RACE DAY REPORTS

 

(GOING: GOOD. PENETROMETER READING – 2.2)

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 3 MTS. WIDE FROM 1600 MTS. (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 MTS. AND THEREAFTER 5 MTS. WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AT THE MARKER FOR THE START OF EACH RACE AS MEASURED BY A ROADOMETER).

 

RACE NO.290 - THE ACE RULER PLATE :  (1600 Mtrs. - 9 Runners)

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that, after the race GREY STORM (S.N.Chavan) was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

RACE NO.291 - THE EVERY TIME PLATE (DIV.I): (1000 Mts. -  9 Runners)

 

On the way to the Starting Post, THUNDER ZONE (R. Shelar) dropped the rider and bolted towards the Winning Post. The gelding was caught and taken back to the start.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that ESANIKA was examined after the race and found to be sound. The filly had wolf teeth on either side.

 

RACE NO.292 - THE TRACK STAR PLATE : (1200 Metres.  14 Runners)

 

At the request of Trainer Janardhan, AMARANZA was examined at 5.45 p.m. on Thursday, 31st March 2005 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, having pain and swelling of medial suspensory ligament As such, Tr. Janardhan was permitted not to declare the gelding in this race on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

MISCHEVIOUS GIRL (K. Deepesh) was very reluctant to reach the Starting Post and had to be led to the gates, thus delaying the start. Trainer Adil Dajee has asked to give the mare more gate approach practice during a mock race for banned horses and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting with her to race.

 

While negotiating the final bend, AKASH (App. Towfeeq R. Shaikh) tried to take a gap between POWER ZONE (App. Vikram Jodha) on its outside and IMPERIAL THRILLER (S.P.Ranjane) on the inside when there was insufficient room, due to which AKASH clipped the hind heels of POWER ZONE and stumbled. App. Towfeeq R. Shaikh has been reprimanded for trying to take a gap when there was insufficient room.

           

WILD VEGAS (S.N.Chavan) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been advised to take remedial measures before accepting with the gelding to race.

 

RACE NO.293 - THE EVERY TIME PLATE (DIV.II):  (1000 Mts. -  8 Runners)

 

Soon after the start, HELMSDALE (K.P.G.Appu, dr.4) was hampered for room when SAMARKHAND (Malcolm Kharadi, dr.3) shifted out and at the same time HECTOR (R.Rupesh, dr.5) shifted in. Jockey Malcolm Kharadi and R.Rupesh have been asked to be more alert in the gates.

 

After the race it was observed that CAPE AFRICA had broken a blood vessel and is therefore not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.294 - THE PORSCHE MAHARAJA SIR HARISINGHJI TROPHY (GR.3): (1600 Mtrs. –

5 Runners)

 

MASTER CRAFT (P.Belose) was reluctant to be stalled. As the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its earlier run this season, Tr. Asad Ali has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before accepting with him to race.

 

RACE NO.295 - THE LORD JIM PLATE : (1600 Metres 15 Runners)

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, AMADOMIO was examined at 7.10 a.m. on Saturday, 2nd April 2005 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding had an old abrasion with a scab on posterior aspect of fetlock.  As such, Tr. Narendra Lagad was permitted not to declare the gelding in this race on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

DILNAWAZ (R.Rupesh) planted losing over a distance at the start. As the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its earlier runs this season, Tr.S.S.Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in two mock races, before accepting with him to race.

 

AURELIAN (M.Narredu) hung-out during the race. Trainer Vinayak has been advised to take remedial measures before accepting to race the gelding again.

 

Passing 400 mts. LIONHEART (C. Rajendra) shifted in under the use of the whip and caused interference to CORNELIA SUPRA (SN Chavan). Jockey C.Rajendra has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that, after the race EXTRAORDINARY was found to go short by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.296 - THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA PLATE : (1000 Mts. - 14 Runners)

 

App. Vikram Jodha reported that he lost his right stirrup in the first furlong after the Start, which he regained after traveling some distance.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking Into the running and riding of SECRET PATH (App. Vikram Jodha) and submit their report later.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that SECRET PATH was examined after the race and found to be sound.

 

After the race, BLUE BUTTERFLY was observed to have an abrasion on the right fore cannon.

 

Samples of urine of the winners of the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th races, viz. PERFECT ATTRACTION, SAMARKHAND, MONIFIETH and FLAMES OF FIRE respectively, as also that of GREY STORM (1st race), ESANIKA (2nd race) and SOME TIME & AIR STRIKE (5th race), were sent for analysis.

RE: RACE NO.256 – THE P.B.AVASIA PLATE RUN ON 17TH MARCH, 2005.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards have fined Jockey Vikram Walkar, the rider of LOVE AND JOY,  a sum of Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount LOVE AND JOY (10 times).

RE: RACE NO.286 - THE A. F. S. TALYARKHAN TROPHY RUN ON 2ND APRIL, 2004 :

 

MAJOR ROBERTS (C.Rajendra ) was observed to shift in after the start thereby forcing BLAZING SPEED (S.P.Ranjane) to shift in and cause interference to INTRINSIC VALUE (M. Narredu). Jockey C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.3,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount thereby allowing his mount to shift in.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “MISTER FIXIT” IN RACE NO 230 RUN ON 9TH MARCH 2005 AS COMPARED TO ITS EARLIER RUN IN RACE NO 200 WHERE IT WAS UNPLACED:

 

The Stewards noted the Stipendiary Stewards report that they had enquired into the above matter and after viewing the video recording of the races concerned and considering that there was hardly any betting on this horse in both the races, the explanation tendered by Tr.D.J.Surti was accepted.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “STUNNING FORCE” IN RACE NO 230 RUN ON 9TH MARCH 2005:

 

The Stewards noted the Stipendiary Stewards report that they had enquired into the above matter and after viewing the video recording of the races concerned and scrutinizing the betting sheets, they decided that no action was called for in the matter and closed the enquiry.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE SLIPPING OF BIT ON “VRIKODARA” IN RACE NO 233 RUN ON 17TH MARCH 2005:

 

Jockey Malcolm Kharadi had reported that while negotiating the bend the bit on his mount slipped towards the right side.

 

On viewing the video recording of the race, it was observed that Jockey Malcolm Kharadi was trying to keep his mount from drifting out and in the process the bit had slipped towards the right side. As such no action has been initiated in the matter.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF WHIP BY JOCKEY A.J. NILESH – “ROYAL HUNT” IN RACE NO 248 RUN ON 17TH MARCH 2005:

 

After reviewing the race, it was observed that Jockey Satish Nayak (GET FRESH), who was on the inside of Jockey AJ Nilesh (ROYAL HUNT), while using his whip, it accidentally hit the whip of Jockey AJ Nilesh and this resulted in Jockey Nilesh losing his whip. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against any Jockey.

The Stewards noted the Stipendiary Stewards report that they had enquired into the above matter and after viewing the video recording of the races concerned and scrutinizing the betting sheets, they accepted the explanation tendered by Tr.Nana Raghunath and no action was initiated in the matter.

The Stewards noted the Stipendiary Stewards report that after perusing the explanation tendered by Trainer Faisal A.Abbas and Jockey V.Kotwal and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stipendiary Stewards have cautioned Jockey V. Kotwal to be more vigorous on his mounts in future.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “PRICELESS JEWEL” IN RACE NO 257 RUN ON 17TH MARCH 2005:

 

The Stewards noted the Stipendiary Stewards report that after perusing the explanation tendered by Trainer Rehanullah Khan and Jockey S.S.Rathore and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stipendiary Stewards have cautioned Jockey S.S.Rathore to be more vigorous on his mounts in future.

RE : RACE NO.261 – THE MANJRI STUD BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3) RUN ON 20TH MARCH, 2005 – INTERFERENCE CAUSED TO “SNOW TIGER” :

 

On viewing the video recording of the race, it was observed that approaching the 1400 mtrs. ANGEL STAR (B. Prakash) shifted in, which resulted in COTE D’ AZUR (M. Narredu) shifted out and hampering the run SNOW TIGER (Y.S. Srinath). Jockeys B. Prakash and Y.S. Srinath have been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over their respective mounts.
