OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER). |

RACE NO.188 - THE ZEALOT
PLATE (About) 1200 Mts. (13 RUNNERS)
|
|
|
|
After being stalled AMANAT (M. Narredu) started
lashing kicks onto the rear gates of the stall. The filly was taken out and
examined by the Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right hind, with
bleeding injury on the right stifle. As such, was certified unfit to race and
was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s Order. The filly has to be passed
fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Considering the filly’s
behaviour, Trainer Arti Doctor has been asked to give the filly more gate
practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning
starting trials before next accepting to race with her. |

Soon after the start, ONLY FOR DON
(J. Pradeep – dr.10) stumbled and shifted in and caused interference to NET
EAGLE (I. Shiakh – dr.8). SECURITY (L. Prashant – dr.5) jumped out awkwardly
towards the outside despite Jockey’s effort and bumped CRY OF TRUTH (Malcolm
Kharadi – dr.6) who in turn went onto NET EAGLE (I. Shaikh – dr.8) and was
hampered for room. Since this incident was accidental no action was initiated
against any jockeys. Trainer Jayantilal K. Gor has been advised to take
remedial measures with his charge SECURITY before next accepting to race with
the filly. |

|
Near 400 mts. NUCLEUS (Vikram Walkar)
shifted in and hampered the running of TRUE BEAUTY (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey
Vikram Walkar has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control
over his mount. |
|
|
|
After the race, NET EAGLE was found
to go short by left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s
V.O. before next accepting to race. |
|
|
|
After the race, DIAMOND PRINCESS was
found to be sore by right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. |
|
|

RACE NO.189 - THE ALLIED
FORCES PLATE – DIV.I (About) 1400 Mts. (9 RUNNERS) |

|
|
As
the start was affected, LINKWOOD (I. Shaikh) planted taking no practical part
in the race. Considering this behaviour of the filly and a similar one during
the last Mumbai Season 2004/05. Trainer Nana Raghunath has been asked give
filly more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter
in a mock race before accepting with her to race. |

|
Soon after the start DESPERADO (R. Rupesh)
hung in badly. Trainer Faisal Abbas has been advised to take remedial measure
before accepting to race with the filly. |
|

AL
NAJDAIN (S.S. Baria) was very reluctant to proceed to the Starting Post. As
the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its earlier run this season,
Trainer Sangramsingh Joshi has been asked give the gelding gate approach
practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting
with him to race. |
|
|
|
HABIBI (J. Pradeep) was observed to
shift in soon after the start. Since no interference was caused, no action
has been initiated against the Jockey beyond advising him to maintain a
straight course after the start. |
|
|
|
Near 200 meters ASCENSION
(Dharmender) shifted in and hampered the running of EYE TO EYE (S Shinde).
Jockey Dharmender has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over
his mount. |
|
|
|

RACE NO.192 - THE RECOVERY
PLATE – DIV.I (About) 1000 Mts. (18 RUNNERS)

|
|
GAME OF POWER (R. Rupesh) stumbled at
the start. |
|
|
|
Near 600 mts. LIVING LOGIC (SS Baria)
shifted in and went across FAIRY GODDESS (Hamir Singh). Jockey S.S. Baria has
been reprimanded for shifting in when not being sufficiently clear. |
|
|
|
Jockey I. Shaikh was observed to have
used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit. On questioning Jockey I.
Shaikh stated that his mount was inclined to hang out in the initial stages
and more so while negotiating the bend, hence he had used his whip as a
corrective measure. His explanation was accepted and no action was initiated.
|
|
|
|
In the straight, Jockey I. Shaikh
(HIGH FIVE) has persisted with the use of his whip while his horse was
shifting out thereby losing a valuable ground and in the process hampered the
running of BLAZING ARROW (Amyn Merchant). Jockey I. Shaikh has been fined
Rs.1,000/- for improper use of whip. |
|
|
|
In the final furlong Jockey Anil
Baandal (TURF CROWN) has used his
whip with his left hand while his horse was shifting in thereby allowing his
horse to further shift in and collide against the inner rails. Jockey Anil
Baandal has been reprimanded for improper of his use. |
|
|
|
After the race, SWIFT SWORD was found
to go sore by left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s
V.O. before next accepting to race. |
|
|
|
After the race, PREMIER IMAGE was
found to be sore by right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. |
|

RACE NO.193 - THE DEEP
WATER BLUES PLATE (About) 1000 Mts. (15 RUNNERS) |

|
|
PRINCEWAY (Zameer Sayyed) was slow in the stride
losing about 4 lengths at the start. As the gelding had behaved in a similar manner
in its earlier run during this season. Trainer D.J. Surti has been asked to
give the gelding more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of
the Starter in a mock race before accepting with him to race. |

|
Soon after the start, MOMENT OF CREATION
(Vikram Jodha -dr.7) shifted in and hampered the running of CHARGING RHINO
(P. Belose). Jockey Vikram Jodha has been cautioned for failing to exercise
proper control over his mount. |
|
|
|
Jockey L. Prashant rider of ETTAN was
observed to have used his whip while the horse was drifting out. Jockey L.
Prashant has been reprimanded for the improper use of the whip and for using
the whip with excessive force. |
|
|
|
After the race, REIGN OF FIRE was
found to be sore by right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. |

RACE NO.194 - THE DESERT
WARRIOR TROPHY (About) 1600 Mts. (11 RUNNERS) |
|
|
|
Passing 600 meters, MISTER FIXIT
(Zameer Sayyed) shifted out and at the same time EXOTIC FANTASY (P Kamlesh) shifted
in and converged on PITLOCHRY (Vikram Jodha). Both the Jockeys, Zameer Sayyed
and P Kamlesh, have been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control
over their mounts. |

|
|
After the race, PAMELA BORDES was
found to be sore by right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. |
|
|

RACE NO.195 - THE PUNE
RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY (About) 2000 Metres. |
|
|
|
After
the race, SO PRECIOUS was found to have an abrasion on right hind coronet. |
|
|
|
As
the start was given, BREZHNEV (Sunny Chinoy) jumped out riderless. |
|
|
|
An Objection was lodged by Jockey
Sunny Chinoy rider of BREZHNEV against the Starter, stating that he was not
ready and his legs were not in the stirrup when the start was effected. |
|
|
|
The Stewards interviewed Jockey Sunny
Chinoy, the Stater and also Jockeys Vikram Walkar and R. Rupesh who were in
the adjacent stalls. After having heard the concerned person. The Stewards
over ruled the objection. |
|
|
|
RACE NO.196 - THE MALIBU
PLATE (About) 1400 Mts. (13 RUNNERS) |
|
|
|
Soon after the Start, MILLENNIUM KING
(Anil Baandal- dr7) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and bumped
CAMIKARA (Satish Nayak – dr 8) and forced her on to CZAI (Neeraj Rawal – dr
–9) and ricocheted back onto CAMIKARA (Satish Nayak). Since the incident was
accidental, no action was initiated against any Jockey. |
|
|
|
Samples of urine of the winners of the races 1st, 2nd,
3rd and 4th viz. DUDLEY, WEST COAST EAGLE, SECRET PARADISE and BIONIC ANGEL respectively
and that of OVATION & CINCINNATI (2ND race), RIVAAZ
& VIRGINIA WOLF (3rd race), BLAZING SPEED (5th
race) and EXOTIC FANTASY (7th
race) were sent for analysis. |

After the race STUNNING EFFOT was found to have lost the left fore
plate. |

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “SUPER
STRIKE” IN RACE NO 182 RUN ON 22ND OCTOBER 2005 AS COMPARED TO HIS
EARLIER RUN IN RACE NO 152 RUN ON 9TH OCTOBER 2005:

|
Trainer Altaf Hussain was
questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge SUPER STRIKE.
|
|
|
|
Considering that the running pattern was
different in Race no 182 and after going through the betting sheets, the
Stipendiary Stewrds were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by
Trainer Altaf Hussain and fined him Rs.5000/- for contravening the Calendar
Notification with regard to the Improvement in the performance of a horse in
a short span of time. |

|
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE
RUNNING AND RIDING OF “STUNNING EFFORT” IN RACE NO 182 RUN ON 22ND
OCTOBER 2005: |
|
|
|
Trainer Hanut Singh and Jockey Dharmender were questioned
regarding the running and riding of “STUNNING EFFORT”. Not being satisfied
with the explanation tendered by them, both the Trainer and the Jockey have
been fined Rs.3000 each. |
|
|
|
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE
RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SECOND TO GO” IN RACE NO 180 RUN ON 21ST
OCTOBER 2005 |
|
|
|
Tr. SK Sunderji and Jockey DG Shanker were
questioned regarding the running and riding of “SECOND TO GO”. |
|
|
|
Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D.G.
Shanker, he was fined Rs.2000/- for failing to persevere with his mount
thereby not giving his horse the best possible chance in the race. The
Trainer was cautioned for the future for not reporting the matter to the
Stipendiary Stewards before they called him. |
|
|
|
RE: POSITIVE REPORT IN
RESPECT OF “GLORIOUS FANTASY” (PLACED 4TH) FROM RACE NO. 133 RUN
ON 30TH SEPTEMBER 2005 THE GUIDING STAR PLATE – INCHARGE OF
TRAINER C.D. KATRAK : |

|
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on
9th October 2005 interviewed Trainer C.D. Katrak regarding the
positive report dated 9th October 2005 from the Equine Forensic
Unit, Dubai, UAE in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge
GLORIOUS FANTASY (pl.4th) in race no.133 – The Guiding Star Plate
run on 30th Sept. 2005 which read as under :- |
|
|
|
“Testing
for bases confirmed the presence of NORDIAZEPAM and TEMAZEPAM in sample
no.764BI. (NORDIAZEPAM and TEMAZEPAM are metabolites of DIAZEPAM and are not
normally present in equine urine.” |
|
|
|
At this meeting, Trainer C.D. Katrak was handed
over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr.
Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within 10 days of opening the
envelope that identifies the sample, whether he wishes to sent the split
sample for confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst,
if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the primary
laboratory as conclusive. |
|
|
|
At the meeting held on 15th October
2005 Trainer C.D. Katrak informed the Stewards that he does not wish to send
the split sample for confirmatory analysis. |
|
|
|
In
view of the above, the Stewards at their meeting on 29th October
2005 decided to consider the positive report from the Primary Laboratory as
conclusive and disqualified GLORIOUS FANTASY from race no.133 run on 30th
Sept. 2005 and revised the order of placing, as under :- |
