RACE DAY REPORTS

 

(TRACK : MONSOON TRACK : GOING : GOOD) 

 (PENETROMETRE READING : 1.8 new – 4.3 old)

(FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 1.5 MTS. WIDE FROM 900 MTS. UPTO THE WINNING POST. (THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER).

RACE NO.63 – THE FLOWER POWER PLATE  - DIV.I (About) 1000 Mts. (10 RUNNERS) 

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that Trainer M. K. Jadhav had declared the shoeing on his charge THUNDER ZONE as aluminum both fore high heel. On examination before the race, the gelding was found to have plain aluminum shoe. Trainer M.K. Jadhav has been fined Rs.2,000/- on declaring incorrect shoeing for his charge THUNDER ZONE.

 

Soon after the start AMADOMIO (Anil Baandal – dr.8) was inclined to drift out and in the process inconvenienced ALBANY (R. Biramne – dr.9) and COLLATERAL (P. Belose – dr.10).

 

Near 800 mts. ALEXANDRIA (M. A. Gallagher) shifted out and cramped EYE TO EYE (P.S. Chouhan) for room who had to be checked. Jockey M. A. Gallagher has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.  After traveling some distance, LUCKY MINING (P. S. Deora) shifted in and hampered the running of ALEXANDRIA (M. A. Gallagher). Jockey P.S. Deora has been severely reprimanded for not being sufficiently clear while changing course.

 

After the race, LUCKY MINING was found to be sore by left for leg and had an abrasion on right hind ergot. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of AMADOMIO (Anil Bandal), LUCK MINING (P.S. Deora) and MAGIC SPELL (S.N. Chavan) and submit the reports later.

 

RACE NO.64 – THE FLOWER POWER PLATE  - DIV.II (About) 1000 Mts.  (10 RUNNERS) 

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Sunny Chinoy, rider of FAIRY GODDESS, placed fourth, against Jockey Vikram Walkar, rider of POWER LEAGUE, placed third. The reason being that immediately after jumping out POWER LEAGUE (Vikram Walkar) had come onto him whereby he could not take his position, had to sit dead last, traveled wide all the way and finished a flying 4th from the last position, this has cost him the third place.

 

After interviewing the jockeys concerned and viewing the video recording of the race from various camera angles, the Stewards resolved to over rule the objection.

 

After the race, ELEZIBETH ARDEN was found to be sore by right fore leg and had a wolf tooth on the left side. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.65 –THE MAHARAJ PRAMUKH TROPHY (About) 1400 Mts. (15 RUNNERS)

 

Jockey I Shaikh was declared to ride on two horses, FRIENDLY GIFT & STRIKEALITE, by Trainers S.S Shah and Altaf Hussain respectively. After questioning both the Trainers and Jockey I Shaikh, Tr. Altaf Hussain was permitted to declare I. Shaikh on STIKEALITE and Tr. S.S. Shah declared Jockey Vikram Walkar on FRIENDLY GIFT. Jockey I. Shaikh has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

 

STRIKEALITE (I. Shaikh - dr.10) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside despite Jockey’s efforts and hampered the running of MONEY STAR (Zameer Sayyed – dr.11) and FIRE GOD (S. N. Chavan dr. 12). Jockey I. Shaikh has been asked to be more careful at the start in future.

 

After the race, it was observed that MONEY STAR had broken a blood vessel. The mare has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.66 – THE RUKSH PLATE (About) 1400  Mts.  (15 RUNNERS)

 

KIESHA (Abhishek Habbu) stumbled at the start and lost ground.

 

Approaching 1200 mtrs. SPEED SACHET (J. Chiony) received interference due to a tightly packed field.

 

RACE NO.67 – THE SEPTEMBER HANDICAP (About) 1600 Mts. (8 RUNNERS) –

 

NO REPORTS.

 

IN VIEW OF HEAVY RAINS A STEWARDS MEETING WAS HELD AFTER THE RUNNING OF THE 5TH RACE AND HAVING CONSIDERED A REPORT FROM THE CLERK OF THE COURSE AND THAT OF THE JOCKEYS, DECIDED TO ABANDON THE REMAINING RACES SCHEDULED FOR THE DAY.

Trainer Sangramsinh Joshi has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting in late Declaration Form in respect of his charge, SPEEDSTER, for THE SONIC BOOM PLATE (About) 1000 Mts. race no.70, wherein he approached the Racing Department after 8.30 a.m. but before 9.00 a.m.

 

Samples of urine of the winners of the races  3rd and 5th viz. PREMIER STAR and SUPREME ACT respectively, were sent for analysis.

RACE NO 43 - ENQUIRY OPENED INTO THE RIDING OF JOCKEY VIKRAM WALKAR (ARCTIC ZONE) IN RACE NO.6 RUN ON 6TH AUGUST 2005.

 

After the win of ARCTIC ZONE in Race No 43, we enquired into the riding of Jockey Vikram Walkar in the earlier run of ARCTIC ZONE in race no 6. At the outset, both the Trainer and Jockey were informed that this enquiry was not to establish improved performance or comparative. It was to ascertain the Jockey’s effort in the previous race.

 

Trainer M.K. Jadhav when questioned also agreed that the Jockey has made a mistake in not keeping the whip in the correct hand.

 

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by the Trainer and the Jockey with regard to the running and riding of ARTIC ZONE in race no.6, both have bee fined Rs.3,000/- each.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE FALL OF JOCKEY C. RAJENDRA (WAVES OF GLORY) IN RACE NO.23 – THE TURF CLUB TROPHY (Gr.2) RUN ON 14TH AUGUST 2005. – JOCKEY J. CHINOY REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR DANGEROUS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “SUN SEEKER”:

 

Jockey J Chinoy has confirmed that there was no pressure on him from outside. Jockey J Chinoy has been reported to the Stewards for dangerous riding on his mount SUN SEEKER.

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on 3rd September 2005 considered the report of the Stipendiary Stewards in the above connection, They interviewed Jockey J. Chinoy and having heard the submissions made by him and not being satisfied with his explanation, held him guilty of dangerous riding. Therefore, the Stewards resolved to suspend his Jockey’s License with effect from 14th September 2005 to 25th September 2005 (both days inclusive). (Permitted to ride work). Further he was cautioned for the future.

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F 25TH AUGUST 2005 TO 4TH SEPTEMBER 2005 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) – ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “BACK IN ACTION” IN RACE NO.349 – THE RACING JOURNALIST TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON 30TH APRIL 2005: APP. VIKRAM JODHA WAS GRANTED A STAY ON THE PUNISHMENT UNTIL HIS APPEAL WAS HEARD:

 

The Board of Appeal at their meeting held on 28th August 2005 considered appeal dated 19th August 2005 from App. Jockey Vikram Jodha in the above connection and having studied all the documents and papers that were submitted, viewing the video recording of Race no.349 and having considered his Grounds of Appeal and submissions made by him and his Spokesman, deliberated on the matter and having applied their minds decided to reject his appeal. In view of the stay granted to him, the suspension of his Jockey’s license would now be from 29th August 2005 to 11th September 2005 (both days inclusive). His deposit was ordered to be forfeited.

ENQUIRY INTO ALLEGED TRAINING OF HORSES IN CHARGE OF TR. SANGRAMSINH N. JOSHI BY MR. MANSOOR SHAH DURING THE PERIOD OF HIS SUSPENSION:

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on 10th May 2005 interviewed Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi and Mr. Mansoor Shah in the above connection. Having considered the submissions made, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr. Mansoor Shah. They felt that during the period of his suspension, he was talking interest and indirectly training the horses he had given charge to Tr. Sangramsinh Joshi. However, the Stewards decided to take a lenient view and cautioned him for the future.

 

The Stewards were also not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Tr. Sangramsinh Joshi. They felt that he had give misleading evidence in enquiry and believed that he was in touch with Mr. Masoor Shah and allowing him to indirectly train horses which he had taken charge from him. However, the Stewards decided to take lenient view and cautioned him to ensure that he took corrective steps in this regard.
