RACE DAY REPORTS

(PENETROMETER: 1.6, TRACK: MAIN GOING: FIRM)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METERS WIDE FROM 1400 METERS TO 1000 METERS, 3 METERS WIDE TILL 800 METERS AND THEREAFTER 4 METERS WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 METERS CHUTE TILL 1000 METERS, WIDTH ABOUT 4 METERS. - THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER.

Race No.148 - THE SILVER FIRE PLATE (DIV. II): (About) 1400 Mts. – 11 Runners

After the race, DOUGLAS was observed to have an abrasion on both hind fetlocks.

Race No.149 - THE OCTOBER HANDICAP: (About) 1200 Mts. – 4 Runners

BODY AND SOUL (Neeraj Rawal) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Race No.150 - THE KINSKI PLATE: (About) 1000 Mts. - 13 Runners

Jockey Amyn Merchant was declared to ride two horses, viz. CHASING DESTINY by Trainer Faisal A.Abbas & STAR OF DUBAI by Trainer Mansoor Shah. On enquiring it was established that the Jockey had accepted to ride two horses in the same race. As such, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.1000/- for his lapse.

FAIRY GODDESS (Hamir Singh) was slow in the stride, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Tr.Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

ZERMATT (Sunny Chinoy) was also slow in the stride, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Thereafter the filly refused to raise a gallop inspite of the Jockey’s effort. As such, Tr.Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before next accepting to race.

Passing 600 meters, DANGER IN SIGHT (P.S Chouhan) shifted in and caused interference to SPEEDSTER (Zameer Sayyed) who in turn shifted in and went on to SMART VANDU (Anil Baandal). Jockey P.S Chouhan has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of STAR OF DUBAI (Tr.Mansoor Shah & Jockey Amyn Merchant) and submit their report later.

The Sr.V.O. reported that STAR OF DUBAI was examined after the race and found to be sound.

Race No.151 - THE MIDNIGHT MADNESS TROPHY : (About) 1000 Mts. - 7 Runners

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Tr.S.S.Shah, TRUE WISDOM was examined at 7.30 a.m. on 8^th October, 2005 and found to have a swelling on the left fore fetlock and was sore on left limb. As such, Tr.S.S.Shah was permitted not to declare the filly in this race on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Soon after the Start, MAGIC WORDS (P. Kamlesh, dr.4) shifted in, with the rider making no effort to control his mount and caused interference to WILD FANTASY (Anil Baandal, dr.2) who was forced to shift in and caused severe interference to AMONG DREAMS (Imran Chisty, dr.1) along the rails. Jockey P. Kamlesh was reported to the Stewards for careless riding.

The Stewards interviewed Jockey P.Kamlesh and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, resolved to suspend his Jockey’s License with effect from 20^th October 2005 to 22^nd October 2005 (both days inclusive) for careless riding on his mount MAGIC WORDS. Further, he was severely cautioned for the future. (Permitted to ride work/mock race).

The Sr.V.O. reported that AMONG DREAMS was examined after the race and found to be sound. The filly had a wolf tooth on the left side.

Jockey M Narredu (EXCELLENTO) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, the Jockey stated that his mount was hanging-in and he used the whip in excess as a corrective measure. The explanation was accepted.

R.No.152 - THE AEROBICA PLATE: (About) 1100 Mts. – 10 Runners

After the race, SPHINX was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, LOVE AND BE LOVED was observed to have an abrasion on the right hind bulb of heel.

Race No.153 - THE FILLIES' AND MARES' STAKES (GRADE 3): (About) 1800 Mts.

- 6 Runners

ROSE PETALS (Neeraj Rawal) was slow in her stride losing about 6 lengths at the start. Tr.Arti Doctor has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race her.

Jockey P.S Chouhan, the rider of SELF APPOINTED, reported that he had accidentally lost his whip near 400 meters.

SELF APPOINTED (P.S.Chouhan) was placed fifth and ROSE PETALS (Neeraj Rawal) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

Race No.154 - THE NYMPH PLATE : (About) 1000 Mts. - 14 Runners

Passing 400 meters, STRIKING BEAUTY (Anil Baandal) shifted out and hampered the running of MOMENT OF CREATION (P.S Chouhan). Jockey Anil Baandal has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Race No.155 -THE SILVER FIRE PLATE (DIV. I): (About) 1400 Mts. – 12 Runners

COMMAND ZONE (P.S.Deora) was slow in his stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start. Tr.M.K.Jadhav has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting to race him.

After the race, AMADOMIO was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind pastern.

Samples of urine of the winners of the 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th and 7th races, viz DOUGLAS, STAR PRINCESS, FIRE GOD and RAPHAELA respectively, as also that of MAGIC WORDS (4^th race), FRIDA KAHLO & TIANA (7^th race) and MAGICAL MORN (10^th race), were sent for analysis.

APPEAL FROM TRAINER MANSOOR SHAH AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS TRAINER’S LICENCE W.E.F. 28/9/05 TO 30/4/06 AND NOT TO GRANT HIM A TRAINER’S LICENCE IF HE APPLIED FOR THE SAME, UP TO AND INCLUSIVE OF 27/9/06 – ENQ. INTO DOCUMENTS AND TUBE FOUND IN POSSESSION OF MR.SATTAR – TRAINER MANSOOR SHAH WAS GRANTED A STAY ON THE ABOVE PUNISHMENT UP TO 9/10/05 :

The Board of Appeal at it’smeeting held on Sunday, 9^th October, 2005 considered the Appeal from Trainer Mansoor Shah and having considered all the submissions made, decided to reject his appeal. In view of the stay granted to Mr.Mansoor Shah, his punishment will now be from 17^th October, 2005 to 16^th October, 2006 (both days inclusive).
