RACE DAY REPORTS

(TRACK : MONSOON; GOING :GOOD TO YIELDING)

(PENETROMETRE READING : 2.2 new - 4.6 old)

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 900 MTS AND WERE ABOUT 1.5 MTS. WIDE UPTO 400 MTS. AND THEREAFTER NO FALSE RAILS. (THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER). RACES FOR RUN OVER 1200 MTS. THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT 1170 MTS.

Race No. 71. THE AMBER ROYAL PLATE (About) 1200 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

SHER AFGAN (Anil Baandal) was slow in the stride, losing about 4 lengths at the start and further gelding veered to the outside and then veered in and refused to raise a gallop thereafter. The gelding ran detached from the field. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards and Starter in a mock race, before accepting with him to race.

NAVAL ACADEMY (R. Birmane) and OUT OFTHE ORDINARY (Amyn Merchant) were slow in the stride, losing about 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers Hosidar Daji and Robert D’Mellow have been asked to give their respective charges more gate practice before next accepting with the horses to race.

After the race, it was observed that QUICK FIX had broken a blood vessel. The filly has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Race No. 72- THE NORTHERN STAR PLATE - DIV.II (About) 1400 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

THIEF OFTHE KNIGHT (Rajeev Pandey) was very reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails before accepting with him to race.

CRY OF TRUTH (F. Irani) was also very reluctant to be stalled, as the filly had behaved in a similar manner in her earlier run during the current season. Trainer Mahroze Irani has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before accepting with her to race.

UNSUNG HERO (P. S. Chouhan) hung-out badly in the straight despite. Tr. Altaf Hussain has been asked take remedial measure and to show the colt to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race before next accepting with him to race.

TIME WARNER (R.Biramne) trailed the field throughout the race.

Jockey Rajeev Pandey (THIEF OFTHE KNIGHT) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he persisted with the use of the whip with his right hand while his horse was drifting out.

Jockey J. Chinoy (PREMIER GALAXY) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (10 times).

Tr. Sangramsinh N. Joshi and Jockey J.Chinoy was questioned regarding the running and riding of PREMIER GALAXY, keeping in mind the drift in odds Tr. Sangramsinh N.Joshi also expressed his dissatisfaction regarding Jockey’s riding. The Stipendiary Steward will be looking into the matter and the report will be submitted later.

Race No. 73 - THE NORTHERN STAR PLATE - DIV.I (About) 1400 Mts. (9 RUNNERS)

SHARAPOVA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and went across ZACCHARUS (Malcolm Kharadi, dr.7) and MOTHERS SON (I Shaikh, dr.8). Jockey Neeral Rawal has been asked to be more careful in the gates in future.

Jockey Rajeev Pandey (HECTOR) reported that his mount was hanging in during the race and he found the gelding difficult to control. Tr. Faisal A. Abbas has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race with him.

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, DESPERADO was examined at 5.27 p.m. on 3^rd September 2005 and found to be having high fever and needed treatment, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted withdraw from the race on veterinary ground.

Race No. 74. THE BADE MIYA TROPHY (About) 1200 Mts. (12 RUNNERS)

THE NONESUCH (P Sandeep) hung out in the initial stages of the race. Trainer Nina Lalvani has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

Near 800 meters marker, QUEEN OF PALMS (Imran Chisty) shifted in and hampered the running of PRINCE OF HEARTS (PS Chouhan). Jockey Imran Chisty has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey Imran Chisty, rider of QUEEN OF PALMS, reported loss of his whip after passing the 200 meters marker. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit the report later.

Race No.75. THE GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI TROPHY (GR.3) (About) 1800 Mts. (6 RUNNERS)

Jockey P. S. Chouhan (STAR MILLIONAIRE) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (10 times).

Jockey MA Gallagher (ASIATIQUE) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (9 times).

Race No. 76. THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY (About) 1200 Mts. (7 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Bezan Chinoy, DUNBAR was examined at 7.00 a.m. on 3^rd Sept. 2005 and found to have painful swelling on left fore fetlock, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and Trainer Bezan Chinoy was permitted not to declare his charge.

MASTER CRAFT (M.A. Gallagher) was very reluctant to be stalled, as the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in his earlier run during the current season. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before accepting with him to race.

Jockey P. Belose, rider of WAR ZONE, has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (9 times).

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of ROMANTIC HERO (C. Alford) and submit the report later.

Race No. 77. THE GOLFING PLATE (About) 1200 Mts. (14 RUNNERS)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Subhag Singh, KING EMPEROR was examined at 7.00 a.m. on 3^rd Sept. 2005 and found to go short by right fore leg, as such the horse was certified unfit to race and Trainer Subhag Singh was permitted not the declare his charge.

Tr. H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.500/- for running his charge OSPREY in colours other than those registered.

Samples of urine of the winners of the races 2^nd, 4^th, 6^th, and 7^th viz. THIEF OFTHE KNIGHT, SIZZLER, STAR MILLIONAIRE and WAR ZONE respectively and that of PREMIER GALAXY (2^nd race), ASIATIQUE & STAR OF THE SEASON (6^th race) were sent for analysis.
