RACE DAY REPORTS

(TRACK: MONSOON - GOING - GOOD) - (PENETROMETRE : 1.9 new – 4.2 old)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 MTS. WIDE FROM 1100 MTS. UPTO THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 MTS CHUTE TILL 1000 MTS. WIDTH ABOUT 10 MTS. (THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER). (THE STARTING GATE FOR THE RACES HELD AT 1200 METERS WAS PLACED AT 1170 MTRS.)

On a request, Trainer Zadmal Singh was given permission for his Assistant Mr. Niranjan Singh to saddle his charge, CHIRAYU, in The Jaguar Plate at his own (Tr. Zadmal Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.93 - THE NIGHT CROWN PLATE (About) 1000 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

After being stalled DAZZLING RAY (I. Shaikh) was very restless, taking awkward jumps in his stall. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before accepting him to race.

CELESTIAL FANTASY (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled, considering the mare’s similar behaviour in her earlier runs, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before next accepting with her to race.

After the race, CELESTIAL FANTASY was found to be sore by right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.94 - THE MOHAMEDALI PLATE - DIV.I (About) 1200 Mts. (11 RUNNERS)

At the start, ONLY FOR DON (S. Shinde - dr.10 ) was cramped for room and dropped back.

Jockey M. Narredu reported that his mount, DIVINE ROMANCE, was uncomfortable during the race. The Sr. V.O. examined and did not reveal any abnormality.

RACE NO.95 - THE MOHAMEDALI PLATE - DIV.II (About) 1200 Mts. (11 RUNNERS)

After the race, BATTLE LAUNCH, was found to be sore by right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting her to race.

RACE NO.96 - THE BACKGAMMON PLATE (About) 1200 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

BHANUJA (Amyn Merchant – dr.1) and OCEAN AVENUE (Rajeev Pandey – dr.4) were slow in their strides, thereby losing 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers Robert D’mellow and Dallas Todywalla were asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting with them to race.

As the start was affected, EDRADOUR (I. Shaikh) planted in her stall. Trainer S.S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before accepting with her to race.

After the race, it was observed that BHANUJA had broken a blood vessel. The mare has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After passing 400 meters, MILLENNIUM KING (P. Belose) shifted in slightly and inconvenienced BLACK BRILLIANCE (R. Rupesh). Thereafter passing 400 mts. the gelding again shifted out and caused interference to R. Rupesh (BLACK BRILLIANCE). Jockey P. Belose has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

RACE NO.97 - THE SONIC BOOM PLATE (About) 1000 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

ARCTIC MIST (P.S. Deora) took an awkward jump thereby losing about a length at the start.

Passing 800 mts. SECRET PARADISE (M. Narredu) shifted in on to THUNDER ZONE (Nirmal Jodha) who shifted in and caused interference to ESANIKA (C. Chowgule). Jockey M. Narredu has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey Vikram Jodha (THUNDERELLA) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of the whip in the straight wherein he has used the whip with the right hand while the horse was drifting out and went across the whole field and in the process forced EMERGING POWER (P.S. Chouhan) to shift out with him.

After the race, ESANIKA, was found to have splayed its both hind plates.

RACE NO.98 - THE RICHELIEU TROPHY (About) 1000 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

PRINCEWAY (Zameer Sayyed) was slow in the stride thereby losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer D.J. Surti has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter, before accepting with him to race.

Near 900 meters, FIRE DANCER (S.N. Chavan) shifted out and set a chain reaction wherein MOMENT OF CREATION (P.S. Chouhan) shifted out on to EXCELLENTO (M. Narredu). On questioning Jockey S.N. Chavan stated that he had to shift out due the positioning of the false rails at that stage. After viewing the race, the explanation was accepted.

RACE NO.99 - THE TRIBUTE TROPHY (About) 2000 Mts. (10 RUNNERS)

Soon after the start, MOMENTOUS MOVER (P. Kamlesh) and SUGAR BABE (P. S. Chouhan) received interference due to a tightly packed field.

Jockey C. Alford, rider of BREZHNEV, has been reprimanded for exhibiting unnecessary use of the whip when he was well clear of the field.

After the race, MOMENTOUS MOVER, was observed to go short by right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.100 - THE NELSTON TROPHY (About) 2400 Mts. (4 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O. reported that, after the race, AEROSAT was found to have lost half of its right fore shoe plate.

The Stipendiary Stewards had interviewed Trainer P. Shroff and Jockey M.A. Gallagher in regard to the running and riding of SOMERSET WEST and the explanation was noted for future reference.

RACE NO101 - THE JAGUAR PLATE (About) 1600 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

Soon after the Start, GLORIOUS BEAUTY (Amyn Merchant, dr.11) jumped awkwardly towards the outside despite Jockey’s best effort and interfered with LATEST NEWS (Nirmal Jodha, dr. 12) and forced LATEST NEWS (Nirmal Jodha) to shift out. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been advised to be more alert in the Gates and Trainer C.D. Katrak has been advised to take remedial measures with his charge GLORIOUS BEAUTY, before next accepting to race.

Soon after the Start, WILD VEGAS (S.N. Chavan - dr.1) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and at the same time CHIRAYU (Neeraj Rawal - dr. 4) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside due to which EVA (R. Rupesh - dr.2) and RAGE OF ANGELS (P.S. Chouhan - dr. 3) were hampered for room. Jockey S.N. Chavan and Jockey Neeraj Rawal have been advised to be more alert in the Gates.

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 1^st, 7^th, 8^th, and 9^th viz. MARANELLO, BREZHNEV, BALLYBUNNION, and EMPIRE STAR respectively and that of DIVINE ROMANCE (2^nd race) were sent for analysis.
