Race No.27 - THE LAND OF GLORY PLATE - DIV.I - (About) 1200 Metres. (16 Runners)

DISCOVER (S.S. Baria) was slow in the stride, losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Amjad Khan has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before accepting him to race.

DON’T LOOK TWICE (P. S. Chouhan) after the start shifted in on to UPSTAGE (I. Shaikh) who in turn shifted in on to WIN FOR ME (Satish Nayak). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Thereafter passing 1100 metres ROMAN KING (P. Sandeep) shifted in onto UPSTAGE who shifted in on to WIN FOR ME (Satish Nayak). Jockey P. Sandeep has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Soon after the start HEALING RAY (P. Kamlesh) shifted out with the Jockey making no effort to correct his mount and hampered the running of ALBANY (R. Biramne). Jockey P. Kamlesh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

After the race, it was observed that BABITA had broken a blood vessel. The mare has been stopped from racing for a stipulated period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Race No.28 - THE TIMELESS BEAUTY PLATE - DIV.I - 1200 Metres. (9 Runners)

MONEY FOR JAM (Zameer Sayed) planted, took a late jump, thereby losing about a distance at the start. Trainer D.J. Surti has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials before accepting with him to race.

Jockey I. Shaikh while negotiating the final bend was observed to have used the whip with his right hand on his mount SEE THE TRUTH, for the gelding to shift out and then used the whip with the left hand and gradually shifted on to the rails. Jockey I. Shaikh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of his whip.

Race No 29: THE TIMELESS BEAUTY PLATE - DIV.II - (About) 1200 Metres. (8 Runners)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer M.K. Jadhav, GRAZIA was examined at 7.00 am on 14^th August 2005 and found to be sore by left fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and Trainer M.K. Jadhav was permitted not to declare the gelding. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting him to race.

Soon after the start, DON GAMA (Samuel Fargeat) veered out. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

EMPIRE STAR (Rajeev Pandey) shifted in with the rider making no effort to correct his mount thereby starting the chain reaction wherein, EMPIRE STAR shifted on to SAN JUAN (P. Belose) who in turn went on to ESANIKA (C. Chowgule) who further shifted on to ASIATIQUE (C. Ruzaan). Jockey Rajeev Pandey has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Race no 30: THE ROYAL WESTERN INDIA TURF CLUB, LTD TROPHY - (About) 1400 Metres. (5 Runners)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar, RUCHITA was examined at 10.00 a.m. on 13^th August 2005 and found to be having corneal ulcer on the right eye, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and Trainer Dr. Anil Kumar was permitted not to declare the horse.

CRY OF TRUTH (Malcolm Kharadi – dr. 3) in the process of being stalled broke her bit and damaged the headgear. As all the runners already being loaded, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Mahroze Irani has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter in the morning starting trails before next accepting with her to race.

Race No 31: THE KUMAR BUILDERS INDEPENDENCE DAY TROPHY - (About) 1600 Metres. (18 Runners)

ORIENTAL EXPRESS (M. Narredu) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting him to race.

After the race, ROYAL MARCH was found to be sore by right fore leg, with a wolf tooth on the left side in the mouth. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

After the race NO TIME was observed has splayed its right fore plate.

Race No 32: THE NANDA DEEP TROPHY - (About) 1000 Metres. (11 Runners)

As the start was effected MAURYA (C. Chowgule) reared up, thereby losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been advised to give the gelding more gate practice before accepting him to race.

The saddle on DONEGAL BAY (Ikram Khan) was observed to have slipped back during the race and while negotiating the final bend the rider lost his balance and fell. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

The Stipendiary Stewards, will be looking into the running and riding of CONFIDENT (Anil Baandal) and submit their report later.

Race No 33: THE UNFORGETTABLE PLATE - (About) 1200 Metres. (15 Runners)

The Sr. V.O, reported that, at the request of Trainer H.J. Antia, FASTER THAN LIGHT was examined at 11.00 a.m. on 13^th August 2005 and found to have stiff shoulder, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and Trainer H.J. Antia was permitted not to declare the horse.

Trainer Anil Kumar has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring S.S. Baria to ride HANDSOME LAD without the Jockey’s consent whereby there was a dual Declaration for Jockey SS Baria. Trainer Anil Kumar was permitted to declare Jockey R. Yousaf on HANDSOME LAD.

Near 800 meters, RUSHING RIVER (Nirmal Jodha) shifted in and caused a chain reaction whereby EMPEACHMENT (T. Bernard) was forced to shift in on to PHILOSOPHER (Neeraj Rawal) who went onto HIGHER THAN HOPE (I. Shaikh). Jockey Nirmal Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

In the final stages, EMPEACHMENT (T. Bernard) shifted in and at the same time FIRE ALARM (L Prashant) shifted out and hampered the running of SEVILLE STAR (S.S. Baria). Both Jockeys T Bernard and L Prashant, have been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Race No 34: THE LAND OF GLORY PLATE - DIV.II - (About) 1200 Metres. (15 Runners)

EXPERT OPINION (S.S. Baria) was slow in the stride losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Jayantilal K. Gor has been advised to give the filly more gate practice before next accepting her to race.

Samples of urine of the winners of 2^nd, 5^th, 6^th, and 7^th races viz. HIGH RISING, ORIENTAL EXPRESS, STRIKING BEAUTY and ASHBOURNE respectively, were sent for analysis.
