RACE DAY REPORTS

 

(TRACK: MONSOON, GOING: GOOD) - (PENETROMETER: New : 1.9 – Old : 4.1)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1200 MTS. CHUTE TILL 1000 MTS. WIDTH ABOUT 10 MTS AND THEREAFTER NO FALSE RAILS. THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER AS MEASURED BY THE ROADOMETER. FOR THE RACES RUN OVER 1200 METERS, THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT 1170 METERS)

 

On a request, from Tr. Arjun Mangalorkar, permission was granted to Tr. Vinayak to saddle his charge THE ZAMINDAR in The Idar Gold Trophy (Gr.3) race at his (Tr. Arjun Mangalorkar's) risk and responsibility.                                                 ------

 

RACE NO.119. THE CAPITULATE PLATE  (About) 1400 Metres.   (11 Runners)

 

The Sr. V.O. reported, that at the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, QUEEN ADLER, was examined on 25th September 2005, and found to have an injury on the left elbow and was certified unfit to race, as such the filly was withdrawn on Veterinary ground.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant, rider of ADAM’S AMBITION, reported that his horse was fractious in the gates and as the start was affected the mare threw her head up whereby he lost his balance momentarily and by the time he could regain his balance, he had lost about 2 lengths at the start. Trainer Hanut Singh has been advised to give the mare more gate practice before accepting with her to race.

 

PREMIER GALAXY (P Kamlesh) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

 

RACE NO.120. THE SCAGLIETTI PLATE  (About) 1000 Metres.   (12 Runners)

 

A Stewards Enquiry was held, the reason being that near 400 meters, CINE STAR (P. Belose) shifted in due to which PLEASURE ZONE (P.S. Chouhan) shifted in despite Jockey’s effort and bumped WHISPERED SECRET (Rajeev Pandey) who collided against the rails and fell, dislodging the rider. The Stewards interviewed the Jockeys concerned and relying on their own observation decided that no change in the order of placing was called for.

 

Since Jockey Rajeev Pandey was unavailable for his comments, the Stewards deferred the consideration of this matter, to a later date, when Jockey Rajeev Pandey can also present.

 

WHISPERED SECRET (Rajeev Pandey) had a fall in the race and the filly sustained a skull injury and collapsed immediately.

 

BLAZING SPEED (S.P Ranjane) hung-in in the straight. Trainer HJ Antia has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BLAZING SPEED was found to have lost its right hind plate.

 

 

RACE NO.121. THE SILVER HAVEN TROPHY  (About) 1600 Metres.   (12 Runners)

 

At the Start, SAIL AWAY (C. Alford, dr.3) shifted out and hampered the running of CORNELIA SUPRA (S.N. Chavan - dr.4). Jockey C Alford has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

FIREY FUTURE (Vikram Jodha, dr.5) jumped out awkwardly and crowded SONIC SYMPHONY (P Belose, dr.6) and ABSOLUTE DOMINANCE (Nirmal Jodha, dr.7). Since the incident was accidental, no action was initiated. 

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of MORPHEUS (V.Kotwal) and submit later. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has also lodged a complaint against the Jockey for not following his instructions.

 

BIG BLAZE (Abhishek Habbu) hung-in in the straight. Trainer S. Mangalorkar has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MORPHEUS was found to have an abrasion on right fore fetlock.

 

After the race, SUPREME ACT was found to have an abrasion on left hind fetlock.

 

 

RACE NO.122. THE COMMONER TROPHY  (About)1600 Metres.   (7 Runners)

 

Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount GOLD STAR. (11 times)

 

In the final stages of the race SECRET WARRIOR (B.Prakash) shifted in and hampered the running of AIR STRIKE (Amyn Merchant). Jockey B. Prakash has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

 

RACE NO.123. THE IDAR GOLD TROPHY (GR.3)  (About) 2400 Metres.   (7 Runners)

 

The Sr. V.O. reported, that at the request of Trainer M.K. Jadhav, ROAD RUNNER, was examined at 10.45 a.m. on 25th September 2005, and found to go short by right fore leg and was certified unfit to race, as such the gelding was withdrawn on Veterinary ground. The gelding has to be passed fit before next accepting him to race.

 

THE ZAMINDAR (Malcolm Kharadi) was very reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar has been advised to give the horse more gate practice before accepting with him to race.

After the race, FLAVIUS VICTOR, was found to be sore by left fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before accepting him to race.

 

CAMPANERO (Neeraj Rawal) was placed 5th and FIDDLE FADDLE (C. Ruzaan) was placed 6th by the Judge, in this race.

 

 

RACE NO.124. THE YOGENDER SINGH TROPHY (About) 1200 Metres.   (12 Runners)

 

Near 1000 mts. EMMANUEL (L. Prashant) became very keen and to avoid clipping the hind heels of the front horse, shifted out and interfered with VERZZANO (M.Narredu). Since the interference was accidental no action was initiated.

 

Jockey Sunny Chinoy (DON GAMA) has been cautioned for hampering the running of BELLE CHOSE (Neeraj Rawal) between 800 meters to 600 meters, wherein he has allowed his mount to lean on to BELLE CHOSE (Neeraj Rawal).

 

EMMANUEL hung-out while negotiating the bend and traveled wide in the straight. Tr. Amjad Khan has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of VANILLA SKY (Vikram Jodha) and submit their report later.

 

 

RACE NO.125 - THE AMARILO PLATE  (About) 1200 Metres.   (11 Runners)

 

WONDER WHEEL (P. Sandeep - dr.10) was very reluctant to be stalled. INTENSE PLEASURE (Vikram Walkar – dr.3) after being stalled, ducked under from the front gates. After examination by the Sr. V.O. the mare was re-stalled. However, the mare again tried to duck out and in the process was injured, as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainers Dallas Todywalla and Faisal A. Abbas have been recommended to give their respective charges more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting with them to race.

 

 

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 9th viz. CINE STAR, SUPREME ACT, SIMPLY SUPREME and OSCAR STAR respectively, and that of ADOLFITO & THE ZAMINDAR (5th race) were sent for analysis.

RE: APPEAL PREFERRED BY JOCKEY R. BIRAMNE AGAINST THE FINE OF RS.3000/- IMPOSED BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS FOR HIS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “SOUND OF SILENCE” IN RACE NO. 43 RUN ON 21ST AUGUST 2005:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their Meeting held on 24th September 2005, interviewed Jockey R. Biramne and his spokesman Mr. Malcolm Kharadi and having heard the submissions made by them and Trainer Hanut Singh viewing the video recording of the race.

 

a)      Decided to allow Jockey R Biramne’s Appeal and the fine of Rs.3000/- imposed on him was rescinded.

 

b)      During the hearing of the Appeal preferred by Jockey R. Biramne, the Stewards found Trainer Hanut Singh guilty of giving misleading evidence in the enquiry regarding the instructions given to Jockey R. Biramne and fined him Rs.5000/-.

RE: MERCY PETITION OF MR. S. SUNIL IN RESPECT OF HIS WITHDRAWL OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE - ENQUIRY INTO HIS ASSOCIATION WITH AN EXCLUDED PERSON AND INDULGING IN MALPRACTICE:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their Meeting held on 24th Sept. 2005, considered the Mercy Petition from Mr. S. Sunil and after having heard all the submissions made, decided to reject his Mercy Petition.

RE: APPEAL PREFERRED BY TR. M.K. JADHAV AGAINST THE FINE OF Rs.3,000/- IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS – ENQUIRY OPENED INTO THE RIDING OF JOCKEY VIKRAM WALKAR ON “ARCTIC ZONE” IN RACE NO 6, RUN ON 6TH AUGUST 2005:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their Meeting held on 24th September 2005, heard the Appeal and after considering all submissions made by his Trainer M.K. Jadhav and viewing the video recording of Race no 6 as also the subsequent run of the horse in Race No 43, resolved to allow his Appeal and rescind the fine of Rs.3000/-.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE ALLEGED POSSESSION OF TUBE AND DOCUMENTS IN THE ROOM OF SATTAR, EMPLOYED IN THE STABLES OF TRAINER MANSOOR SHAH

 

The Stewards of the Club at their Meeting held on 17th Sept. 2005, considered all documents, submissions made by Mr. Mansoor Shah and his spokesman not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, found him guilty of giving misleading evidence in the Enquiry and indirectly training horses and decided to suspend his Trainer’s License w.e.f. 28th September 2005 upto the end of the Mumbai Meeting 2005/ 2006 and further decided not to grant him a Trainer’s License upto and inclusive of 27th September 2006.
