RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “MILES AND MORE” IN RACE NO 242 RUN ON 13TH MARCH 2008 – TRAINER ARTI DOCTOR & JOCKEY C. RAJENDRA:

Tr.Arti Doctor and Jockey C.Rajendra were questioned in the above connection. Tr.Arti Doctor stated that in this race the pace was slow which did not suit the gelding as he likes a more solid run throughout the race. She said that in Race No.124, Jockey Samuel Fargeat had made the same mistake of taking it easy throughout the race and then trying to ask for a response from the gelding in the final stages of the race. Subsequently in Race No.209, Jockey Samuel Fargeat had started pushing from the five furlong and managed to gain maximum ground in the final stages of the race. She added that MILES AND MORE is a one pace horse and has to be ridden throughout the race and it does not have the ability to spurt.

Jockey C.Rajendra stated that he has done his best. He said that this time the horse ran in a higher class as compared to Race No.209. The explanation tendered was noted.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “CHARDIN” IN RACE NO 246 RUN ON 13TH MARCH 2008 – TRAINER P. SHROFF & JOCKEY C. RUZAAN:

Tr.P.Shroff and Jockey C.Ruzaan were questioned in the above connection. Tr.Shroff stated that the horse did not take a good start due to which the Jockey could not get a clear passage to move in a forward as instructed by him. Further, round the bend when the Jockey was about to make his move, the field swung around which further forced him to travel wide whereby the horse lost valuable ground. He said that he took no exception to the Jockey’s riding. Jockey C.Ruzaan stated that the horse was loaded early and hence he was completely relaxed in the gates and when the gates opened, he jumped out slowly and hence he was unable to take a desirable position as instructed. The explanation tendered was noted.
