(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 1 METER WIDE FROM 1200 METERS TO 1000 METERS, 2 METERS WIDE TILL 800 METERS AND THEREAFTER 3 METERS WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 METERS CHUTE TILL 1000 METERS, WIDTH ABOUT 3 METERS. - THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER.

RACE NO.140 - THE ORANGE FLOWER PLATE : (About) 1200 Mts.- 10 Runners

Jockey Sunny Chinoy (DAZZLING RAY) reported that his mount hung-in during the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RACE NO.141 - THE PRINCE JEHAN TROPHY- DIV. II: (About) 1200 Mts.

Near 700 meters, CRY OF TRUTH (Malcolm Kharadi) was hampered for room when CRYSTAL QUEEN (Rajeev Pandey) shifted in. Jockey Rajeev Pandey has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey R Rupesh (DESPERADO) reported that his mount hung-out while negotiating the final bend. Trainer Faisal Abbas has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of SECRET PARADISE (M Narredu) and submit their report later.

RACE NO.142 - THE PRINCE JEHAN TROPHY - DIV. I: (About) 1200 Mts.

Jockey C Alford was declared to ride on two horses in this race viz. PREMIER IMAGE by Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait and CINCINNATI by Trainer Nina Lalvani. On enquiring, it was established that the Jockey had confirmed to ride two horses in the same race. As such, Jockey C Alford has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

ZROOM (P Belose, dr.7) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside despite Jockey’s effort and bumped PREMIER IMAGE (C Alford, dr.6). Jockey P Belose has been advised to be more alert in the Gates.

After the race, ZROOM was found to have an abrasion on the right fore fetlock.

RACE NO.143 - THE K. RAGHUNATH PLATE: (About) 1000 Mts.- 14 Runners

Trainer Sangramsinh Joshi requested for permission for the withdrawal of his charge AL NAJDAIN, after having Declared his charge to Start, on the grounds that he had overlooked the medication given to this horse. Trainer Sangramsinh Joshi was permitted not to race his charge and he has been fined Rs.15,000 for his lapse.

Approaching 200 meters, COURAGEOUS (P.S Deora) shifted in when not being sufficiently clear off EMPEACHMENT (S Bhadke), thereby hampering the running of the latter. Jockey P.S Deora has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

After the race, it was observed that EMMANUEL had lost his half right fore plate.

RACE NO.144 - THE TRACK LIGHTNING TROPHY: (About) 2000 Mts. - 5 Runners

RACE NO.145 - THE SUPER BRAVE TROPHY: (About) 2000 Mts.- 8 Runners

Near 1200 meters, FRIENDLY GIFT (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and hampered the running of WILD VEGAS (S.N Chavan). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

LEBOMBO (M Narredu) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Vinayak has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, LEBOMBO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, CHIMANGO was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.

RACE NO.146 - THE INCENCE PLATE : (About) 1800 Mts.- 9 Runners

DESERT RALLY (Nirmal Jodha) hung out in the straight despite Jockey’s best effort and finished racing on the Outer River Sand Track. Trainer S.K Sunderji has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

RACE NO.147 - THE ZARVARI PLATE: (About) 1800 Mts.- 12 Runners

After traveling some distance from the start, GREAT ALLIANCE (Amyn Merchant) clipped the hind heels of the horse in front of him and stumbled. Since the incident was accidental, no action was initiated against any jockey.

Thereafter traveling some distance further, GREY STORM (K Deepesh) stumbled and dislodged it’s rider. Since Jockey Deepesh was unavailable for questioning, the incident has been kept pending.

Samples of urine of the winners of the 3^rd, 5^th, 6^th and 8^th races, viz ZROOM, SOMERSET WEST, ARDMORE and HAVANA respectively, as also that of AL NAJDAIN (4^th race) were sent for analysis.

RE: BREACH OF MORNING TRACK RULES

Trainers Sorab F Jilla and D.J Surti were fined Rs.3000/- each, for being in breach of the Morning Track Rules wherein their horses were observed to have gone pace work after 7.30 a.m. on the Inner Sand Track (All Weather Track).

RE: RACE NO 136: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “DONEGAL BAY” IN THE BLAZING FAITH PLATE RUN ON 30^TH SEPTEMBER 2005

Trainer Rehanullah Khan and Jockey Ikram Khan were questioned regarding the running and riding of DONEGAL BAY in Race No.136 – The Blazing Faith Plate run on 30^th September, 2005.

The video recording of the race, the front view as well as the back view was viewed and it was pointed out to Jockey Ikram Khan that conceding that he had traffic problems at the start, he did not seem very keen to follow his instructions thereafter, which were to sit well up. Further, he was extremely feeble in the straight. Tr. Rehanullah Khan concurred with the Stipes that the Jockey was feeble in the straight. However, since the boy had informed him that the horse was leaning on the rails and because of the kick back his vision was hampered, he could not say anything in the matter.

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Ikram Khan, he was fined Rs.5,000/- for not persevering with his mount throughout the race.

RE: RACE NO 136: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “BORN DESTINY” IN THE BLAZING FAITH PLATE RUN ON 30^TH SEPEMBER 2005:

Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey P.Kamlesh were questioned regarding the running and riding of BORN DESTINY in Race No.136 – The Blazing Faith Plate run on 30^th September, 2005.

The video recording of the race, normal view as well as the back view, were viewed and it was pointed out to Jockey P.Kamlesh that conceding that he had met with interference at the start, thereafter, he could have got a better position. Tr.Katrak concurred with the Stipendiary Stewards and added that in fact the Jockey should have given a crack at that stage and tried to follow the front runners.

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey P.Kamlesh, he was fined Rs.3,000/- for riding an injudicious race.

RE: RACE NO: 133 ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “GLORIOUS FANTASY” IN THE GUIDING STAR PLATE RUN ON 30^TH SEPTEMBER 2005:

Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey Amyn Merchant were questioned regarding the poor performance of GLORIOUS FANTASY in Race No.133 – The Guiding Star Plate run on 30^th September, 2005. Tr.Katrak stated that he had instructed the Jockey to sit in 3^rd/4^th position and to do his best. He said that he had expected the horse to win in this Class but obviously his filly turned out to be poorer than what he had thought of her. He said he had fancied the filly to win and he was very disappointed with her performance in this race.

Jockey Amyn Merchant confirmed the instructions and added that he too had fancied the filly and expected her to win very easily in this Class.

After viewing the video recording of the race, the explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey were noted.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “FREEDOM’S CHOICE” IN R.NO.136 THE BLAZING FAITH PLATE RUN ON 30^TH SEPTEMBER 2005 AS COMPARED TO ITS EARLIER RUN DURING THE CURRENT PUNE MEETING 2005:

1) Trainer Altamash Ahmed and Jockey Amyn Merchant were questioned regarding the comparative performance of FREEDOM’S CHOICE in Race No.136 – The Blazing Faith Plate run on 30^th September, 2005 which the gelding won as compared to his previous two runs during the current Pune Meeting.

Tr.Altamash Ahmed said that he had given similar instructions in all the three races during the current Pune Meeting i.e. to take a good jump and sit in 2^nd/3^rd position and to do his best in the straight. He added that the horse had run a very good race in Race No.53 where he had finished a close fifth. In Race No.104, the horse had stumbled badly on jump out which reflects in the Race Day Reports, and thereafter the horse did not show interest in the race and did not gallop. In the race in question, the Jockey managed to sit in 2^nd/3^rd position and the horse won the race. He said that the horse was at 20 to 1 and above on all the three occasions.

Jockey Amyn confirmed the instructions and stated that in Race No.104 the horse had stumbled after jump out and thereafter did not gallop.

After viewing the video recording of the three races of FREEDOM’S CHOICE this current Pune Meeting and going through the betting sheets, the explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey have been accepted.

2) Trainer Narendra Lagad was questioned regarding the poor performance of AMADOMIO in Race No.136 – The Blazing Faith Plate run on 30^th September, 2005. He stated that the horse was running in much better company in Race No.136 as compared to his previous two outings and in his opinion the horse ran a good race. If at all, he had performed slightly bad, it was due to the underfoot conditions on this day.

After viewing the video recording of the race, the explanation tendered by Tr.Narendra Lagad has been noted.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING & RIDING OF “MORPHEUS” IN RACE NO.121 RUN ON 25^TH SEPTEMBER, 2005 :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 8^th October, 2005 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. They interviewed Trainer Faisal A.Abbas and Jockey V.Kotwal and having considered the submissions made by them and viewing the video recording of Race No.121 as also the previous two races of MORPHEUS during the current Pune Meeting, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey V.Kotwal and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount MORPHEUS in Race No.121. Therefore, the Stewards suspended his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 19^th October, 2005 to 4^th December, 2005 (both days inclusive) (Not permitted to ride work).

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING & RIDING OF “VANILLA SKY” IN RACE NO.124 RUN ON 25^TH SEPTEMBER, 2005 :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 8^th October, 2005 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. They interviewed Trainer Mansoor Shah and Jockey Vikram Jodha and having considered the submissions made by them directed the Stipendiary Stewards to make further enquiries into the matter and to submit a report.
