RACE DAY REPORTS

 

(TRACK: MONSOON - GOING: GOOD) (PENETROMETER READING :  1.9)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 10 METERS WIDE FROM 1200 METERS CHUTE TILL 1000 METERS. FOR THE RACES RUN OVER 1200 METERS, THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT 1170 METERS) THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER AS MEASURED BY THE ROADOMETER.).

 

RACE NO 126: THE AMBERLAND PLATE : (1000 MTS. – 9 RUNNERS)

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that, at the request of Trainer Nana Raghunath, MOONLIGHT FANTASY was examined on 29th Sept. 2005 at 9.30 a.m. and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the mare was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the circumstances, which led to the withdrawal of this horse and would submit their report later.

 

At the Start, STIGMATA (S.K. Jadhav, dr.1) threw her head up whereby the Jockey lost his balance briefly. In the straight, STIGMATA (S.K. Jadhav) drifted out despite Jockey’s efforts. Since the filly had returned sore after the race, no action has been initiated.

 

UNDERSTANDING (L Prashant) was inclined to hang-out soon after the Start and near 400 meters hung-out and forced COLOUR OF JOY (Nirmal Jodha) to shift out and hamper the running of PRINCE OF SURAVINE (Zameer Sayyed). Since the filly was inclined to hang out, no action was initiated against Jockey L Prashant. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been advised to take remedial measure with the filly before accepting to race.

 

After the race, it was observed that CHICANE had broken a blood vessel. The filly has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting to race.

 

Further, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that, after the race, STIGMATA was examined at the request of the Stipendiary Stewards and was found to be sore by her left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit to race before accepting to race her.   

 

RACE NO.127 – THE CHIEF RULER PLATE (DIV.II): (1200 MTS. – 8 RUNNERS)

 

CINCINNATI (Malcolm Kharadi) was fractious and reluctant to stall. As such, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders. Trainer Nina Lalvani has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and shown to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting with her to race.

 

Soon after the Start, DEGAS (M. Narredu - dr.3) shifted in and hampered PRETTY BALLERINA (P. Sandeep - dr.2). Jockey M. Narredu has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

OVATION (P.S. Chouhan) ran green during the race.

 

TAKE ON (S.K. Jadhav) trailed the field.

 

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that, after the race, GOLDEN TRIANGLE was examined and found to have a clip injury on the right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.128 – THE CHIEF RULER PLATE (DIV.I) : (1200 MTS. – 10 RUNNERS)

 

SILKEN SUNRISE (Nirmal Jodha) was slow in the strides losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer S.K. Sunderji has been asked to give the filly more gate practice before accepting with her to race.

 

In the last furlong, FLYING GLORY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and hampered the running of AMANAT (M. Narredu). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.  

 

After the race, it was observed that SPECTACULAR KING had broken a blood vessel. The gelding has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s Veterinary Officer before accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.129 – THE SIR H.M.MEHTA TROPHY : (1400 MTS. – 5 RUNNERS)

 

FEAR OF TEARS (P. Kamlesh) was permitted to be led to the Starting Gates. After the race, FEAR OF TEARS, was found to have an abrasion on the left hock.

 

RACE NO.130 – THE RHYTHM TROPHY : (1800 MTS. –10 RUNNERS)

 

Near 1600 meters, LA TREMOLO (Nirmal Jodha) clipped the horse in front and stumbled.

 

After the race, Jockey B. Prakash (SECRET DANCE) reported that he found his mount to be uncomfortable in the race. The Sr. Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the colt for any abnormality.

 

The Sr. Veterinary Officer reported that, after the race, SECRET DANCE was observed to have lost it’s right fore plate.

 

RACE NO.131 – THE MOHAWK TROPHY: (2400 MTS. – 5 RUNNERS)   - NO REPORTS.

 

RACE NO.132 – THE FULL FLIGHT PLATE: (1400 MTS. – 12 RUNNERS)

 

Approaching 400 meters, WIN FOR ME (Sunny Chinoy) shifted out and hampered the running of STARMANIAC (B. Prakash) and after traveling some distance, shifted in and caused severe interference to OPIUM (P.S. Chouhan). Jockey Sunny Chinoy has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

SULEMAN PASHA (R Biramne) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

Samples of the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 5th race viz. UNDERSTANDING, DEGAS and THUNDERING POWER, as also that of, MOONLIGHT FANTASY (1st race) were sent for analysis.

RE: BREACH OF MORNING TRACK RULES – TRAINER DALLAS TODYWALLA

 

Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.3000/- for being in breach of Morning Track Rules wherein his horses went pace work after 7.30 a.m. on the Inner Sand Track (All Weather Track).

 

RE: MERCY PETITION OF MR. NIRAD KARANJAWALA:

 

The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 24th September 2005 considered the Mercy Petition of Mr. Nirad Karanjawala. The Board heard him and considered all documents with regard to his Mercy Petition and having applied their minds to all aspects of the case, resolved to partially reduce his period of suspension up to and inclusive of 31st December 2005. However, the remaining period of punishment from 1st January 2006 to 27th October 2007 shall be kept pending as a suspended sentence for the next 5 years commencing from 1st January 2006 and if Mr. Nirad Karanjawala is found guilty of a similar offence or any other malpractice within a period of 5 years, starting from 1st January 2006, the punishment which is kept pending as suspended sentence would be added onto any other any other punishment that may be imposed on him by the Stewards of the Club.
