FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 5
MTS.WIDE FROM 1600 MTS. (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 MTS, 7 MTS. WIDE AT 1000 MTS, 9
MTS. WIDE AT 800 MTS. AND THEREAFTER 10 MTS. WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR
THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1700 MTS.
LEADING TO 2 MTS. WIDE AT 1600 MTS, 4 MTS. WIDE AT 1400 MTS, 6 MTS. WIDE AT
1200 MTS. AND 7 MTS. WIDE AT 1000 MTS. - THE STARTING GATES WERE
POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A
ROADOMETER).
RACE NO.297 - THE OSMAN
CHOTANI PLATE (1200 Mts. – 8 Runners)
On arrival at the starting post, before
been stalled LOVE AND BE LOVED (Aadesh Kumar) reared up, dislodged the rider
and fell on its back. The filly was examined by the Club’s V.O and found to be
short by left hind leg and certified her unfit to race. As such the filly was
withdrawn from the race before coming under Starter’s Order. Trainer Rehanullah
Khan has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to show her to the
satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials. Also the filly has to
be passed fit by the Club’s V.O before next accepting to race.
After the race, it was observed that
TURF CROWN had broken a blood vessel. The gelding has been stopped from racing
for the stipulated period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by
the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the
running of AKASH (App. Towfeeq R. Shaikh) in its earlier race i.e. Race No.292
and submit their report later.
RACE NO.298 - THE MOUNT
EVEREST TROPHY - DIV.I (1000 Mts. – 8 Runners) – No report.
RACE NO.299 - THE BHISHMA
PLATE - DIV.I (1400 Mts. – 12 Runners)
At the request of Trainer Altaf
Hussain, SOVEREIGN POWER was examined by the Club’s V.O. at 6.00 p.m. on
Thursday, 7th April 2005 and found to be sore by left hind leg. As
such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and Trainer Altaf Hussain
permitted not to declare the gelding on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to
be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
WONDER WHEEL (S.K. Jadhav) took a fly
jump losing about 2 lengths at the start.
RACE NO.300 - THE V. P.
KOREGAONKAR PLATE (1100 Mts. – 10 Runners)
On arrival at the start Jockey Malcolm
Kharadi rider of SERENDIPITY reported that his saddle had shifted and the same
was reapplied.
After the race, it was observed that
SERENDIPITY had broken a blood vessel. The mare has been stopped from racing
for the stipulated period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the
Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
App.
800 mts. ONLY FOR DON (App. T. Atul) shifted in and caused interference to
SERENDIPITY (Malcolm Kharadi) and NOBLE NIECE (S.S.Rathore). App. T. Atul has
been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Passing
400 mts SPEEDSTER (N. Rawal) shifted out and caused a chain reaction and forced
the horses on his outside viz. ONLY FOR DON (App. T. Atul), OZZY (Abhishek
Habbu), NOBLE NIECE (S.S. Rathore), REGAL FANTASY (Ikram Khan) and
SERENDIPITY(Malcolm Kharadi) to change their course and in the process REGAL
FANTASY (Ikram Khan) received interference. Jockey N. Rawal has been fined
Rs.1,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
App.
Vikram Jodha, rider of VELVET CLAWS, has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the
whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (10 times).
RACE NO.301 - THE COMMANDER
IN CHIEF PLATE (1600 Mts. – 9 Runners)
Soon after the race, it was observed
that MAGIC NOBILITY had sustained fracture of both the sasamoids on the left
fore limb. The gelding was put down on humane grounds.
After the race, it was observed that
HIGH OPINION had broken a blood vessel and also had an abrasion on the left
stifle. The gelding has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of
four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next
accepting to race.
SOLAR
FLOWER (App VikramJodha) shifted out under the use of the whip and caused
severe interference to HIGH OPINION (M. Narredu). App. Vikram Jodha has been
fined Rs.3000/- for improper use of the whip and failing to exercise proper
control over his mount.
The
Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running of this race and their
report will be submitted later.
RACE NO.302 - THE MOUNT
EVEREST TROPHY - DIV.II (1000 Mts. – 8 Runners)
SPEED SACHET (J. Chinoy) hesitated at
the jump out thereby losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Anil Kumar
has been advised to give the colt more gate practice before accepting with him
to race.
SPEED
SACHET (J. Chinoy) hung-out in the straight. Trainer Anil Kumar has been advised
to take remedial measures before next accepting with him to race.
RACE NO.303 - THE ACADEMIC
TROPHY (1800 Mts. – 7 Runners)
CHIRAYU (App. Towfeeq R. Shaikh) swayed
his head into the adjoining stall as the start was effected, thereby losing 6
lengths at the start.
The
Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the poor performance of RICH N ROYAL
(A. J. Nilesh) in this race and submit their report later.
On
a complaint received from Tr. Zadmal Singh, the Stipendiary Stewards will be
looking into the riding of CHIRAYU (App. Towfeeq R. Shaikh) and submit their
report later.
RACE NO.304 - THE BHISHMA
PLATE - DIV.II (1400 Mts. – 12 Runners)
App.
L. Prashant, rider of GLORY OFTHE FAMILY, has been fined Rs.500/- for weighing
out late, which resulted in the horse being brought late into the paddock.
Jockey
S.P. Ranjane, rider of WELL VERSED, has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the
whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount (12 times).

Samples of urine of the winners of the 3rd, 5th,
6th and 8th races, viz ROSE PETALS, RAPHAELA, INTERLAKEN and STAR GOLD respectively and
also that of RICH N’ ROYAL (7th race) were sent for analysis.
