RACE DAY REPORTS

(TRACK: MONSOON : GOING: GOOD) (PENETROMETER: New: 1.9 – Old: 4.2)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1200 MTS. CHUTE TILL 1000 MTS. WIDTH ABOUT 10 MTS. AND THEREAFTER NO FALSE RAILS. THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER AS MEASURED BY THE ROADOMETER. FOR THE RACES RUN OVER 1200 METERS, THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT 1170 METERS).

RACE NO 111. THE JAIDEV PLATE (About) 1600 Metres. (8 Runners)

SKY HUNTER (Zameer Sayyed) was slow in the stride losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Sangramsinh Joshi has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before accepting with him to race.

Tr. Anil Kumar and Jockey Rajeev Pandey were questioned regarding the running and riding of SPEED SACHET and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Rajeev Pandey, he has been fined Rs.3,000/- for not following Trainer’s instructions, thereby not giving his horse the best possible chance in the race.

After the race, DUKE ELLINGTION, was found to have an abrasion on the right knee.

Jockey Vikram Jodha rider of BATTERY, reported that he lost his whip near 400 mts. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit their report later.

RACE NO 112. THE FAIRY GOLD PLATE - DIVISION I (About) 1400 Metres. (12 Runners)

SO PRECIOUS (B. Prakash) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been advised to give the filly more gate practice before accepting with her to race.

Near 500 mts. STAR DIVINE (Malcolm Kharadi) shifted in and cramped PARTY GAME (Nirmal Jodha) for room who received interference and dropped back. At that stage, LIVE IT LOVE IT (Vikram Walker) who was racing behind PARTY GAME collided with the latter and in his attempt to regain balance interfered with EMPEACHMENT (P. Kamlesh). Jockey Malcolm Kharadi has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

STAR DESTINY (Altaf Sayyed) trailed the field.

After the race, PARTY GAME, was found to have an abrasion on the left shank.

After the race, EMPEACHMENT, was found to be sore by right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO 113. THE FAIRY GOLD PLATE - DIVISION II (About) 1400 Metres. (12 Runners)

FLAVIA (C. Alford) was reluctant to be stalled and ANNUCIATION (P. Kamlesh) was fractious after being stalled. Trainers Imtiaz A. Sait and C.D. Katrak has been advised to give the respective charges more gate practice before accepting with them to race.

MONEY QUEEN (Zameer Sayyed) hung-in in the straight. Trainer D.J. Surti has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the filly.

FLAVIA (C. Alford, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and hampered the running of DISCOVER (J. Pradeep, dr.11). Jockey C. Alford has been asked to be more careful in the Gates.

After the race, MONEY QUEEN, was found to be sore by right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting her to race.

After the race, it was observed that UBER ALLES, had broken a blood vessel. The gelding has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club's V.O. before next accepting him to race.

RACE NO 114. THE A. J. WADIA PLATE (About) 1200 Metres. (12 Runners)

BABITA (Amyn Merchant) was slow in the stride losing about 3 lengths at the start. Tr. Jayantilal K. Gor has been advised to give the mare more gate practice before accepting with her to race.

TARRAGONA (S.P. Ranjane - dr.9) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside. Thereafter DOMINIQUE (P.S. Chouhan - dr.10) shifted in on to TARRAGONA (S.P. Ranjane) who shifted in and caused interference to ADAM’S BANK (Malcolm Kharadi) who in turn went on to CHARGING RHINO (P Belose). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

ACERENZZA (K. Deepesh) hung-in badly in the straight despite Jockey’s best efforts to control. Trainer P. Shroff has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the gelding.

After the race, REIGN OF FIRE, was found to be sore by right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO 115 - THE PUNE COLTS AND FILLIES TRIAL STAKES (About) 1200 Mts. (6 Runners)

After traveling some distance from the start, ARMAMENT (C Alford) shifted out and bumped REJUVENITE (Amyn Merchant). Jockey C. Alford has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

The saddle on JUBILATION (P. Kamlesh) was observed to have slipped back during the race. Tr. C. D. Katrak has been fined Rs.1,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

After the race, JUBILATION was found to have wolf teeth on both the side of the mouth.

RACE NO 116 - THE MULTIROSA (About) 1200 Metres. (10 Runners)

The Sr. V.O. reported, that at the request of Trainer H.J. Antia, SEATTLE SWAN, was examined at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 23^rd Sept. 2005 and found to be sore by left fore leg, the mare was certified unfit to race, as such was withdrawn on veterinary ground. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After being stalled, FREE TO FLY (Anil Baandal) reared up and tipped over in the stall, the filly had to be removed out from the rear gates. The filly was withdrawn from the race before coming under Starter’s order. Considering the similar behaviour of the filly in her earlier runs. Trainer Narendra Lagad has being asked show her to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race before accepting with her to race.

After traveling some distance from the start HOT TIN ROOF (S.P. Ranjane) shifted in and forced VRIKODARA (Nirmal Jodha) to shift in on to SHOCKWAVE (P.S. Chouhan) who went on to ADAM’S STAR (Malcolm Kharadi) who, in turn, shifted in and caused interference to PATH OF FORTUNE (B. Prakash). Jockey S.P. Ranjane has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey Sk. Farooq (HIDDEN DRAGON) reported that soon after the Start, the left stirrup leather snapped and fell. On examination of the equipment, it was found to be in serviceable condition as such no action was initiated.

ROYAL HUNT (P. Kamlesh) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RACE NO 117. THE TAKE ON PLATE (About) 1000 Metres. (11 Runners)

On arrival at the starting post, TRUE BEAUTY (Neeraj Rawal) was found to have lost its right fore shoe plate, hence the other plate was also removed, but on examination by the Sr. V.O the filly was found to be sore by right fore leg and was certified unfit to race. As such the filly was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Soon after the Start, MARANELLO (V Kotwal – dr.10) shifted in and went across the field on his inside and in the process hampered the running of TEASER (Zameer Sayyed) and VISION REMAINS (P.S. Chouhan – dr.6). Jockey V Kotwal has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Near 800 mts. BLAZING ARROW (Vikram Jodha) shifted out and hampered the running of TEASER (Zameer Sayyed). Jockey Vikram Jodha has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

RACE NO 118. THE NECTAR QUEEN PLATE (About) 1000 Metres. (11 Runners)

On arrival at the starting post, HOLY WARRIOR, was examined and found to be sore by left fore leg and was certified unfit to race. As such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

BLUE SPIRIT hung out in the initial stages of the race. Trainer Imtiaz a Sait has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race. .

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 1^st, 4^th, 5^th, and 9^th viz. GREAT ALLIANCE, EXOTIC FANTASY, ARMAMENT and ADAM’S STAR respectively, were sent for analysis.

RACE NO – 81 - ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING OF “WIN FOR ME” IN ALL ITS RUNS DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2005:

An enquiry was initiated into the running of WIN FOR ME during the current Pune Meeting 2005 specifically in the last two races i.e. in Race no 47 and Race no 81. After hearing Trainer Narendra Lagad and the jockeys concerned after going through the betting sheets, the Stipendiary Stewards noted the explanation tendered.

RACE 76 – ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “ROMANTIC HERO” (C. ALFORD - TRAINED BY MR. IMTIAZ A. SAIT) IN THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY RUN ON 4^TH SEPT. 2005

Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait and Jockey C. Alford were questioned regarding the poor performance of ROMANTIC HERO in race no.76 run on 4^th Sept. 2005 and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by the Jockey, he has been fined Rs.3000/- for riding an Injudicious race whereby he has not made sufficient effort to maintain good position. After viewing the past races of this horse, it is evident that the horse has run its better races when being in front.
