RACE DAY REPORTS

(TRACK: MONSOON : GOING : GOOD) (PENETROMETRE : 1.8)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1000 METERS AND WERE ABOUT 2 MTRS. WIDE TILL 400 MTS AND THEREAFTER 1 MTS. WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST.) (THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER). (THE STARTING GATE FOR THE RACES HELD AT 1200 METERS WAS PLACED AT 1170 MTRS.)

RACE NO.165 - THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY (ABOUT) 1400 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

Soon after the Start, RYEBACK (Y.S. Srinath – dr.5) shifted in and took the running of RED AMYTHEIST (P.S. Chouhan – dr.1), who had to be checked to avoid clipping the hind heels of RYEBACK. Jockey Y.S. Srinath has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

An objection was lodged by Jockey Sunny Chinoy, rider of DON GAMA (pl. 2^nd) against Jockey Y.S. Srinath (RYEBACK – pl. 1^st). The reason being, soon after the jump out and passing 50 mts. RYEBACK came in and tightened the field whereby all the other runners had no option but to check the horses which in turn caused him a severe check, whereby he had to drop out and this cost him a certain race.

After interviewing the Jockeys concerned and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stewards overruled the objection.

After passing 1300 meters, OUR OWN STAR (B. Prakash) shifted in crowded the field on his inside, wherein CELUBRIOUS (M. Narredu) shifted onto SHARAPOVA (A. Imran Khan) who shifted in and bumped RED AMYTHEIST (P.S. Chouhan) and caused the filly severe interference. Jockey B. Prakash has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

RACE NO.166 - THE SIR SULTAN CHINOY TROPHY (About) 1400 Mts. (8 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Tr. Mansoor Shah, ROYAL HUNT was examined at 10.00 a.m. on 14/10/05 and found to have fever. As such, Tr. Mansoor Shah was permitted not to declare the gelding in this race on veterinary grounds.

On arrival at the starting post, on a request from Jockey M. Narredu, rider of DANCING IMAGE, the saddle on his mount was adjusted and tightened.

Jockey M Narredu rider of DANCING IMAGE was observed to use his whip in excess of the prescribed limit (13 times). On questioning, Jockey M. Narredu stated that his saddle had slipped and to maintain a straight course he has used the whip in excess as a corrective measure since the saddle had slipped. On questioning Trainer Altaf Hussain regarding the saddle slip, he stated that the horse left the Paddock with the correct application of the saddle and it was tightened at the Starting Gates. As such no action was initiated against anyone.

The Sr. V.O reported that, STARA ZAGORA was examined after the race and found to be sound. The gelding has a wolf tooth on the left side.

RACE NO.167 - THE JUSTICE S. R. TENDOLKAR TROPHY (About) 1600 Mts. (16 RUNNERS)

FANTASTIC FEELING (P.S. Chouhan) was slow in the stride losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails before accepting with her to race.

As the start was affected, OUT OFTHE ORDINARY (S. Bhadke) planted and took a slow jump, taking no practical part in the race. Since the filly was also slow in the stride in her earlier run this season. Tr. Robert D’Mellow has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race before accepting with her to race.

Soon after the start, BAND FOF GOLD (Suraj Narredu - dr.11) shifted in and bumped MOONDARRA (Neeraj Rawal dr.9). Jockey Suraj Narredu has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey Suraj Narredu reported that his mount, BAND OF GOLD hung out in the straight. Tr. S.K. Sunderji has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the filly.

The Sr. V.O. reported that, after the race, PRINCESS CHARMING was found to be sore by right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.168 - THE F. A. & K. A. IRANI TROPHY (About) 1400 Mts. (13 RUNNERS) -

RACE NO.169 - THE PRINCESS BEAUTIFUL TROPHY (About) 1800 Mts. (7 RUNNERS)

PITLOCHRY (Malcolm Kharadi) was declared to race with a visor. Since the races were run on the Monsoon track the Trainer wished to also use pacifiers on this mare. However, the trainer could not find a pacifier cum visor, as such he was permitted to race the mare with pacifier blinkers and the same was announced on Public Address System

Jockey Imran Chisty, rider of AMAZING STRIDES, reported that his mount was lugging-in in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the gelding.

The Sr. V.O reported that, PITLOCHRY was examined after the race and found to be sound. The mare had wolf tooth on both sides.

RACE NO.170 - THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY (About) 1200 Mts. (8 RUNNERS)

After being stalled STRUIE (Malcolm Kharadi) was restless in the stall. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been advised to give the filly more gate practice before next accepting with her to race.

REJUVENITE (K.P.G. Appu) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Mansoor has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the gelding.

Jockey P. Belose reported that his mount LAST’N IMPRESSION was inclined to hang out throughout the race. Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the colt.

The Sr. V.O reported that LAST’N IMPRESSION was examined after the race and found to be sound. The colt was observed to have a clip injury on right hind coronet.

RACE NO.171 - THE N. H. DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP (About) 1200 Mts. (6 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O. reported that, after the race, SHYBOY was found to be sore by left fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.172 - THE NANOLI STUD PUNE DERBY (GR.1) (About) 2000 Mts. (15 RUNNERS)

Trainer P. Shroff has been fined Rs.300/- for using rubber bit on his charge COLOR BEARER, without having sought prior permission.

Jockey M. Narredu (AQUILO) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in passing the 800 mts. Further, Jockey M Narredu has been reprimanded for exhibiting unnecessary use of whip in the straight.

FLAREON (Suraj Narredu) was observed to shift out near the 400 mts. thereby hampering the run of COLOR BEARER (M.A. Gallagher). Jockey Suraj Narredu has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

TANNUSH (Malcolm Kharadi) was placed 5^th and RISING FORCE (B. Prakash) was placed 6^th by the Judge in the race.

RACE NO.173 - THE J. E. HUGHES TROPHY (About) 2400 Mts. (5 RUNNERS)

PRINCELY DEAL (S. Bhadke) was slow in the stride losing about six lengths at the start. Trainer Mahroze Irani has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting with him to race.

The Sr. V.O. reported that, after the race, PRINCELY DEAL was found to go short by right fore leg. The gelding did not complete the race. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RYEBACK, OCEAN OF ANGELS, BAND OF GOLD, HAWKE BAY and AQUILO respectively and that of RED AMYTHEIST (1^st race), FEAR OF TEARS (4^th race ), REJUVENITE (6^th race) and the runners of The Nanoli Stud Pune Derby (Gr.1) place 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th FLAREON, DEDICATION and COLOUR BEARER respectively and also that of STAR GALAXY (8^th race) were sent for analysis.
