RACE DAY REPORTS

(TRACK: MONSOON : GOING GOOD) (PENETROMETRE : 2 new – 4.2 old)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1100 METERS AND WERE ABOUT 2.5 MTS. WIDE TILL 425 MTS.) FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 MTS CHUTE TILL 1000 MTS. WIDTH ABOUT 10 MTS. (THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER). (THE STARTING GATE FOR THE RACES HELD AT 1200 METERS WAS PLACED AT 1170 MTRS.)

On a request, Trainer Sangramsinh Joshi was given permission for his Assistant, Mr. Yogesh Bhoj, to saddle his charge, EXULT, in the 8^th race – The Inglenook Plate at his (Tr. Sangramsinh Joshi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.102 - THE ADAM'S TREASURE PLATE (About) 1000 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

CHICANE (Y. S. Faizan – dr.8) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and hampered the running of SILENT SPECTATOR (P. S. Chouhan – dr7). Jockey Y. S. Faizan has been asked to be more careful at the Start.

Jockey Anil Baandal (TOMAHAWK) has been reprimanded for unnecessary use of the whip wherein he has used his whip when he was well clear of the field.

After the race, both OUT TO WIN and FORASONG, were found to go sore by right fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with them to race.

RACE NO.103 - THE ALEXANDRESS PLATE - DIV.I (About) 1400 Mts. (10 RUNNERS)

STAR STRIKE (M. Narredu – dr.5) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and set a chain reaction wherein CORNELIA SUPRA (S.N. Chavan – dr.4) went on to SHEEN FALLS (Y.S. Srinath – dr.3) who went on to SOUTHERN COMMAND (S.K. Jadhav – dr.2). Since the incident was accidental no action was initiated against any Jockey.

After the race, OLD FLAME, was observed to have a wolf tooth in the mouth on the right side.

RACE NO.104 - THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI TROPHY (About) 1400 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

FREEDOM’S CHOICE (Amyn Merchant – dr.5) stumbled soon after the Start.

Near 1200 meters SAVOY (Neeral Rawal) stumbled for no apparent reason.

After the race, SAVOY, was found to have an abrasion on the left fore cannon.

RACE NO.105 - THE ALEXANDRESS PLATE - DIV.II (About) 1400 Mts. (10 RUNNERS)

Near 900 meters, SPADE OF ACE (C. Aflord) shifted out and hampered the running of DISCOVER (J. Pradeep). Jockey C. Alford has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Near 300 meters, ROMANTIC RIDGE (K.P.G. Appu) shifted in despite Jockey’s best efforts and caused interference to NUCLEUS (Vikram Walker). Since the incident was accidental,no action was initiated against the Jockey. Tr. Sanjay Kolse has been advised to take remedial measures with his charge ROMANTIC RIDGE, before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, COLLATERAL, was found to have an abrasion on the right shank.

RACE NO.106 - THE MENORAH TROPHY (About) 1400 Mts. (11 RUNNERS) – NO REPORTS.

RACE NO.107 - THE MYSORE RACE CLUB TROPHY (About) 1200 Mts. (10 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Mansoor Shah, TOUGH WARRIOR was examined at 11.00 a.m. and again at 1.45 p.m. on 16^th Sept. 2005 and found to go short by right fore leg. As such the gelding was certified unfit to race and Trainer Mansoor was permitted, not to declare the gelding. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, ONE WAY (P. Belose) shifted in and forced MYSTERIOUS LAND (R. Rupesh) to shift in and caused severe interference to DIFFIDENCE (B. Prakash) along the rails. Jockey P. Belose was reported to the Stewards for careless riding. The Stewards interviewed Jockey P. Belose and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, resolved to suspend his Jockey’s License for 29^th September 2005. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

Jockey C. Alford, rider of GET FRESH, reported the loss of his whip 200 mts. before the winning post.

In the final stages of the race, SHYBOY (P. Kamlesh) shifted in and inconvenienced MYSTERIOUS LAND (R. Rupesh). Jockey P. Kamlesh has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

RACE NO.108 - THE S. A. POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.2) (About) 1600 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, HIGH RISING, was examined at 10.00 a.m. on 18^th Sept. 2005 and found to go short by right fore leg, as such the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Soon after the Start, EVATINA (B. Prakash - dr.8) shifted-in and forced CROMWELL (M.A. Gallagher – dr.7) to shift in on to PUISSANT (Y.S. Srinath - dr.6) who went on to AMAZING POWER (P. Kamlesh - dr.5). Jockey B. Prakash has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

A Stewards enquiry was held in this race, reason being that Jockey Altaf Sayyed rider of FLAREON, placed 3^rd, had failed to weigh in. After considering the submission made by the Jockey, the Stewards were not satisfied with his explanation and resolved to disqualify FLAREON and the Judge’s placings were revised as under: -

First - ENAKSI

Second - EVATINA

Third - CROMWELL

Fourth - RYEBACK

The Stewards, interviewed Jockey Altaf Sayyed and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, resolved to suspend his Jockey’s License for 29^th September 2005, for his carelessness in failing to weigh in.

FLAREON (Altaf Sayyed) hung-in in the straight. Tr. C. D. Katrak has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the gelding.

HUGO (C. Alford) was placed fifth and ROSENKAVALIER (M. Narredu) was placed sixth in this race.

After the race, AMAZING POWER was found to be sore by the right hind leg and also had abrasion on right hind bulb of heel. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.109 - THE DR. S. R. CAPTAIN CUP (About) 1400 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

Near 1300 meters, RAPHAELA (M. A. Gallagher) received interference due to a tightly packed field.

Approaching 800 meters, HIDDEN DRAGON (V. Kotwal) was cramped for room while racing between PROTEUS (M. Narredu) and LIVE LEGEND (Y.S. Srinath) and lost position.

After the race, it was observed that VINDICATION had broken a blood vessel. The filly has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.110 - THE INGLENOOK PLATE (About) 1400 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

RASSASA (K. Deepesh) was slow in the stride losing about 5 lengths at the start. Tr. S.S. Shah has been asked to give filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter, before accepting with her to race.

PARK LANE (K Prasad) hung out while negotiating the final bend despite Jockey’s best effort. Trainer Damodaran D Pillai has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with the gelding.

Jockey Vikram Jodha (SOVEREIGN POWER) has been reprimanded for unnecessary use of the whip wherein he used the whip when he was well clear of the field.

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 1^st, 5^th, 6^th and 7^th viz. TOMAHAWK, SPECTACULAR QUEEN, PERPETUATE and ENAKSI respectively and that of SILENT SPECTATOR (1^st race) and EVATINA & CROMWELL (7^th race ) were sent for analysis.

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS TRAINER’S LICENSE W.E.F 21ST SEPT. 2005 TO 25TH SEPT. 2005 – ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF LUCKY MINING IN RACE NO.63 – TRAINER HANUT SINGH

The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on Sunday, September 18, 2005, considered the Appeal from Trainer Hanut Singh, considering all the submissions made and viewing the video recording of race no.63, decided to allow his Appeal.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO ALLEGED MALPRACTICE ON THE RACE COURSE :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 17^th September 2005 interviewed Mr. Shafique Shaikh and Mr. Rajan (Raju) in the above connection and having considered the submission made and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by them, held them guilty of being violation the Rules of Racing / Regulation of the Club and decided as under:

a) to withdraw Shafique Shaikh’s Jamadar’s license and to warn off him w.e.f. 18^th September 2005 to 17^th September 2015.

b) To warn off Mr. Rajan (Raju) clerk in the stable of Mr. Narendra Lagad w.e.f 18^th September 2005 to 17^th September 2015.
