He said that he had taken a chance to race him in a
short span since it was a restricted race for horses 5-years-old and over and
there were not too many such races left. He said that he had not fancied the
horse and he was at longer odds. The matter wa been reported to the Stewards.
The Stewards interviewed Trainer Faisal A Abbas and having heard
him decided to accept the explanation tendered by him. However, this being his second case of a
similar nature within a week, his attention was once again drawn to the
Calendar Notification “Re : Comparative Performance of Horses winning within a
short span of time” and he was warned to be more careful in the future.
