RACE NO.174 – THE WIGGLES PLATE (About) 1400 Metres. (9 Runners)

 

REGAL FANTASY (Vikram Walkar) hung-in in the straight, despite Jockey’s best effort. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the filly.

 

MAGICAL MORN (Altaf Sayyed) jumped out awkwardly, thereby losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer C.D. Katrak has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before accepting with him to race.

 

The Sr. V.O reported that, QUEEN’S SPECIAL was found to be sound. The mare had a wolf tooth on the right side.

 

 

RACE NO.175 – THE RAY OF LIGHT TROPHY (About) 1000 Metres. (10 Runners)

 

Tr. S. N. Joshi has been fined Rs.500/- for running his charge SAM ALDO in colours other than those registered.

 

On arrival at the starting post, on a request from Jockey M. Narredu, rider of FEDERICO, the saddle on his mount was adjusted and tightened.

 

Soon after the start, ALIXIANA (C. Ruzaan- dr2.) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside despite Jockey’s effort and went sharply across SAN ALDO (Nirmal Jodha –dr.1). Trainer Jayantilal K. Gor has been advised to take remedial measures with before next accepting to race with the filly.

 

Soon after the start, CARRERA (Zameer Sayyed – dr.6) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and bumped JOY AND PEACE (R. Rupesh – dr.5). Since the incident accidental no action has been taken against the Jockey.

 

Trainer. C.D. Katrak and Jockey Amyn Merchant were questioned regarding the running and riding of GOLDEN FLOWERS. During questioning Trainer C.D. Katrak expressed his dissatisfaction to the Jockey’s riding. The Jockey was instructed to be in the mid bunch and to do best in the straight.  It was put to the Jockey that he was not consistent with his effort in the straight thereby placing his mount at a disadvantage. The Jockey stated that he had followed the instruction and had rode out to his best of ability. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the riding of Jockey Amyn Merchant and submit their report later.

 

After the race, CARRERA was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.176 – THE NIJINSKY TROPHY (About) 1600 Metres. (10 Runners)

 

At the start, MAGIC TOUCH (P.S. Chouhan – dr.8) shifted in before the red marker, since no interference was caused, Jockey Chouhan has been advised to be more careful while changing course. 

 

Soon after the start, AGHA (Malcolm Kharadi – dr.4) shifted out despite Jockey’s effort and caused interference to STAR DESTINY (Altaf Sayyed – dr.5). Further, Jockey Malcolm Kharadi reported that his mount AGHA hung out throughout the race. Trainer Bezan Chinoy has been advised to take remedial measures with before next accepting to race with the gelding.

 

RACE NO.177 – THE CHAKORI TROPHY (About) 1200 Metres. (12 Runners)

 

ANGEL STAR (Imran Chisty) jumped out awkwardly thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Near 1000 meters, SUMMIT (C. Ruzaan) shifted in and hampered the running of GANDOR (Ikram Khan). Jockey C Ruzaan has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Tr. Imtaiz A. Sait, BEAMING was examined at 10.00 a.m. on 21/10/05 and found to have a painful swelling on the right fore tendon and also sore on by that limb. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  The filly has to be passed fit by the Club V.O. before next accepting to race with her.

 

The Stipendiary Steward will be enquiring into the running and riding of ANGEL STAR (Imran Chisty) and submit their report later.

 

RACE NO.178 – THE MIDORI TROPHY (About) 2000 Metres. (7 Runners)

 

PUISSANT was very fractious and reluctant to be stalled and as such was withdrawn from the race before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Nina Lalvani has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials before accepting with him to race.

 

Jockey Altaf Sayyed (GREAT ALLIANCE) reported that soon after the start, his mount threw his head up a couple of times.

 

RACE NO.179 - THE NAVA RATNA TROPHY (About) 1800 Metres.  (8 Runners) -  No Reports.

 

RACE NO.180 – THE STUNNING PLATE (About) 1200 Metres. (13 Runners)

 

HANDSOME LAD (Neeraj Rawal) was slow in the stride losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 1st, 5th, and 6th viz. REGAL FANTASY, WILD VEGAS,  and GOLDEN TRIANGLE respectively and also that of GOLDEN FLOWERS (2nd race), HIGH RISING (3rd race ), ANGEL STAR (4th race), GREAT ALLIANCE (5th race) and LONE TROJAN (6th race) were sent for analysis.

RE: RACE NO 150: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “OPEN SEASON” IN THE KINSKI PLATE RUN ON 9TH OCT. 2005 – TRAINER H.J. ANTIA & JOCKEY DILIP SINGH

 

Trainer HJ Antia and Jockey Dilip Singh were questioned regarding the running and riding of OPEN SEASON. Jockey Dilip Singh was observed to be very feeble on his mount in during the race and more so in the straight wherein he had made no effort to get into a good position after the Start and in the straight he had been feeble in his effort and horse brought him home.

 

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by the Trainer and the Jockey, both have been fined Rs.5000/- each for unsatisfactory running and riding of OPEN SEASON.

 

RE: WITHDRAWAL OF “MOONLIGHT FANTASY” FROM RACE NO. 126 RUN ON 29TH SEPTEMBER 2005 – IN CHARGE OF TRAINER NANA RAGHUNATH :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on 21st Oct. 2005 interviewed Trainer Nana Raghunath and Dr. SK Kulkarni in the above connection and having considered the submission made, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Nana Raghunath and resolved to :

 

1.       fine him a sum of Rs.5,000/- for accepting to race with an unsound horse in Race no.126 and therefore requesting for permission to withdraw the filly from the race on veterinary grounds

 

2.       suspend his Trainer’s License for 20th November 2005 for giving misleading evidence in the enquiry.
